That weekend, Kane personally cooked breakfast for Aria.

"It's delicious!" Aria's eyes lit up with delight after just one spoonful of the creamy oatmeal.

"Then have more. You've lost weight lately," Kane said, brushing his hand against her cheek with a faint frown.

Ever since her pregnancy began, Aria hadn't gained much. Whatever little weight she'd put on would vanish within days, leaving only her belly growing rounder.

"Really?" She flashed him a playful smile. "That's great! After the baby, I won't even need to worry about dieting."

"I'd rather you put on a few pounds." Kane shot her a look, then softened, ruffling her hair. "Were you like this when you were pregnant with Basia?"

"Hmm… pretty much." Aria hesitated, then left it at that.

He could tell she was holding something back. His voice dropped lower, smoother, brushing against her like velvet. "Aria, tell me. Please?"
