Chapter 35Sebastian’s point of view In this life, three things are important to me to be able to survive and remain strong. The first is your sense and how you utilize it at all times, the second is your ability to communicate effectively as well as understand your surroundings, and lastly is how you adapt. I never had a secret security team hired for me. It was a build-up lie to get my freedom and appear powerful so something like this wouldn’t repeat itself. Though after thinking about it, I think it’s a great idea and will consider turning it into a truth thing. I’m gonna find myself a secret security service that works to protect me and fight for me in secret, only in secret. Julie Growan out of fear let me go, and promised not to come after me again if she doesn’t want to end up crippled or hospitalized by my nonexistent men. While I ride back home to clean up in a car she personally gave to me so she could be on my good side and that I’d actually keep to my deal of keeping
Chapter 36Ryan’s point of view Lucky for me I hit a success with my escape out of the house. The stupid guards were too busy chitchatting about each other to notice me speed off in my car. Once I was far from them, I took my phone and quickly dial Seb’s phone number. I have no idea what my mom has done with him, and I forgot to ask that dude about it. My call rang out and there was no answer. I decided to call Donna and inform her about the situation, she could call the cops to report a case on him. And I could lure my mom out and see if she’d fess up to what she’s done with Seb. Donna picked on the first ring, “Are you okay?” Was the first thing she asked, as though she’s been expecting my call and already knew of what happened. “Well yeah, what’s up?” “Seb told me how you guys got kidnapped by your mom. I’ve been trying to get to you since, but your number wasn’t connecting.”“Is Seb okay?” I asked about the part I care deeply about. “Yeah, I spoke to him some minutes ago an
Chapter 37Sebastian’s point of view Still below me in height, has added more muscle than weight, painted the whole visible parts of himself in ink- tattoos. He’s become worse in my view, but better probably in his own twisted mind. “You broke into my home, wired down my security system. Don’t tell me you just wanna say hi, get on with it?” I told him from where I was seated, well relaxed and not a single stress on my face. He tsked repeatedly with a wry grin as he walked closer to where I was, both his hands held behind to hide whatever he doesn’t want me to see yet. “That’s no way to welcome your blood now is it?” His head angled at me like a maniac before he brought to light the hands he had hidden, a gun was in his left arm and he slapped it on his thigh. I looked dully at the gun, then back at his face. “Don’t make me cringe,” I said back in reference to how he called us blood. “We share the same blood from our father, don’t be cruel now Sebastian, acknowledge that.” I did
Chapter 38Ryan’s point of view “How about you start on how you got out of prison,” I suggested from where I’m sat. This is Sam, I’m very familiar with the bastard, but can’t say the same for him. Perhaps the years he’s spent in prison has challenged his memory to forget about some people to the point he’s unable to recognize me anymore. It doesn’t look like he knows who I am, that I’m Ryan. He’s treating me only as an acquaintance of Seb who walked into the wrong moment. He went silent as soon as he heard my input, then suddenly focused his attention on me as if finally his brain clicked on a hint at my familiarity. “You!” He pointed the gun at me with a squinted gaze. “Ah yes I remember!” His face lit up, as he pulled his stance backwards. “What was that your name again? Ryan whatever. Would you look at it, they’re still together after all these years? Finally married to each other or still each other’s stupid best friend?” I watched his eyes trail down to my hand to inspect my
Chapter 39Sebastian’s point of view Here I am, hours later in bed with my wound stitched up and eyes closed while I pretend that I was still asleep so I wouldn’t have to talk to Ryan who has refused to leave my side. Donna too came in awhile back, told Ryan she has to stay back and tie up Sam so he wouldn’t escape while I was taken away for treatment. I just needed Ryan to be gone, I need to collect my thoughts and analyze all that’s been happening recently. I need to sit down with my mind and have a long talk with it. I can’t do that while he’s around and constantly shoving his affections all over my face, if anything- the affections are only confusing me the more. I need to know if I feel the same way about him, heck if I want something with him even. It’s been long, so long now. Though it’s been established that truly his disappearance was not intentional, and rather plotted. However, his return wasn’t jolly enough either. It’s been toots and work since he came back. I don’t
Chapter 40Ryan’s point of view I was truly thirsty and was going to get something for myself to drink, but then I turned back because I thought I should ask Donna if she’d like anything for herself also to drink. I was about to twist the knob when my ears picked on Donna’s voice and what she was saying. Needless to say I heard everything she discussed with Seb, and when I’ve had enough. I opened the door to reveal my presence and ask Seb to tell me what he wants. He had said it out loud to me that he wants me gone, for things to go back to how it was, and I agreed to that terms because I want to force myself to believe that it’ll make him happy. What about my happiness however? It doesn’t matter, it has never mattered. At this point I don’t think I deserve to be happy. I might as well be cursed. The life suddenly felt shallow, like it was insignificant, meaningless and not worth the fight. Like I should give up, and see if there’s a better peace beyond. And if there isn’t and I
