I had been in the studio for quite a while, working on a new painting, but this one wasn’t for sale, and I wasn’t going to post it on my normal accounts.

Ever since I was a senior, I started that anonymous account on social media and posted paintings I worked on without mentioning that I was the one who made them. After the first year, the account took off, and I sold numerous paintings for five figures.

I didn’t tell anybody anything about that account because I knew that if my family found out about it, they’d make it their mission to sabotage my work.

This account had given me the opportunity to save up a lot of money—the money I had planned to use when I decided to leave everything behind, but then John surprised me with the whole marriage thing. I had to agree because I knew if I didn’t, John would make it his mission to make me unemployed for the rest of my life.

No one would risk their business for a newbie artist, so I agreed to marry Declan for a specific time, and during tha

“This feels so good,” I murmured as the masseuse worked on my back.“I know. I needed this,” Lana said with so much relaxation in her voice.Lana called me yesterday, asking me if I wanted to go with her to the Marlow Club—an elite social club that was known for being pretty selective about its members. I was already a member since my father was a member, but I rarely went. When Lana called, she suggested coming here to go to the spa. Since I hadn’t gone out with her in a while, I agreed. Who would say no to a good massage anyway?“This week has been hectic. I needed something to make me relax,” she told me.“Can’t say the same, but I can’t say no to a massage,” I said, giggling a little. I was living in a dream—a fairytale I never thought could come to life.Declan told me he loved me exactly six days ago, and even though our routine had been the same—somehow things had become better. I couldn’t exactly point out what kind of change took place, but I felt lighter and happier. I felt

“Oh God,” Declan mumbled with a smile on his face before inclining his neck back when I walked out of our walk-in closet.“Is the dress okay?” I asked, twirling.“It’s not about the dress, flame.” He approached me. “It’s all about the woman wearing the dress. You look magnificent.” My cheeks reddened as I looked down. Nobody boosted my self-confidence the way Declan did. His birthday was five days ago, and ever since that day, I had a feeling that there was something he wanted to tell me, but something was holding him back.I was a curious cat and wanted to know what he had been hiding from me, but at the same time, I respected his privacy, so I wasn’t going to pressure him or try to find out on my own.“Aren’t you the sweetest?” I murmured before my lips met his. It was a soft brush, yet it was still sweet. He told me last night that he wanted to take me on a date, and of course, I wasn’t going to miss this opportunity. I loved the dates he organized.Declan and I walked out of th

Nobody had ever thrown me a surprise birthday party before, but I guess being married to Kendra came with lots of perks.“Are you the mastermind behind all of this?” I wondered as I looked at my gorgeous wife.“Me?” She feigned a shocked expression. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” A smile was fighting its way to her lips, making me laugh.“Come here,” I muttered, pulling her toward me. I wrapped her in my arms as I kissed her. I could never get enough of this woman. She had made my life a hundred times better in a matter of mere months. I didn’t know what I’d do without her. Before her, my life was a mixture of black, white, and grey. Now that I had her, she added colorful hues that gave my life all that it had been missing. As more days passed, I became more certain that what I felt for her was more than love. People fell in and out of love all the time, but I knew that what I felt for her would never change. It was deeper than the ocean and stronger than anything in life.

“Wake up, birthday boy!” I threw myself on my husband’s body, causing him to groan. Instead of pushing me, he had me in a body lock. “Come on. Stop being lazy,” I poked his nose and caught a small smile on his lips.“You’re adamant about getting me out of bed, huh?” His sleepy voice was so raspy. I loved it.“Yes, so wake up, pretty boy,” I said, and he opened his eyes.“I’m officially thirty-two, flame. I think the word boy doesn’t suit me.” The smile on his face was to die for. Would it be too soon if I told Declan that I loved him?Things were moving a bit too fast between us, but they didn’t feel wrong. I loved what he was doing to me. I loved the way he made my heart dance with his sweet gestures and heart-warming words.“No, you’re my pretty boy,” I insisted, making him laugh. He pulled himself up and pulled me with him.“If I’m your pretty boy, I like being called a boy by you.” He kissed my cheek before turning me to the other side like I weighed 5 pounds and got out of bed.“

“Kendra,” I felt somebody’s lips on my cheek, causing me to wake up. My vision was slightly blurry, but then it cleared, and I saw Declan sitting beside me on the bed.“What’s going on? What time is it?” I frowned, slowly sitting up. Had I slept in? For the second night in a row, I didn’t sleep beside him. I wanted him to understand that I wasn’t his punching bag.He got angry at me because my ex sent me flowers, as if I had something to do with it. And I absolutely despised the questions he asked me because they made me feel like he was accusing me of cheating on him.“It’s pretty early, but can you come with me?” he asked me. He was dressed in some sweatpants and a plain T-shirt. I looked at my phone and frowned when I saw it was almost five in the morning.“Let me wash my face first. Do I need to change or something?” I asked, getting out of bed. I hated waking up this early, but maybe there was something important.“You don’t need to change,” he said with a smile, and I nodded. He

I walked into the flower shop, determined to get answers. The sooner I did that, the faster I could get home to apologize to Kendra.“Good afternoon,” I said, heading to the woman I found in the shop.“Good morning, sir. How may I help you?” she said with a smile. “My wife received a bouquet from your shop yesterday,” I started, and she nodded, waiting for me to continue what I had to say. “The problem is, the card stated that it was from her ex, and he said that he didn’t send her anything.” Her expression changed.“We don’t ask our customers about their relationship with the person they’re sending the flowers to,” she replied.“I want to know who sent the flowers to my wife,” I said, cutting to the chase. I didn’t have time to waste.“I’m afraid I can’t disclose such information,” the woman replied. She wasn’t going to make it easy for me, but that was fine. I knew how to get what I wanted.“Listen, either tell me who sent the flowers, or I will make sure you lose your precious sh
