"You haven’t done… wait, you’re still a virgin?"

Fred slowly nodded his head, his face burning with embarrassment. He looked down at the floor, hoping it would swallow him. He couldn’t even look at her. Monalisa laughed, not to mock him, but out of surprise. Her laughter was soft and warm, making the tension in the room ease a little.

She stood on her toes so she could be closer to his height and rested her hands on his shoulders. "There is always a first time for everything, Fred. It sounds funny, but honestly, it’s not bad at all. I can wait until you’re ready. I love you more than you know, and you don’t have to be shy about it."

Fred cleared his throat and looked up. His voice was soft. "I’ve waited all my life. I thought I’d be nervous or unsure, but now, I feel ready, and I’m happy it’s you. So yes, I want this."

He leaned in and kissed her gently. Then he held her close and slowly led her to the bed. He stopped overthinking and let himself feel the moment.
