Chapter Ten: A new plan

Rose’s POV

My eyes caught onto the soft rays of sunlight streaming into the bedroom as I began to wake from my sleep. Memories of the previous night were the first thing that flooded my brain, especially the images of Jian taking me to bed. Instantly, I shot up to a sitting position and stared down at myself to see I was still clothed in the robe and nothing seemed to be out of place. With this reassurance, I drew in a deep breath to calm my palpitating heart as I moved to rest my back on the headboard.

Jian.

His name popped into my head again and I found myself smiling. It was a nice name, fitting for his good looks. I had the urge to say it out loud just to know how it’ll sound rolling off my tongue and I did.

“Jian,”
