XIOMAR’S POV

I crushed my lips against Lyla’s the smell of burgers and fat wafting into my nose. “Fuck, I missed you,” I murmured.

“I missed you too,” she whispered. “I need you.”

I raised my head and looked around. “Achilles could curse us out for this.”

Lyla smiled. “I don't care.”

Emilio’s POV Lyla’s head was on my lap. She was making cute baby noises, and I watched her sleep, stroking her hair. “We will be there soon,” Xiomar said from the front. He had taken over driving from Achilles after God knows how many miles, forcing my elder brother to rest. I peered outside. “Do you think we would be accepted?” Xiomar said nothing. Isaiah glanced up, looking at me. “Geez, I'm his son,” he hissed. “He can't hate me that much.” I narrowed my eyes at my cousin. “You told him we were coming right?” Isaiah looked away. “What does telling him mean exactly?” “Did you tell your father we were coming?” “Seeing you three betrayed him, and refused to return home, I did not,” Isaish shrugged. “I am sure he would not be so angry.” Holy fuck. “We are entering into enemy territory,” I hissed. “You did not tell your father that we were coming?” Achilles woke up. “What's going on?” “Isaiah lied,” I hissed. “No, I didn't,” he cried out. “I just left out a few things by omi

I glanced back at my men. “Where will you take them?” “None of your business,” he hissed, dragging me into the large house. “But don't worry, I won't kill them. Not yet.” I swallowed. Emilio had called him his uncle, and Isaiah called him father. I thought he was an orphan. How come he— “Do you know who I am, young girl?” I shook my head. “No. They never spoke about you.” Isaiah trailed behind us. “There was a reason for that, Lyla,” he answered. “My father is—” “My son is dead,” the man hissed. “He died the day he ran away. I do not know you.” “Father, please,” he begged. “Get lost,” he said. “Before I shoot you.” I watched Isaiah slink away. “You should not scream at your child like that,” I said. The man glared at me. “We're going to my study.” I walked behind him. “Your house, it's beautiful.” It was almost as big as Christians. “Thank you,” he said. “I got it from my father, and he go
