EVELYN’S POV

It had been a few days since I transmigrated into this new body, and I was slowly getting the hang of things.

I had been discharged from the hospital, but I couldn't stop thinking about the man who was supposed to be my fiance and why he had yet to pay his "wife" a visit since I woke up.

“Good news, Young Miss. You're getting discharged today,” the doctor informed me.

I nodded without sparing him a glance.

“I see,” I mumbled, rubbing my chin while staring at the laptop screen with a frown.

“You should get ready, too,” the doctor added, hoping to get a reaction from me.

“I'm busy,” I muttered, eyes glued to the screen.

He had to leave in embarrassment.

I was trying to hack into the Organization's database, but it was being protected by a top-tier firewall called Lockwell. I was caught off guard and barely managed to pull out before they traced my location.

“I'm coming for you,” I scoffed before turning off the laptop.

I got off the bed to get changed before my so-called family arrived. I headed to the bathroom and stared at the reflection of my new body with a stoic face.

Rosetta was a stunning beauty who could set men’s tongues wagging, but unfortunately, she had been fragile and stupid—hence the reason she was a pushover. I touched her soft, silky hair, which stopped right at my waist, and sighed.

“You sure need a makeover,” I smirked.

I walked to the mini-closet to get a change of outfit, but I wasn't impressed.

“I guess we need to change our wardrobe,” I mumbled, flipping through the bunch of clothes that had been sent over.

Suddenly, the door pulled open, and someone walked in unannounced.

“Didn't your mother teach you to knock before waltzing into someone's space?” I muttered with an irritated voice without turning around to see who it was.

“I see you're alive.”

I heard a deep voice and froze for a brief moment, wondering if my cover had been blown.

“Dying would have been a better option for someone like you,” he spoke nonchalantly.

I snapped my head in the direction of the voice, angry. I found a stranger sitting elegantly on the couch with his legs crossed.

Damn! I muttered in my head as I took in his majestic features.

He was a beautiful man who could actually put ladies to shame with his looks, but his aura was terrifying.

“I understand that I'm indeed handsome, but don't you think you're taking advantage of me by staring?” he spoke shamelessly.

This snapped me back to my senses, and I frowned in confusion.

“I'm sorry, Honey, but nobody gives a f*ck about your stupid ego,” I said with a raised eyebrow.

He scoffed nonchalantly. “That's no way to speak to your fiancé, my love.”

He finally introduced himself with a smirk on his face, though the smirk didn't reach his cold eyes.

I felt a strange chill run down my spine. I couldn't read him. I couldn't see through him no matter how hard I stared, which was usually impossible for me. He was dangerous.

“Get out. I'm getting dressed.” I didn't want to talk to him anymore.

Unfortunately, he was just as stubborn as a cat.

“Don't flatter yourself, darling. There's nothing special to see,” he said coldly, not holding back.

I felt my blood boil. He was a narcissist.

I held onto the hem of the hospital gown, ready to pull it off. His assistant immediately excused himself, leaving us alone.

“Suit yourself,” I shrugged.

I took off the hospital gown without hesitation. I could feel his eyes trail down my entire body, and for the first time in a long time, I felt uncomfortable.

I grew up with a lot of boys and girls in the Organization; modesty was a luxury we couldn't afford. It was okay to undress in front of others back then. But right now, I felt strange undressing in front of him.

Something about his gaze made me tremble. I unhurriedly put on a white turtleneck and plain black pants, giving off typical office vibes.

“Like what you see?” I scoffed as I gently tied up my hair before heading toward the bed to pick up my gadgets.

“Be out in two minutes,” he said coldly, standing up and walking away.

“Just who the heck does he think he is?” I muttered. I felt like putting a bullet through his thick skull.

I couldn't understand what Rosetta actually saw in him.

“I can't believe you were in love with him,” I scoffed angrily at the lingering memory of her feelings.

His assistant returned to the room and picked up my stuff without saying a word. He headed toward the door, and I followed him.

I was taken downstairs and frowned upon seeing how heavily guarded the man was.

Is he the President of Arrogance or what? I thought as I headed toward the white Rolls-Royce Phantom.

The door was held open by one of his guards, and I got into the car with the narcissistic man. He seemed busy with his tablet and barely spared me a glance—not that I cared about him.

“To the Glenn Mansion,” he instructed without taking his eyes off his tablet.

I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. I decided to do some digging about the Organization once again on my phone.

My eyes flickered as I stared at the news about my death. Of course, they had decided to dump everything on me and make me take the fall for all their wrongdoings.

Reading through the comments section made me clench my fist.

“She's an abomination who deserved to die,” someone commented. I resisted the urge to scoff.

“Whoever gave birth to such an evil monster should be set ablaze.”

