Chapter 152: Life and Death Hang in the Balance

Kourtney opened her eyes to find herself tied up in a small, damp room. The smell of rust and dampness filled the room, and there were strange symbols on the walls.

"Finally awake." A cold voice came from the corner of the room and Kourtney looked up to see a mercenary in black camouflage staring at her indifferently.

"What the hell do you want?" Kourtney tried to remain calm, "I don't have what you want."

The mercenary sneered, "We already have enough information, all we want is your scientific data and Compound H's research data. Hand them over and maybe we can spare your life."

Kourtney sneered, "I'm sorry, I didn't know."

The mercenary said viciously, "A beauty like you, don't force me to use bad tactics!"

Just then, the door to the room opened. A tall, imposing man entered, a shining dagger in his hand.

"Let me." The man approached Kourtney with a smug smile, "Your boyfriend's not here, let's see who else can save you."

Kourtney's mind was racing, she knew the situation was getti
