living My Dream life.

Ashely POV

I walked up the aisle with my head high, feeling so elated. The wind of joy swept me off my feet and left me beaming from one direction to another. I couldn’t be more proud of myself than I was, seeing all my dreams come together in one day. The sweet and welcoming atmosphere brought goosebumps to my body, screams, and claps from notable men and women who stood to usher me in, put me in another realm that only I can explain. The paparazzi’s all around kept flashing beams of light on me to capture the moment. I turned my gaze to see the love of my life sauntering gorgeously by my side with my arms wrapped around his and a wide smile that engulfed his well-shaped face as though it was our wedding. “This can only be a dream,” I murmured beneath my breath. But then, was brought back to reality by the screams of people. Gave out a wide grin as more echoes thundered into my ear. a moment I have worked for all my life, and seeing it finally come to pass it’s a feeling that’s out of the world, “I know my parent would be the happiest seeing their only daughter walk through this part.” As soon as the thought came in, I darted my glare with a wide smile over the bussing crowd and stopped the moment my gaze got to the reserved table kept for my parents. I noticed it was empty, I immediately checked my time and realized it was past time for their arrival. I couldn’t place my mind to what would have held them. Different thoughts flooded my head making my once bright face gradually turn into a frown “what kind of parents would leave their only child on her special occasion” I grumbled under my breath as steam of tears gathered in my eyes. I knew their absence wasn’t on purpose, and the more I thought about it the more worried I became.

Immediately, I got snapped out of my thought by a voice that sounded so romantic and enticing. I couldn’t help but position my mind and my body back to the happy atmosphere, in order not to send a bad signal to the people watching or ruin my day. It is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and I was going to enjoy it to the fullest.

“With excitement in my heart, I want to introduce to you all, the new host of the marinate show of the almighty Barwindgdar entertainment company Ashley Montenegro. You know, it’s a pleasure to have somebody this intelligent, beautiful, and from a well-respected family handle your favorite show…” while he was talking, my gaze darted toward the empty reserved seat kept for my parent, and the more I looked the more blur and disappointing everything became including what he was saying. I tried to think of reasons that would make them miss my occasion, but none was coming forth .checked myself and gave out a slight sigh with the realization that my phone was on my seat. I suddenly started hearing murmurs from the congregation which jolted me out of my thought back to reality, looked around to see why, and noticed the CEO was done talking and was handing the mic over to me to make a speech. I collected the mic from him with shaky hands and silently prayed that the audience wouldn’t notice how uneasy I felt.

“Thanks to everyone who came out here today to celebrate me, I… I would ensure that the Marinate show becomes even more interesting and educating than it has ever been. I would… would position the show in such a way that more organizations would come to sponsor the program and generate more revenue for Barwindgdar company.” While trying to deliver the best speech, I heard my heart racing as fear of the unknown gripped me, I couldn’t think of possible reasons for my parent absence on this day we have waited for. All I wanted at the moment was to hear from them, but it didn’t seem possible at the moment, as several companies walked up to me to sign an ambassadorial deal. This would have been the happiest day of my life if my parents were here to share in my joy.

The occasion was soon over, and I rushed home leaving my boyfriend confused and unaware . Ran to the family house and noticed a bold written note pasted on the door “Government property, out of reach” I stretched out my hands to pull the note and realized that the key I had to the door, wasn’t fitting in. I couldn’t believe my eyes. “There is a mix-up somewhere? This must be wrongly placed” I murmured beneath my breath, still trembling in fear. Picked up my phone from my bag, and saw 20 missed calls from my mother. “Dam it” I yelled and dialed her number. “Hay mom, what is happening? First, you and dad were not at my occasion, and now the writing note on the door. Can you explain?!” I questioned in a harsh tone. I was in a hurry to pour out my anger on her and didn’t notice that she wasn’t fine. I had lots of things to say to her regarding their absence on my big day but paused the moment I had her sniff in tears.

“Mom!” I called out after some seconds of not hearing from her end.

“Mom, are you there?” at this point I could hear clearly that she was crying, and my heart couldn’t bear the sound of it”

" Run as far as you can because someone is after our lives and he wouldn't stop until he gets his complete revenge," she spoke in a low and shaky voice.

"what! Mom" I bellowed. A beeping sound made it way to my ears. checked my phone and realize she hanged up the call
