Damien's POV

I had my chair turned with my back facing the door as I went through the company report. I heard the knock on my door, and knowing it was Michael, I invited him in.

"Alpha Damien, this is the girl," I heard Michael say, and I turned my seat to see the girl who was brave enough to impersonate the surrogate my mate chose for me.

I stared at the woman before me. Unlike other humans who had been brought before me, there was no evidence of fear from her. From her gaze, she appears to be smitten by me. Maybe it's because I am meeting her in my study. I usually met any human brought before me in my basement.

I know I am very attractive, but my name and works precede me, striking fear into both wolves and humans. Women of my kind are the ones who threw themselves at me, but even those women do that because of the intentions they have. To be a luna of the most powerful alpha. Fame, money, and the like.
