It was a cool Tuesday evening and the air conditioning in the halls was warm. I clutched my cardigan tightly around me while I made my way out of the classroom and headed for the receptionist's desk. 

"I guess it's time for me to call it a night, Wendy. Want to leave with me? I can give you a ride home," I said while putting today's register on her desk.

She shook her head and offered an apologetic smile. "I still need to sort out the ledgers so, I will be staying a little longer."

"I understand. With all the current renovations and projects going on, the work must be piling up. Please remember to take a break when you need to."

"Regardless of the workload, you can rest assured that I've got it under control. By the way, I heard that you want a new floor to be built?"
