Chapter 28: Locked

Emily woke up feeling more energetic than usual. The soft morning light came through the window, warming the room. She stretched and sat up, then looked around.

The bed was empty.

Denovon wasn’t there.

She got up and walked over to the desk. Her laptop was still open from last night. She tapped the mouse and the screen lit up.

She opened the documents she had been working on for days.

Her eyes widened.

Everything was done.

Denovon had completed it. Every missing piece was filled in, organized, and ready for presentation.

She smiled, quietly grateful.

She hadn’t expected him to help this much, but now she was even more determined to do well.

After taking her bath and getting dressed, she packed everything she needed into her bag. She wore a simple white blouse tucked into a black pencil skirt. Neat, professional. Her hair was tied back.

Today’s meeting was very important. She needed to prove herself again. Some people still doubted her ability. She had to show that she earned her place
