Chapter 19

Elly

Wood and fire rained down. Elly shielded her face as she tried to catch her breath. People were rushing around pulling each other up off the ground. A pang of fear cut through her. Where was Amber? Static filled the air. The hair on her arms stood straight up. Amber groaned and sat up, Elly gasped as she saw her long hair standing straight up. She lunged at her making the two of them roll as lightning slammed into the ground right where they were just sitting. she looked around and saw continuous streams of electricity hitting the ground all around them. Screams came from the other side of the field.

Cecily and Austin spread out and began organizing people. Within minutes there was a shield forming overhead. The lightning strikes crashed against an invisible wall. The current spiraled out, unable to reach the ground.

“Amber start getting everyone that’s injured into the barn.” Cecily’s voice echoed around like it was coming from a loudspeaker. Elly looked up and saw her eyes g