Chapter 41 Sebastian’s point of view I see the end and it’s a deadly one, worst is it’s coming for me and there’s no stopping it. When I got back home, tied up Sam has somehow managed his own released. What was left of his presence were the ropes used on him and himself gone like he was never here in the first place. I wonder how he got away. This just means the war has begun, and it’s only the beginning. Only the wicked will win, so the may worst heart prevail. He snuck his way into my fortress harmed and succeeded, I need to make sure that never repeats itself. He has an actual weapon against me, and I not only need to destroy that weapon before it gets out or he’s able to hurt me with it, I also need to send him back to where he should stay rotting in the first place. Donna left me after I’ve gotten discharged because it was late and she needed to deal with some things herself personally. I even told her she could take tomorrow off if she’d like, but knowing who she is, I’m s
Chapter 42Ryan’s point of view I got home and was greeted first with the face of my mother. It’s as if she’s been dreading my arrival and could not wait to jump in my face once she saw me. “Where have you been?” She queried alarmingly, as she rested her hands on the side of her hips to ground an akimbo stance. “I don’t know you tell me, it was you who kidnapped me wasn’t it?” I shook my head at her and simply walked out of her face. I’m too tired to deal with her shits right now.“Ryan get back in here I’m not done talking to you!” She snapped from my behind, but I couldn’t care less so I continued my walk away from her vicinity. I feel like my mother is able to tell my movements because I still live under her roof. Technically not her roof, since this mansion belongs to my biological dead and the ownership has been transferred to my name. But her husband was the first owner, and she lived here before me so I’ll leave the house to her. It’s high time I give myself the privacy I
Chapter 66Ryan’s point of view I could no longer return the day I planned to, not after the attempted murder incident. Marcy was traumatized, a sight forced me to stay back, care for her like the amazing husband that I am and cancel my plan to return home or postponed it. I chose the later, postponed it till the next day instead. The next day came quicker than I anticipated, and I was quick to get back on plane flown to LA. Marcy didn’t bother to escort me this time, still conscious of yesterday’s incident. For the rest of yesterday, I couldn’t get through to Seb or Donna either, for both of them to not have reached out or answered when I called them. I have a feeling there’s something going on over there. My mother was still notably absent, and refused to let me know on whether or not she’s okay and doing good wherever she’s gone to hide. I wonder if she’s in contact with Vivian. Vee, I’m sure she’s back to scheming now that Seb has caught up to her lies. Even if mom isn’t in c
Chapter 65Sebastian’s point of view I already had men on Vivian’s trail, keeping track of her every moves just in case she’d make any that confirms my suspicions about her. Today was however, another day for me to tackle with the bald fuckers on my board committee. Those fuckers are always up to something, but the fear they all have for me is what keeping them all in check. That fear won’t last long, I need to constantly remind them why none of my enemies have ever triumphed. Not now, not never, and not in the nearest future. Donna came in early as usual to prep me up on why the board has requested a meeting. It has to do with the recent rumors of me and Ryan, and how the headlines might affect the growth of their invest. “Seriously they’re just old drunks, don’t mind whatever they have to say. You do you, and remind them who the boss is,” Donna said after she was done going over the few hiccups we’ve been dealing with over the weeks. Other than the alliances I’ve struck with t
Chapter 64 Ryan’s point of view It was finally the time for me to leave. Marcy had came up with a random excuse to keep her family off doubts on why I’ve decided not to spend the promised time I intended to spend with them. Words were a personal problem came up in my business back at home that needs my urgent attention, and that was enough to sway them off any questions and rather came to bade me goodbyes. They are were nice except for the creepy uncle and told me how eager they are to accommodate me next time, which I promised them won’t be long. But between myself and Marcy, my next visit would probably be in the two or one year at least. Marcy has decided to escort me till I board my plane before she leaves back for the palace, and her mere presence had several medias and paparazzi on our trail from the gate of the palace till the airport’s vicinity. “Is this really how it’s always been for you?” I asked in regard to all the cameras pointed at us on our way to a private pl
