The second girl’s veins throbbed wildly against her forehead at Sia’s insult. Sia glanced at the security guards who were watching them with apprehension. The students had burst into laughter when Sia had called her dumb and it was funnier because she was always ranked in the last 50 students in their set. The thought annoyed but Sia was not bothered.
“I have no business with you so stay out of my lane” Sia finished before turning and walking towards the school gates.
No one knew what had gotten into the second girl as she rushed towards Sia grabbing her bag and turning her around to give her a slap but it seemed as if Sia had seen it coming because by the time the girl turned Sia around to slap her, she was the one who got a fist to her face. She staggered backwards screaming on top of her voice while holding her bloody probably broken nose. Her friends seeing the scene also rushed towards Sia who now had a huge frown on her face. She was quick to grab the first girl who rushed towards and pushed her into the incoming one. The two girls gave out a yell and fell backwards from their collision.
Sia groaned as she felt her hair been pulled all of a sudden. Her perfect hair?!
Anger welled up in her as she immediately shot out her leg towards the latter kicking her in the stomach and immediately sending her meters away from her.
“How dare you touch my hair?” Sia yelled at the girl while everyone stared in surprise at the turn of events. All the girls laid on the floor groaning with pain while Sia chuckled. She all long wanted to beat them and teach them a lesson but she had withheld the urge and avoided them and just at the last moment, they had sent themselves to her door. Darting another glance at the girls on the floor, Sia bent to pick up her school bag before walking towards the school gates. The security guards stared at in terror as they quickly opened the gates and Sia walked inside. After walking few meters, she suddenly turned to one fo the security guards who jumped backwards while raising his hands in the air.
“I didn’t say anything!” he yelled and Sia stared at him with a blank face before turning to the other one.
“Where’s the Principal’s office?” she asked.
An hour and ten minutes later; Sia breathed a sigh of relief after leaving the Principal’s office; she had no idea that all Principals were this chatty, public and private. They asked questions and answered it themselves, they talked about their careers and family and every other thing that Sia neither cared about nor remembered about. Luckily for her, her class teacher had come to her rescue.
“Didn’t you see my calls?” the petite woman asked and Sia turned to her before shaking her head.
“I didn’t get access to my phone until this morning” Sia replied honestly and the woman stared at Sia in surprise.
“You lost your phone?” she asked.
“I forgot it in my school bag for a few days and I didn’t realize it went missing” Sia replied noticing the way the students poked their heads out of the windows to stare at her. The woman stopped in her tracks and stared at Sia like she had grown three heads.
“Is there a problem?” Sia asked with her eyebrow raised and the woman laughed lightly.
“Not at all. You can address me as Caroline” the woman said and Sia nodded her head as they stopped in front of a class whose noise made her frown. They were indeed noisy and loud but compared to the screams and yells at the underground boxing arena, it was nothing.
They walked into the class and Caroline walked to the podium banging on the table with helpless written all over her face. The class finally went silent and everyone turned to the both of them.
“You have a new classmate and I hope you will treat her well” Caroline started turning to Sia.
“Why don’t you introduce yourself?” she asked.
“My name is Sia” Sia replied and the smile on Caroline’s face stiffened. Was that the end of her introduction?
“So guys, meet Sia and she’s going to be your classmate from now on” Caroline said trying to ease the awkwardness in the air.
“Sam?” she called and a girl shot up to her feet chewing and smacking gum.
“I told you chewing gums are prohibited in the class” Caroline bellowed and Sam nodded her head.
“Oh” she muttered blowing a bubble. Caroline stared at her choosing to save her spit.
“Why don’t you show Sia around? Help her out with the process” Caroline suggested and Sam turned to Sia meeting the other’s blank face.
“That’s fine” she replied before seating down.
“Don’t forget to be nice and warm to your new classmate” Caroline said and the class immediately resumed it noisy status. But she indeed knew that she didn’t need to remind them to be nice to Sia, the fact she had beaten a number of girls on her first girl had gone round the school already. Getting on her nerves was equivalent to landing in the school clinic. She wasn’t really big on explaining to the Principal why half of the students in her class were in the clinic.
Knowing how mischievous her students were; she had to remind them to stay clear of her lane. It was safer to even avoid her. She then turned to Sia wearing a smile on her face.
“There are a lot of empty spaces at the back, feel free to pick any seat” she said and Sia nodded her head perfunctorily at her before walking to the far end of the class.
She didn’t need a soothsayer to tell her that the class she had been placed was the class of the most notorious yet rich students. They did whatever they liked and violated the school rules but the school could neither lay a hand on them or do anything to them at all.
She placed her bag on an empty seat and sat down placing her head on the table. She really didn’t care wherever they placed her; it didn’t make a difference to her. She made herself comfortable on the table while glancing round the class. there was a clear difference a private school and a public school staring back at her in the face.
It was the class of the most notorious students but the equipment’s and quality of materials in the class was not in the least lacking. She closed her eyes trying to get some sleep. The god of Sleep didn’t need to make an appointment with her, she was going to go over anyways.
