Alejandro’s POV

By eleven o’clock at night, my office no longer looks like the office of a CEO. It looks like accounting exploded and nobody survived.

Financial reports cover the conference table. Old ledgers are stacked beside the windows. Receipts. Invoices. Audit logs. Three empty coffee cups. Half a pizza.

Dylan stares at the mountain of paperwork. “…I’m beginning to understand why accountants always look tired.” I don’t look up from the ledger in my hands. “They know too much.”

Camila’s POVThe smell of fresh pancakes fills the dining room before anyone says a word. Mrs. Harper hums happily as she carries another plate to the table, and for the first time in days the house almost feels peaceful again.Maria smiles as she pours herself tea. “I think I’m finally getting spoiled.” Mrs. Harper laughs. “You’ve been spoiled since you arrived.” “I didn’t want to admit it.” “You don’t have to.” Dylan steals a piece of bacon before anyone notices.Mrs. Harper notices immediately. “…Young man.” He freezes with the bacon halfway to his mouth. “…Yes?” “That belongs to everyone.” He slowly puts it back. “I suddenly lost my appetite.” Brian walks into the dining room at that exact moment. He points dramatically. “I saw everything.” Dylan sighs. “I have witnesses now.” Karen follows behind him carrying her coffee. “Honestly, I’m impressed.” “Why?” “You managed to lose an argument with breakfast.” Even Alejandro smiles.“I told you not to challenge Mrs. Harper.” “I believed

  • The Billionaire's Sixty-Day Wife   CHAPTER 88

Alejandro’s POVBy the next morning, the estate barely looks like home anymore. Security vehicles line the driveway, new cameras are being installed along every wall, and guards quietly speak into radios as though we’re preparing for a storm instead of breakfast.Dylan whistles the moment he steps out of his car. “…Either we’re under attack…” He slowly looks around. “…or you finally accepted you’re famous.” I hand him a visitor badge. “It’s the first one.”He clips it onto his jacket. “I liked my second theory better.” The head of security walks toward me carrying a tablet. “Mr. Vega.” “Report.” “We’ve doubled overnight patrols.” He points toward the estate map. “Eight additional cameras.”“Four new guards.” “Perimeter sensors are active.” I nod once. “Good.” “No one gets inside unnoticed.” I hope he’s right. Inside the house, the atmosphere couldn’t be more different.Mrs. Harper stands in the kitchen wearing an apron and an expression that terrifies even professional security guards

  • The Billionaire's Sixty-Day Wife   CHAPTER 87

Camila’s POVThe flowers arrive just after breakfast. Mrs. Harper walks into the dining room carrying a large bouquet of white roses, and the moment I see them, the warmth from my coffee disappears. She stops beside the table. “…Again.” Alejandro immediately looks up. “The same flowers.” I slowly stand. “There’s no card?” Mrs. Harper gently shakes her head. “I haven’t found one.”Dylan walks in halfway through a yawn. “If that’s another mysterious bouquet, I’m officially allergic to romance.” He notices our faces. “…Oh.” “Not romance.” “No.” Alejandro quietly takes the bouquet from Mrs. Harper. “Something else.”He carefully places it on the dining table. Nobody reaches for it. Nobody even smiles. Maria slowly walks in from the hallway. She notices the flowers immediately. “…Those are beautiful.” Then she sees our expressions. “What happened?”“We don’t know yet,” I answer softly. Alejandro begins checking between the roses one stem at a time. “No note.” “No envelope.” “No ribbon.” Dy

  • The Billionaire's Sixty-Day Wife   CHAPTER 86

Alejandro’s POVThe ballroom hasn’t recovered from the anonymous note. Neither have I. The small card now rests inside my jacket pocket, and somehow those five words feel heavier than every financial report waiting back at Vega.Sophia was here that night. I glance toward Camila. She tries to smile at another guest. It doesn’t quite reach her eyes. “You okay?” I ask quietly. She nods a little too quickly. “I will be.”“You don’t have to pretend with me.” A small sigh escapes her. “I know.” Before I can say anything else, the orchestra pauses. The entrance doors slowly open. Every conversation inside the ballroom fades.Someone important has arrived. I don’t need anyone to tell me who it is. Isabella Hart walks inside as though the entire evening belongs to her. Elegant black gown. Diamond earrings. Perfect posture. Perfect smile.Nothing about her suggests she’s worried. Nothing suggests she’s carrying secrets. She simply walks forward as cameras immediately begin flashing. Dylan quie

  • The Billionaire's Sixty-Day Wife   CHAPTER 85

Camila’s POVThe ballroom glows beneath thousands of crystal lights. Live violins drift through the air while elegantly dressed guests laugh over champagne, and for one strange moment it almost feels impossible that secrets and conspiracies exist outside these walls.I smooth my evening gown one last time. “…Is this too much?” Alejandro looks up from adjusting his cuff links. For several long seconds… he doesn’t answer.I tilt my head. “…Alejandro?” He blinks as though waking from a dream. “What?” “I asked if this dress is too much.” His eyes slowly travel back to mine. “…I honestly don’t know what color it is.”I stare at him. “You’ve been looking at me this whole time.” “I have.” “And you didn’t hear a single word.” “I didn’t.” Heat immediately rushes into my cheeks. “You’re impossible.”He smiles quietly. “I’ve been trying to remember how to breathe for the last minute.” I laugh and lightly tap his arm. “Stop saying things like that.” “I’m trying.” “No, you’re not.” “No.”He grins.

Outside, the city lights shimmer through

  • The Billionaire's Sixty-Day Wife   CHAPTER 4

Alejandro's POVI don't expect her to come back. Not because the offer isn't tempting enough. Half a million dollars in treatment and a settlement large enough to change someone's life would tempt almost anyone.I don't expect her to come back because she's Camila Reyes. The woman who looked me in
