Anesha's POV

The meeting goes on smoothly. Ruby says nothing as Sophie sits, quivering in embarrassment. My boss keeps glancing at me. His gaze lingering on my lips and then lower. I twist away from him, pulling the blazer closer. Maybe I shouldn't have dressed up today. For the past few months, his eyes have been fixed on Ruby even though he took out his anger on me. I have no intention to be the object of his unwanted attention again.

When it's finally over, I retreat to my desk, finally able to breathe. The silence in the office is no longer suffocating but I stay on guard.

“Anesha.” I jump. A coworker drops a stack of files on my desk with a too bright smile. “Can you help me with these? You're not so busy, are you?”

I pause midway and look at my table, drowning in files. “I am busy.”

Her brows furrow. “Well, so am I and the boss needs these by tomorrow. Honestly, you're just faster.”

“Why should I?”

“Because i don't know how to do it right!”

“Then I guess you'll have to

  • The Billionaire's Naughty Christmas Bride    BULLY

Anesha's POVI should have stayed at home today. The air in the office is different now. Stiff. Cold in a way the thermostat can't explain. Only the sounds of fingers on keyboards echo all around me. But I know. The moment I lift my head up, I'll see it. Eyes filled with venom pointed right at me. I keep my head buried in my computer, refusing to look up. This isn't new. I wasn't exactly liked before. While I was dating Max, I was hanging by a thread everyday. My boss would take out his frustrations on me and then flip the switch and be kind and touchy when he likes. And when I told Max about it, he'd told me to put my head down and focus on work. That I was reading too much into it. If I tried hard enough, I could fade in the background. So I did. I didn't want to fight with anyone so I kept my head down and did my work as diligently as I could. Still, nothing changed. My boss still bullied me and my coworkers ignored me. Even though I was dating Max, I never asked for extr

  • The Billionaire's Naughty Christmas Bride    KEEP YOUR ENEMIES FAR AWAY

Deimos' POVThose words paralyze me. My heart starts racing in my chest. The voice is robotic but for a moment, I can hear him. In my ears. In my head. I'm thrown back to the last time I saw him. The day I turned my back on him. The day he disappeared. I can still see his hands stretched out with that smile. That damn smile. The robotic voice laughs at me. “Why so quiet, Deimos Escarrá? Are you hoping dear Eric is alive?” I let out a breath, shaking in anger. The laughter echoes in my ears even as I try to calm myself. “Or are you relieved? Happy that he's sitting tight in the grave you put him?” My hand tighten around my phone like a vice. “You son of a bitch. Who the fuck are you?”“A friend. Someone who only has your best wishes at heart.”His words halt the thoughts racing in my head. I look back at the screen. Waiting for a name to pop up. Hoping to catch a sight of this person through it. But the cold black glass reflects my own face. “Tell me your name.” The voice hums

  • The Billionaire's Naughty Christmas Bride    THE WINNING SIDE

Deimos' POV I walk into the building feeling good for the first time in months. Murmurs ripple around me. Men and women alike scurry out of my path, head bowed. I'm running through my itinerary for the day when someone stands in front of me, blocking my path. I look up and find Mr. Cortez, one of our founding stakeholders and a thorn in my flesh. He's one of the handful of stakeholders who don't believe I should inherit the company because I'm a “halfblood”. He and his band of merry men who are too scared to go against him joined up with my stepmother and have posed difficulties every step of my way. There's no reason he'd have to be here. Unless... He looks up at me with a scowl. “I'm told you weren't in yesterday. How can you leave the company without a word?” “A word? To who?” I tower over him easily. “Who do I need to report myself to?” “We've called for a stakeholders meeting.” I cast a glance at Stanley

  • The Billionaire's Naughty Christmas Bride    MOTHER KNOWS BEST

Anesha's POV Damn it all to hell! I spring out of bed. I'm going to be late again. Deimos is probably at work right now and if I don't hurry, I'm going to miss it for the whole week. Not that I was going to get punished for it but still. I really don't want to have issues with my coworkers. I sprint to the bathroom, have my bath as fast as I can and wear the first thing I see in my wardrobe. I stare at my jewelry for a long time and go for the cheap ones I've always worn before rushing downstairs. Deimos is on a phone call when I get there. He turns to me with a smile and I have to steel myself against his charms. It doesn't work. I tell myself I'm only flushed because I'd run out. I move to the fridge to grab a fruit juice before heading out. There's egg toast and my favorite juice on the table. “I thought you'd want to sleep in today.” I turn at the sound of his voice. He looks so put together, I'm almost of

  • The Billionaire's Naughty Christmas Bride    PARTNERS IN CRIME

Deimos' POVEric Escarrá is alive? The day I'd walked into the Escarrá house, I was 15 years old. My mother had only passed away two weeks ago. Her funeral was a quiet and quick one. My father came to meet me at the Cemetery in one of the flashiest cars I'd ever seen and taken me to his house to meet his wife. This would be your new home now, he'd said. That was the first time I'd met Eric. While his siblings stood behind my stepmother in fear and worry, Eric smiled at me at her side and asked me my name. Not a hint of fear or worry in his eyes. He even seemed pleased. A week later, he was gone. A ski experience gone horribly wrong. There was an avalanche and he disappeared underneath all that snow. My stepmother searched everywhere for him. Slipping into depression. Blaming my existence for his disappearance. Putting me through hell, and all this while, he was alive?!Who gave him the right to come back now that I finally had what I wanted within my reach?!I shook silently with
