Chapter 7

Sebastian’s point of view

Getting through the night was as hectic as I presumed it would be when I let myself sheltered a drunk guest. Sure he was drunk before he came over, but my treat added to the mood. I’d offer him the luxury of my fridge, where he sampled into his guts my alcoholic beverages and wine.

I had to tuck Xavier into one of my guest rooms later after he’s made a mess of my living room with his puke.

As disgusted as it made me, I tried not to react offensively at the kiss. He was drunk and wasn’t in control of himself, besides it was just a kiss. Bleh!

Though if he had kept making attempts, I sure would’ve honored the thought of throwing him out in the middle of the night.

Dawn came sooner than expected, and I found myself operating on a brief hours of sleep.

When I checked up on Xavier, he was still deep in his slumber while I was already dressed up to start the day. It’s 7am already, when does he wake up?

I left the house with a message from me through my receptionist. Told him to inform Xavier that I’ve gone to work, and that he’s invited to drop by.

When I arrived by the company, Donna was the first to show up by my side.

“You. Are. Trending, Sir,” she spoke enthusiastically as she swiped over the screen of her work tablet, unconscious of her steps as we approached the elevator.

“So half of Atlanta supports your anger and resentment, another half is against you because they’ve always rooted for Ryan, and the rest on the chart are against you for wanting revenge but not on Ryan’s side. So basically Ryan is winning the online reputation fight. Some of his fans are now coming up with ridiculous claims that your truths are fabricated to destroy Ryan, and that you’re a jealous and envy man that needs to be canceled,”

“Donna,” I called for her attention that was pinned on her tab.

“Huh?” She looked up at me.

“The last thing I’d give a fuck about is a newborn baby with teeth, not some online shenanigans. So please, what’s on my schedule for today?”

She chuckled, “Okay but you’ve gotta answer this, is it true you and Ryan use to be boyfriends? I know you said otherwise, but I saw a captured shot of you both in an intimate moment, also the kiss…!!!!”

Emotions paled off my face as I stared with a blank expression, obviously ignoring her question even while her eyes pleaded for me to answer.

She groaned and rolled her eyes. “You have an interview with the NT’s channel,”

“What?”

“And a meeting with the boards,”

“Why?”

“All because you kissed a man. No, because he kissed you.” She laughed manically as she walked out of the elevator.

I followed, but not swiftly.

This is ridiculous. Why would I wanna get interviewed on a News channel, and why would the boards suddenly call up a meeting without my knowledge.

All because of a scandalous night at the governor’s party.

I opened the door to my office and nearly ran mad at the sight of who was seated comfortably in my couch.

“Oh yeah, that’s the last surprise I kept for you,” Donna spoke up from behind me. “Here’s your coffee by the way, cold and iced as liked it, I have a feeling you’re gonna need it.” She winked as she stretched the cup out for me.

I glared murderously at her, “You’re fired, and I’m taking the coffee.” I took the coffee and went into the office.

“Get out,” was the first thing I said to him as soon as he noticed my presence.

I walked over to my desk without acknowledging his existence any further.

He stood up and started walking over. “This is my space Ryan, and as sweet as it would be to have you thrown out aggressively, I have an image to maintain so kindly get out.” My gaze narrowed at the exit while I took a sip out of my coffee.

“I’m not leaving till we hold a civil conversation,” his tone deadpanned.

“One phone call, and my image can suck it.”

“I am not leaving till we talk!” He slammed his hands on my desk in a bang that nearly tip over my cup of coffee.

Disdain rolled into my eyes as they settled on his face, “I don’t have anything to say to you,”

“Well I do, and you’re gonna hear me out.” His face pushed closer to mine.

“Heck no-“

His body crossed fully over the desk as his hand reached for my collar and pulled me close till my face was inch apart from his. His hot breath fanned harshly on my face with his intense gaze locked with mine.

I could hear his heart raced, observe the anxiety in his nerves at the proximity between us.

“Get your hands off me,” my cold tone broke the passion of the moment.

“I didn’t abandon you out of will.” He let go of my collar and stepped away from me. “I was driven away, far away from you. Do you really believe that I wanted to be done with you?” He scoffed, and crossed his arms over his chest.

“At least-“

“How many years now?” I cut in to ask, “You also came back when?” I didn’t wait for him to answer that before o threw another question.

“If you’re not about to manipulate me and lie to me, tell me why now is when you’re just reaching out to explain yourself?”

