I slowly opened my eyes, feeling a gentle pulse in my chest. It felt strange, yet soothing. My new heart was working, beating with a rhythm that still felt foreign to me. It had been weeks since the heart transplant surgery, but I still couldn't quite believe that I had been given a second chance at life. I turned to the hospital room window. The morning sun warmed my pale skin. The fresh air from outside mixed with the distinct smell of antiseptic. I was still here, in this cold white room, waiting for the doctor to tell me that I was strong enough to go home. My presence in this room felt like a reminder, a symbol of the struggle I had been through. The door to my room opened. A nurse entered, smiling warmly. "How are you feeling today?" I sighed. "A little better." She nodded. "The doctor will be here shortly. Today might be your day to go home." My heart—or perhaps the heart of another person that now belonged to me—began to beat faster. Home. But where? My life before this had been nothing but a series of medical procedures and the fear of death. I had lost so much, including my self-confidence. My feelings were a mix of gratitude and anxiety. Not long after, the doctor entered with a man I had never seen before. He was tall, wearing a light blue shirt with rolled-up sleeves, his hair slightly tousled, but the smile on his face was warm and reassuring. His presence brought a positive aura that made me feel a bit calmer. "Good morning," he said. His voice was low and deep. "I’m Sean. Nice to meet you." I frowned, confused. "Who are you?" The doctor smiled. "Sean is a donor and supporter at this hospital. He often comes to check on the progress of transplant patients." I didn’t know what to say. This man was looking at me in an unusual way. It was as if he saw something more than just a frail body in a hospital bed. There was sincerity in his eyes that made me feel comfortable. "How do you feel after the surgery?" he asked. I hesitated for a moment, then answered honestly. "Weird. I feel like... this isn’t my heart." He nodded slowly, then moved closer and squatted beside my bed. "But that heart beats for you now. That means you’ve been given a new chance." I looked at him, feeling something in his words touch my heart. "Why do you care?" He smiled, but there was something dim in his eyes. "Because I know how it feels to lose something precious and find hope in unexpected places." His words resonated with my soul, making me reflect. I didn’t fully understand what he meant, but there was something about him that made me feel... not alone. This sudden emotional connection changed my perspective on life. Days passed. I was finally allowed to go home, even though going home meant staying alone in a quiet little apartment. My room felt empty, and there were times when the loneliness was so painful. I didn’t have many friends, and my family didn’t care much. But Sean kept showing up in my life. He visited me, brought food, and took me for walks in the park so I could enjoy the fresh air. At first, I felt awkward. Why was he doing all this for me? But over time, I began to accept his presence as something natural, as if he was indeed meant to be in my life. One day, while we were sitting on a park bench, I asked, "Why do you keep coming?" He turned to me, his eyes looking straight into mine. "Because I want you to know that you’re not alone. I want you to know that your life is worth living, that your heart now is a gift you shouldn’t waste." I bit my lip. A warm feeling spread in my chest. "Thank you..." He smiled. "You know? Your heartbeat is the most beautiful gift." That sentence echoed in my mind. I had never thought someone could see me like this, considering my existence as something valuable. There was warmth in his words that made me feel more alive. Time passed, and my feelings for Sean grew. I didn’t know exactly when I began to realize that I was falling in love with him. He was there in every step of my recovery, in every fear and hope that arose in my heart. His presence gave me a strength I had never possessed before. Until one day, he proposed to me. It was simple, without any extravagance. We were just standing on the balcony of my apartment, enjoying the sunset, when he took my hand and said, "I want to spend my life with you. Will you marry me?" Tears welled up in my eyes. I had never imagined that someone would love me like this, with all the wounds and fears I carried. I felt like a dream come true. I nodded. "Yes." And so, a few months later, we got married. It wasn’t a grand wedding. Just the two of us, a few close friends, and the happiness I felt for the first time in a long time. An atmosphere filled with love and hope enveloped our marriage. I stood beside him, wearing a simple white dress, listening to the vows he spoke with sincerity. "I love you, not because of the heart in your chest, but because of you. Because of who you are." I believed him. For the first time in my life, I felt whole. And thus, our story began, with promises and hopes that this was not just temporary happiness, but the beginning of something greater. We were both determined to live this life with meaning. After the wedding, my life changed drastically. Sean was not just