"What!?" Devlin demanded, jerking back too.

Faith cleared her throat. "Nothing," she muttered.

"You've been acting weird all day. One would think I was trying to kidnap you." He didn't start the vehicle, turning instead to look at her.

"Sorry, I'm fine."

"Are you sure you can take the lessons today? Maybe we should reschedule."

Faith felt herself begin to warm up, a soft flush of heat, not the rush of electricity she felt before. This was the side of him that made her begin to see him in a new light.

For all his arrogance and annoying attitude, Devlin was a caring person. He just hid his nice acts under a cocky attitude.

"I'm fine. You don't have to worry. I can take the lessons." Her mind screamed the opposite. No! You can't take the lesson. You can't afford to be in a room alone with him. Not the way you're feeling.

She sighed quietly. He nodded, strapped himself in and drove out of the diner's parking lot.

"So what did you think?" He asked mere seconds later.