“Oh and you can’t lie that you’ve tried, because then you’d know that because of you, I never changed my contact number or information since the days of our college. I even became more reluctant to change it after your disappearance, I thought to myself then you might decided to reach out all of a sudden so I have to be available.” I pushed back the chair I was sat on as I rode to my feet.

“For the sake of who we were to each other, I’ll have my guards escort you out nicely. But if you dare to show your face around me ever again, then who we were can suck it.” I hit on the button that immediately pushes a signal to the head guard that his attention is needed in my office.

“Wait, so that wasn’t enough for you to hear me out? Instead you don’t believe me?” He sounded amused, who does he want to make a fool out of? Cause it can’t be me.

“Oh sure I can believe you, but that’ll be after I’ve seen and met with a unicorn.” I flashed him a sardonic smile.

The office door swung open as my men walked into the scene.

“Kindly walk out Mister Growan here, and see to his absolute exit,” I relayed, gesturing at Ryan.

“What’s gonna take for you to believe me and hear me out?” He asked, genuinely curious.

“Nothing much, except I’ll never believe you. Now get him the hell out of here!”

Chapter 80 Ryan’s point of view I’ve avoided my office long enough so it felt a little bit unusual as my feet padded down the hallway that led to my office. Bows and greetings flew my way till I arrived at the sole entrance of my workspace. My secretary was nowhere in sight, probably yet to clocked in since I’ve been scarce in attendance and wouldn’t be around to criticize her tardiness. I don’t even care. I just want her around so she can update me on the team’s progress about extracting Matthew Simmons’s hidden identity. I haven’t called her about it in a while and she hasn’t also. I’m curious if it’s because there was no update or if there was but it wasn’t important enough for my knowledge. I slept at Selena’s yesterday. We binged watch a show she called her favorite, and debate over topics while we were at it. I’ve kind of missed her. She’s actually so fun to be with it. I can’t believe she used to be a dull and reserved child growing up, it’s absurd. My mom hasn’t called

Chapter 93Ryan’s point of view “What is it? No work today?” Mom quizzed from she stood at the door, leaned against the frame with her arms crossed inches below her chest. I raised my head up to look at her, wondering why she had a smirk on and brighter than usual. There’s no need to tell her I’m staying in today because I don’t want to face my reality just yet. I want a day off, all to myself, with my world’s shenanigans not shoved deep in my face. So instead of replying her, I returned my attention back to the random research I was reading about. Yeah that’s the weird thing about me. While everybody spends their off day watching a movie or a show, I love to pick a topic and research on, dig up stuffs and know all there is to know about that topic, then discard it when I’m done. That’s my own way of clearing my head. Doing that shifts my total focus away from my real world problems. Watching a movie doesn’t, I can definitely still think about my problems while my eyes are burie

  • The CEO’s Private Desires    Chapter 92

Chapter 92Sebastian’s point of view Not much could be proceeded with my plan yesterday when Donna decided dinner was gonna be a hard-work. She knew too well I don’t eat outside, I loathe take-outs or any fancy dishes there is to eat in a restaurant. If it’s not cooked by me, then it won’t be eaten by me. So we spent the rest of yesterday cooking what she wanted- which was a hectic meal by the way, luxurious and probably one of the fanciest I’ve ever seen. And while I did most of the cooking, she kept my ears alive with gists. When we were done she wanted to spend the night even, but I told her she’s intruded my peace enough. Though Ryan called me late yesterday, but I still didn’t share my plan to catch this sucker to him. I truly would prefer it a secret until its success. And today when I arrived at the office, the chief of security was the first person to walk through the entrance of my office. Donna did rang me up seconds ago to inform me about his request- which I permitt

Chapter 88Ryan’s point of view My conversation with mom surprisingly unknotted a complex bundle in our relationship. I’ve now chosen to forgive my mom for our past and give her a second chance. Let’s see if she’s going to be a mother, and if she has truly buried her wicked ways. All that’s left to tackle now is my sister. And I should’ve braced myself for the scream that’d follow after I went into her room without knocking. “Where are your manners?! Does this look your fucking basement?!” I let her rambled on, while I stay rooted to a spot near the room’s exit with my arms thrown around my chest and head lowered. “Now get out!” She came to the command after yelling my head off. My head raised up to match her fiery gaze, “I would have the minute I met your reaction after I came in. But what I came in here to do isn’t to leave. You’re going to hear me out whether or not you want to, you have no choice. But first, I’d like to apologize for not knocking, I was just eager to get in
