Thunder started rumble while they were eating dinner. Sandra checked the weather station and found a storm was coming soon. She looked out the window to see the skies darkening as they continued to sit. “Kimmie, you should hurry home with the twins. I wouldn’t want you to be caught in a downpour. I’ll send some more food for you in case you all get hungry.” While she worked on making several plates for her adult child and her grandkids, she spoke to Kemari. “Are you planning on staying the night in your old room or going home?”

They were in the middle of their second movie when the storm seemed to ease enough for them to head back to his parents place. The two of them looked at each other. It was silent except for the sounds of the movie playing in the background. Shannon angled her head to the left. Her eyebrow was arched. “Did you just threaten me?” Her voice raised with each word.