Sia had no idea of how much she slept or how many hours of school time had passed by when someone roughly pushed her desk. Aroused from sleep; irritation seeped into her bones as her eyelids fluttered open glaring at the person who had shaken her table. The boy who was seated in front of her withdrew his hand immediately terrified of Sia’s glare. She sat up and realized that half of the class was boring holes into her head and another much older man with glasses managed to bore a hole through his glasses.“It’s your first day and you are already sleeping in my class” he said through his nose and Sia sat up fully meeting the older man’s eyes.“What is it that you were teaching or talking about?” Sia asked, her question instantly producing green lines on the teacher’s face.“Insolence!” he yelled banging the table. Sia looked around the class a small chuckle on her lips. Even though virtually everyone in the class was now staring at her, she was still able to depict the fact that none o
Samantha indeed gave her a tour of the whole school. from the cafeteria to the indoor courts ranging from the basketball court, to the table tennis court to the lawn tennis court to the volleyball courts. As much as Sia didn’t want to admit , she realised that there was a hall or court for almost every sport that was played in the school. Her old school had to share a basketball court with another school in the area. Samantha went on to show her the library, the clinic, the musical room and so many other places. She wasn’t even bothered that they had missed about two classes while giving her a tour of the school. She complained about having a patchy throat and Samnath led them back to the cafeteria and Sia was puzzled when Samantha brought out a card instead of money.“You don’t have your meal card yet?” Samantha asked and Sia shrugged her shoulders.“I didn’t know meal cards were a thing in private schools” Sia replied, earning a grin from Samantha.“It is here. I mean with your meal
It had been less than two weeks since Sia resumed to Orleans and saying that she had been adjusting well would be Sia trying to sound like she was okay when clearly she wasn’t. Not even in the least. Like Samantha had said, somehow she no longer felt out of place like she thought she would be feeling like for a long while but rather, she had slowly adjusted into her class and her classmates although stayed away from her didn't treat her like someone who was still new.Sia could barely make sense of the class she was in. Most of the teachers made it to class and spoke as though they were trying to curry favour with the students and rarely taught anything. Instead of listening to a 40-year old woman talk about how much she loved lilac flowers when her face screamed the opposite; Sia would rather put her head on the table and sleep and no one dared to wake her up.Someone had y mistake kicked Sia’s chair while she sleeping one day and Sia awoke with a glare that burned the girl to her fe
Grumbling as she walked into the class, Sia didn’t waste time placing her head on her table and sending herself into the arms of sleep. She was baffled at the girls who had kicked Samantha’s chair. She doubted if she had seen them around her or even around them and no matter how much she thought; not even one of those scenes crossed her mind. She came to a conclusion.Someone had sent them; she had seen too many scenes and incidents like that at her former school. Her school was one scary place and you had to be scarier to be able to keep your head.Sia was the scariest so of course her head was safe. As for who had sent the girls, Sia had no idea.Even in the class, she was no push over so there was no way someone in the class must have sent the girls. The fact that someone from the other classes might have sent them made Sia chuckle. She had somehow not come in contact with any of the students from the other two classes.According to Smantha, the school placed their classes far away
Sia didn’t know how long she had slept but by the time she opened her eyes; she knew school would definitely be over. She pushed herself up the seats and discovered that the hot boy who was playing basketball from before had also disappeared. She rubbed her eyes before rising to her feet and trotting towards her class.Unlike she had thought, it was the final period before school was over. In summary, she had missed two extra periods. The class was loud and noisy by the time Sia stepped back into the class. Samantha had a grin on her face as she followed her to her seat.“Nigga, could you have done something else than saying you do not understand and basis of a baseball game and saying you are not interested in it as an excuse to leave the class?” Samantha asked as Sia sat down and furrowed her brows.“Another excuse like what?” Sia asked and Samantha laughed lightly.“After you left, no matter what Stanley tried to teach, everyone kept chorusing that they didn't know it and weren’t
“What do you mean by she’s going to use her claws to scratch my face?” Phillip asked with a frown on his face, his fingers moving even faster on the keyboard while keeping his eyes on the screen.“You sure do know that Alina has her eyes on our star boy Nate, she would do anything to get his attention” Caleb replied taking a pause and turning to glance at the boy seated a few metres away from him and shook his head.“Caleb, are you crazy?” Phillip yelled as Caleb’s fingers also resumed on the keyboard.“It was just a few seconds, I’m sure you had me covered” Caleb replied grinning.“It’s not my fault that Mr Nate here is an unfeeling human and a cold ice snowman, a good looking snowman by the way. Why would she want to claw at me?” Phillip asked and Caleb burst into laughter.“Someone made a post on the school forum, they think y’all are gay or something” Caleb replied making Phillip pause slightly before he chuckled and resumed playing the game.“I should make a reply like this, If I
Caleb and Phillip exchanged glances watching the third boy seating opposite them scroll through his phone without saying another word. Nathaniel was averse to humans,he would develop rashes on his arms and on his legs if he got close to people. It was one of the many reasons why people were forbidden into his space but the main reason was that he absolutely hated having strangers and unfamiliar people in his space.“Kelvin is throwing a party, y’all gonna show up?” Caleb asked, breaking the delicate silence.“Kelvin?” Phillip asked and Caleb nodded his head.“He wanted Nathaniel to come by the way, '' Caleb replied, turning to the third boy who turned to him and raised his eyebrow.“He said upstairs would be free for you to use. And you can use his game room too” Caleb added and Nathaniel turned back to scrolling through his phone.“So are we going or not?” Caleb asked again and Phillip shrugged.“Well, there's space for Nate to avoid every other human and there are games too. It’s fi
Like Samantha had said, by the time Sia was stepping out of her room with a towel over her head to dry her hair, Samantha was closing the door behind her and bringing the takeouts to the dining table.“You ordered this much?” Sia asked, staring at the amount of food on the table. Samnatha grinned in reply.“I’ll leave some in the fridge so that I can microwave them tomorrow morning and eat before going to school”Sia raised her eyebrow at the thought and nodded her head. She never made food at home, she slept over in her mom’s ward in the hospital and rushed home to go to school in the morning. If she remembered, she would buy a cup of coffee and that was what she would take until it was break time and Smaantha dragged her to the cafeteria.“So I ordered prawns and crabs as well. You like seafood right?” Samantha asked and Sia turned to look at her in surprise.“You rarely use your phone but the few times you’ve used it, I always see you scrolling through sea food. This is nothing com
