Chapter Seven: Her Honey

Just when his lips were a fraction of an inch away from hers, a knock sounded on the door. And just like that, within the blink of an eye, everything changed. One second Angelina's body heat was skyrocketing to boiling point, and the next, she felt cold and bereft all of a sudden.

With her heart still pounding wildly, she opened the eyes that she wasn't even aware of when she closed them. To her shock, she found Maxwell relaxedly sitting in his characteristic majestic and graceful way on his leather recliner. Then, as another knock sounded, he called out in a calm, baritone voice in that deep British accent of his that she found so attractive.

"Come in."

As Declan, one of the guys from the IT department whom she had gotten acquainted to, came in and proceeded to discuss some issues with the big boss, Angelina just remained standing with her back against the wall, exactly the way Maxwell left her, looking at him in bewilderment.