my husband, but also my best friend. He helped me rediscover my lost self. We planned a future together, although sometimes the shadows of the past still haunted me. One afternoon, as we sat on the terrace of our home, Sean said, "You know, life is full of surprises. Sometimes, we have to accept what we cannot control and find beauty in it." His words made me think. I began to realize that although my life started from a tragedy, it also gave me the chance to see the world in a different way. Every heartbeat now held a deeper meaning. We decided to travel to places we had always wanted to visit. Each trip brought us closer together. We laughed, shared stories, and felt a happiness we had never imagined before. Sean even took me to beautiful locations, places where we could enjoy nature and remind us of the wonders of life. Each new experience strengthened our bond. However, not every day went smoothly. One time, I encountered health issues that brought me back to the hospital. Worry haunted both of us, and I felt like I was back to square one. Sean was always by my side, strengthening me with his presence. "This is just temporary," he said, holding my hand. "I will always be with you, no matter what happens." His words became a source of strength for me.By the time Caleb came downstairs to eat, Camile was already sitting and eating at the table. He had said he would be in his office doing some work but when he got there, he couldn't even turn on his laptop, he just sat staring into space. Her thoughts and images just flooding his mind yet she was not the only person on his mind tonight, there was someone else, it was the lady he brought home. She seemed to be the one evoking this memories yet she was also occupying his mind. He wants to shot her out and keep her out of his mind. But he couldn't even concentrate on that.He wasn't sure now if he made the right decision by bringing her to his home. By the time he sat down at the dining table and he was served food, Camile was almost done eating."Thank you for your hospitality Cal, I very much appreciate that you didn't abandon me when I fell and had brought me home to recuperate. I like your place it's really nice and very beautiful." He heard her say."My friend would be coming ove
Caleb came downstairs and went to the kitchen cause he knew he would find the butler there. The butler who was supervising the young employees in the kitchen, bowed his head when he saw Caleb enter the kitchen. "Welcome sir. What took you so long? I hope the young Miss is okay?" "Evening to you too Cyrus, go get the bag that's in the car and bring it here." Caleb told Cyrus, the butler. Cyrus bowed and turned to go get what he was told. "Caleb how was your day? Hope all went well?" An elderly woman who was bent looking for something in the lower cabinets said as she stood up. The elderly woman is Nanny Sophia, she looked more like a middle age of about 40 cause she still looked beautiful and had just little wrinkles on her face but from her aura and the way she carried herself one could tell that she's way more mature than she looks. Sophia had been working for the Campbells for a long time even before Caleb was born, she had served the Campbells for almost thirty three years now
The car entered through the gates into Caleb's compound. The sight of the mansion in the middle of the yard was just so beautiful and breathtaking. It made Camile gasp. It was a clean yard with concreted marble floor, the building so tall. The house was painted in white and that made it looked so beautiful like it was built for an angel. The yard stretched far on either side of the house, maybe it had a patio or garden. She was feeling very excited that she'd be staying here in this beautiful house for the next couple of days.*oh this is going to be great*. When she saw Elena at the park she had guessed her parents were rich because she had the look of a rich kid and she looked so well and composed with her hair down on her shoulders but now she didn't think her assumption was correct, she was wrong so wrong her father had to be super, filthy, madly and devilishly rich. This house is more beautiful than some castles she had seen in Disney princesses movies and cartoons. Wow she loved
Mrs Anderson stood outside with Celine after the call with Camile ended. Sigh "I hope your sister would be alright. She has not left us in a long time, so I'm worried she might worry too much of how we'll fare since she's not here.""Yes Camile can be like that but she's also strong, you know that and this wasn't planned she knows it too, it's not her fault I hope she understands that. I also hope she takes things easy on her side because if she continues worrying like this about us it'll be too much for her to handle and it may bring her down. And you Mom you worry too much that's why she worry a lot too. She got that from you. Calm down Camile is no longer a child and she'll do well for herself. See much does, she can handle anything on her own so don't worry she'll be fine. If you fall sick you know she will abandon the interview and rush down here and we don't want that for her so stop worrying and relax ok. Celine told her mother. Although she was worried about how Camile will co