Chapter 63 Sebastian’s point of view “He is… He is… he is what? Stop that and talk,” I chided in a harsh tone, displeased with her sudden loss of words. I’m dying of curiosity here, and if she’s gonna be speechless, she shouldn’t have got me curious in the first place. “He was a rumored boyfriend of Vivian Growan, Ryan’s sister. And between me and you, they did dated, they were together for a while until the sudden mysterious death of Matthew. The case of his death was never allowed into a full scandal and was quick to bury up so the world never actually knew what happened to Matthew, even till this moment, nobody knows!” She finally conveyed, stuck with a paled expression still. That meant one thing, she wasn’t making this up. She was for real and what she said did happened. “When was this? How many years or months were they together? Is it possible that he survived his death and is back alive? What the fuck is his connection with me? If he wants vengeance, then he should go a
Chapter 62 Ryan’s point of view There’s not much time left for me here, and it’s not like this will be my home forever. So whatever I have in plan to do for Marcy, to save her from her uncle’s schemes, I have to do it now or it’ll be no use. Marcy had called some while ago to let me know that she was done with her interview and that would be with me shortly, I already told her I have an urgent issue to discuss with her, and that I’ll be waiting for her in our room. My phone buzzed and it was my secretary. I took the call with speed, I’ve been expecting her feedback for a while now. “What do you have for me?” I prompted quickly for information. “Good evening Sir, I hope you’re well and-“ “Oh save the pleasantries. What do you have for me?” I cut into her greetings, my curiosity the master of my actions. “It’s not very pleasant Sir. We figured out Matthew Simmons might be operating on a false identity, that their gender might not be what the name implies.” “Are you saying
Chapter 61 Sebastian’s point of view “It’s either you forgive me or I fire you,” I threw at her the moment I saw her walked through the door into my office. I was tired of the malice, as much as I preferred her silence, I hated that she was doing it with a negative mind. I couldn’t care less about her attention, but I just wanted us to be back on a good page. Afterwards, she can go back to ghosting me, that I can pray for. I’ve given her chocolates, gifts, money and any other things I could think of to get her forgiveness. At some point I even told Ryan to talk to her for me, which he did and he told me that she wasn’t interested in talking about the beef between us. Ugh! “What do you mean Sir? Forgive you for what Sir if I may ask?” She feigned ignorance, her brows perked in confusion. “Don’t play dumb with me. I’ve apologized, what else do you want?” I raised my tone a little bit at her, enough to show just how far this little game of hers is starting to annoy me. “Apo
Chapter 60 Ryan’s point of view I might be right about the weird uncle after all, he’s been onto me forty hours later of our arrival. He requested a personal audience with me, but Marcy refused the honor once I told her about it. She said that uncle of hers was not to be trusted or someone nice to be around. Said I must try and avoid him at all cost. Marcy was at an event at the moment, an event that doesn’t much require my presence so I opt for a walk in the gardens instead. A fine chance for me to get a hold of things back at home, I haven’t had the chance to call and speak to Seb since we arrived here. We’ve been stuck with balls, parties, royal events and more. It’s been stressful. Seb finally picked my call, probably at the last ring. “Hello,” his cold handsome voice rang out into my ears. “Tell me you’ve missed me,” I asked of him jokingly. “That’s until I’m informed of who this is. Who are you?” He hit back. I chuckled lightly at his words, he’s only playing along
Chapter 59Sebastian’s point of view “Wakey wakey little brother, get out of that dream world already.” I tapped repeatedly on his cheek until his drowsy eyes slowly pulled wide and apart till he jerked at the sight of my face. Good one! He’s awake. His head snapped around for a three sixty room inspection. Oh we’re no longer in his apartment, or even somewhere neat enough to conserve his death. I brought him to my private warehouse, where I’ve gotten most of my darkest shit done.“Where are we? What is this place? You?” His furious gaze trailed back to me, deadly and a sight for me to laugh at. I let out a deep breath before I stepped back from him. “This will either be the place you die or the place where you save yourself,” I began, then turned my back and walked over to the table in the room with us. On the table was a tray that carried various items that I’ve had provided for me to draw on his blood and carve pain into his skins. There we have a blade, dagger, a lot of sharp
Chapter 58 Ryan’s point of view I don’t know if my mom was running away from the house, but she hasn’t been around ever since I got married. Today is the day Marcy and I leave for her home city, and mom still hasn’t show up for me to inform her as well as talk about Seb with her. I spent the whole of yesterday with Seb, so I had time to tell him about the trip and how much I wish he could accompany me. He told me even if Marcy had allow me bring him, he wouldn’t have accepted my invitation because he doesn’t have any business with my contracted wife’s family. I don’t know if mom is scared to confront me or exactly why she has refused to show her face, but it’s starting to get less suspicious and more frightening. Is she okay? I’d ask Vivian about it, but I’m sure she doesn’t care, albeit she’s an exact replica of that woman’s witchy persona. Seb told me he fired her already. And I’m more than happy to hear that, her away from Seb is a long space away from bad things. I cou
