Dinner that night was a rambunctious affair between father, mother, and daughter. The domestic staff, most of whom were old employees that Ava knew, smiled fondly and happily at the scene, glad that the boss and his ex-wife had finally made peace with each other.

They were happy for their boss because all of them knew how much Ava’s leaving had affected him, even though it probably served him right since he was the one who asked her to leave in the first place.

However, they all knew what a kind man he was, and no one was perfect. He was the best and most generous boss that anyone could ask for, and every single one of them would rather die than work for someone else.
