Destinee POV.

I wake to birds chirping and a bright sun. Blinking, I see I’m in a forest. I ran again last night after my encounter with Alpha Asshole. Standing up, I dust my hands on my jeans and walk back.

“Destinee.” Aura speaks softly. I have nothing to say to her right now.

“Please Babe, I’m sorry.” Again, I don’t answer her. I keep walking. “Fine, don’t speak. I will do it.” I rolled my eyes at her.

“Look, what I said last night I am truly sorry, but understand I have wanted my mate for years and being close to him is making me want him more. There’s nothing I can do about it. I shouldn’t have pulled rank on you last night. I was wrong.” Sighing at her words, I keep walking.

The mind link opens and the frantic voice of Sadia flitters in. “Destinee, where are you?” I huff shit.

“I’m ok, I needed to clear my head. Last night, I slept in the forest. I’m on my way back. Everything ok?” I ask, feeling guilty for having her worry about me.

I’m confused. Why is she acting as though she doesn’t understand what pack life is like?? She’s always lived in a pack until 2 years ago when she became rogue. Sure she was stripped of her position and made Omega, but she had a far more privileged life beforehand - one she thrived in.