What was I expecting from a bunch of hypocrites who only believe whatever they want to believe? I felt anger course through my veins as I tried to keep my cool.

You're going to regret doing that to me.

I suddenly snapped out of my thoughts when he spoke.

“We're getting married in two weeks.”

“What?!”

THIRD PERSON POV"And what about money? We can't run without money," Ivy said, panic creeping into her voice as she thought of a way to convince her mom. "We'll take what we can and sell whatever we need to. Jewelry, clothes, anything," her mother said with a tone of finality. "We don't have time, Ivy. We need to be gone before Rosetta comes for us.""I'm not running away," Ivy stated, her voice firm despite the fear that clung to her every word. "The farther I am from Williams, the closer he gets to her. I can't lose to her, Mom. I didn't lose to the real Rosetta, and I won't lose to this fake one."Mrs Glenn's brows creased in confusion as she turned to her daughter and she stopped pacing. "What do you mean by 'real' and 'fake' Rosetta?" she asked, her tone laced with confusion and a growing interest.Ivy took a deep breath, and turned to her mother with all seriousness"It's true. That girl is not Rosetta. She's someone else, pretending to be her. Probably for the fame and money.""

THIRD PERSON POVEvelyn's eyes slowly opened the next morning. The room was bright with sunlight, and for a moment, she didn't remember where she was or how she got there. All she could feel was pain. Then, the memories of the last night rushed back. She felt her heart beat faster as she remembered being in the Van with Bruce and his stupid men, and then she was taken to that hotel and met with Amira again. She tried to sit up, but her head spun making her dizzy, and she lay back down with a groan. "You're awake," a deep manly voice said. Evelyn turned her head and saw Williams sitting by the bed. He had a serious look on his face, so serious that you couldn't even guess his thoughts at all. "How do you feel?" he asked."Like I've been run over by a truck," she said, trying to make her voice sound light, but she was still feeling weak. Williams stood up and poured her a glass of water from a bottle on the nightstand. "Drink this," he said, his voice gentle yet stiff. She could tell he

THIRD PERSON POVThe look in her eyes were those of a sly wolf about to feast off it's prey. "Rosetta, just bear with it a bit longer. The physician is on her way here." I don't know what's happening and you look.. so..""You'll regret this by morning, and now I'm ordering you to go sit your ass back down or I seriously will punish you." He said with a warning gaze. Rosetta ignored his cold tone as her gaze landed on his lips. "Sit down n-"He was suddenly cut off by a pair of lips moving on his lips, tasting and savoring the taste of his lips. He was in shock that he didn't move or think for a few seconds. He hadn't expected her to be this proactive that she would make a move on him. And soon, he couldn't take it and kissed her back."Williams I need-" Rosetta tried to tell him she needed air, but he didn't let her move, neither did he give her a breathing space. It felt like he wanted to steal every bit of air in her and leave her breathles

THIRD PERSON POVRosetta never ventured near Williams dick, though, but he really wished she would. Just when he thought her knee would get close, she suddenly stopped and stilled as well. He suddenly feared that she had woken up but then as he stole a glance at her, he saw she was now deep in sleep. He sighed helplessly and also tried to calm himself down, but he couldn't, he was so turned on by her even though all she did was rub her face against his chest. He tried brushing it off, but he couldn't still. He groaned, frustrated and left the bed, headed to the bathroom. Williams walked into the bathroom to have a nice cold bathe to help him calm the nerves down. Holding on to the railing, he didn't bother closing the shower curtain and turned on the tap, but as the cold water cascaded down his body, the calmness he had expected didn't come. Instead, it seemed like the water became hot as it touched his body. He grunted in anger, he just couldn't get he thought of Rosetta out of his h

The thought alone made his blood boil. They must all already be imagining putting their disgusting hands all over her.Soon enough she was taken back inside and Williams wanted to go after her when Connor held him back. He had stayed close, trying to read Williams' mood. "Sir, we need a plan. We can't just bust in there. It's too risky for Miss Rosetta."Williams shot Connor a look that could freeze fire. "You think I don't know that? But sitting here, doing nothing, that's not an option either is it Connor?."Over at the bar, a woman with a slick smile and too much cologne walked up to them. "Gentlemen, can I interest you in tonight's special? High stakes, but the reward is... exquisite." Connor stepped forward, his voice low. "That woman on the stage just now... Rosetta."The woman's smile faltered, then he ch

THIRD PERSON POV"How much money do you have? Two million for a woman. If you can take it out, I'll give her to you to play with!" Two million was an astronomical figure for these street thugs. The man in the carriage was speechless after that and kept their mouths shut.Rosetta's mouth was blocked but her ears were good. Listening to their conversation, made her heart became colder. These bastards actually wanted to use her to have sex with her, and then give her out to old rich men for money?!!.
