Chapter 3: The John Family

“Who dares to interfere in the matter of Young Master William?” 

The man who was just beaten shouted angrily.

Hearing the other's mention of Young Master William, Galvin was also startled. The person they mentioned must be the John family's son, William John. Galvin didn't mind too much. He ran to help Azura up.

“Azura, are you okay?”

Vomiting for a while, Azura is also conscious. She recognized the person in front of her. This was her best friend, Galvin. Seeing someone she could trust, she burst into tears.

“Don't cry. I'll take you away from here.”

“Do you consider us invisible?” 

Somehow William was right behind Galvin and Azura.

Galvin is also a bit scared. Everyone knows William is a bad guy, even a bit cruel. Today he hopes to protect Azura well.

“Young master, Azura is just a pitiful person. I hope you can forgive her.”

“What if I don't forgive her?”

“I can only protect her with all my might.”

William smiled sarcastically, watching Galvin shield Azura.

“Hit that guy for me.” 

William ordered, immediately four people to come to fight Galvin. Azura watched as Galvin was beaten miserably on the ground. She can only cry for help.

Fortunately, there is a police patrol nearby. William is not afraid of the police, but he is worried that his father will find out about his evil deeds.

He angrily stood up, glaring at Azura before leaving.

“Don't let her fall into my hands.”

The policeman and the people around ran over. But when the police asked what had happened, no one dared answer. The policeman also understood and did not pursue further. Everyone helps Azura take Galvin to the hospital.

Seeing Galvin lying on a hospital bed covered in bandages, Azura bowed her head in apology.

“If not at me, you won't be beaten like this.”

Galvin smiled softly. He said: “I'm fine.”

He couldn't help asking her: “Why are you there? What happened to you and William?”

Azura tells her story to Galvin. When he heard that she had to marry Vincent, he was heartbroken.

He and she are best friends, two people studying together since high school. She is gentle and lovely. She makes him always notice and protect. She is often bullied. He knows her plight is pitiful. So, after all these years, he still cares about her.

He loves her, but because his family is poor. He dared not confess to her. So far, he has a stable job. But she has to marry someone else. His heart is broken, but he will still bless her.

“This time is sensitive. You don't go out of the house alone. Do you want to go home?”

“But you were hospitalized because of me. How can I leave you and go home?”

“If you don't go home now, something big will happen. I'm fine. Azura came home early.”

Azura was still worried about him, but she obeyed him and went straight home. Azura just arrived at the gate. Aurora rushed over and grabbed Azura's arm.

“You want to run away, don't you?”

Azura looked at Aurora's face so fiercely, Azura replied in a low voice.

“I'm just going for a walk, don't worry, I will marry Vincent.”

“Of course, you should marry him. He's both rich and handsome. That's good for you.”

Azura angrily looked at his sister.

“If he's so good, why don't you marry him yourself?”

“Are you trying to argue with me?”

Aurora was about to rush over and slap Azura, but Azura dodged in time.

“I still have to meet the John family tomorrow. You beat me to death. There will be no one to replace you to meet Vincent.”

Azura went up to her room. It was the first time in ten years... Azura dared to stand up against Aurora.

When Meredith got home, Azura heard Aurora tell him that Azura bully her. Meredith neither went up to Azura's room nor scolded her. Simply because he never cared about her.

Only tomorrow, she will marry Vincent, and she will have nothing to do with this family anymore. Poor Azura, she's just Aurora's replacement to marry a disabled stranger Vincent.

She stayed up all night, sitting in front of the window. She looks at the night sky with a few stars. The dawn gradually dawned with the sound of birds singing and blooming flowers. The girl was prepared by her mother for a lovely dress.

She sat in the car for her father to take her mother to a fancy restaurant. There, she meets her husband's parents. But Vincent didn't come to see her.

“So sorry, Vincent can't go. It's just us today.” Lady John spoke first.

"It's okay. We want the two of us to meet for dinner today." Meredith smiled lightly and continued

"Azura quickly says hello to everyone." Kaylin pulled Azura's hand in front of everyone.

Hearing Kaylin says that the girl in front of Azura was not Aurora, Mrs. John was surprised.

"Who is this?"

“This is my youngest daughter.”

Kaylin stole Meredith's words and quickly answered Mrs. John's question. The John family is not happy about this. Before that, they had never heard of Meredith having two daughters.

"Aurora didn't come today?" Mrs. John deliberately asked.

“The marriage of two families was predetermined. But that person doesn't have to be Aurora.” 

Kaylin a smile was deliberately aimed at Azura. She wants to make the John family dislike Azura. Azura's mother doesn't want her to be happy. Why does Azura's mother hate her so much? What did she do wrong?

The John family doesn't like Azura but still lets her marry Vincent. The two families are not happy to eat dinner. In the end, the John family left in anger.

They told Meredith they weren't going to have a wedding because Vincent's legs couldn't walk. However, Meredith agreed.

A girl who got married but couldn't hold a wedding party. How miserable is Azura?

Poor Azura. Her mother will ask the driver to take her to Vincent's house tomorrow morning.

She will become Vincent's wife even though she has not met him once.
