I stayed behind at Jasmine’s to wait for Claire. Mason said the course would take about two hours so I thought I’d work on the dinner arrangements and wait here rather than come back later. I sit in my bed, fuming in anger and I analyze the photo again. Claire was sitting at Leonardo’s bedside. Her hand places gently over his as he’s unconscious as her belly sitting in her lap. The idea of sleeping alone was tormenting me as I went over the electronic documents for the new house in my office. I felt the need to keep busy and be productive whenever Claire wasn’t around so I dove into work and projects to distract myself. This project was exponentially more important though. After a long and damned day, I’m returned to the facility in which I was originally attacked. I make it back to my room and slide into my bed. I feel a heaviness in my chest and anger clouds my vision. I was untouchable, unshakeable and intimidating once upon a time. I’ve become a shell of the woman I once was. After a few hours of trying to convince Charlotte to file charges to no avail, I leave to visit Claire at Leonardo’s. Charlotte would be released and transported back to the mental facility and assessed for any additional mental disorders as she just suffered a traumatic incident. I drive in silence, thinking about this Julia woman. What would push her to defend Claire to this extent? Was there something she witnessed or experienced that could have triggered her response towards Charlotte? I try looking up some things while sitting in Leo’s driveway and I find what looks to be correlation.
