Nikolai's POV

I was in my study room when Lev called to inform me that the Medical examiner who carried out the autopsy on Luka had been picked up and locked at one of our secure sites.

He came to the house and picked me before we headed to the location together.

The medical examiner was tied to a chair when we got there. He was likely in his late fifties, bald head, short.

The man was screaming some words I couldn't make out as we entered. He was muffled with tapes.

“Untie him.” I instructed as I pulled a chair closer to sit beside him.

“Sir, I have not done anything, please let me go.” He cried as soon as his mouth was free.

“Slow down, get him some water.” I instructed.

The man gulped down the water nervously.

“Good, do let's start with your name.” I said and crossed my legs.

He swallowed saliva and looked around at the men surrounding us. Aside from Lev, there were six other men in the room.

“Don't worry, no one is going to hurt you as long as you tell us the truth.” I assured.
