Chapter 6: Pregnancy Confirmed

Ariana's POV

It was a silent drive to the hospital. My heart raced against my chest. I was not sure what I was scared of. If I am truly pregnant, how did this happen? How far am I?

No, Ariana. Stop thinking nonsense. You are not pregnant. You need to have sex with a man to get pregnant, and you haven't done that. You are still a virgin. There is no way you are pregnant. I thought and relaxed.

The journey to the hospital felt like a walk towards the judgment seat, where I was not sure if I would make it to heaven or be thrown into hell.

"We are here?" I heard the driver announce, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I looked outside and read the name of the hospital. We are indeed at the hospital. Chills ran down my spine, and I felt coldness on my forehead when the air blew over my face. I grabbed my handkerchief and wiped the sweat off my forehead.

"$4," The driver said, and I looked into my purse.

I brought out the money and gave it to the driver. I stepped out of the car and stared at the hospital in front of me like I was looking at a prison.

"Look, if you are pregnant, see that as your fiancé's replacement. Your child would not abandon you. How can he? He is a part of you," I heard the driver say from behind me, and I turned to stare at him.

"Some misfortunes are blessings in disguise. You will be fine," the driver said to me with a smile and drove off without waiting for a reply from me.

"Some misfortunes are blessings in disguise," I repeated the statement, and recollected everything that had happened. "How is that a blessing?" I asked myself. "Ariana, calm down. You are not pregnant. Just go take the test, and show the results to Jeremy. He would know you didn't cheat on him and Melody will also know you are not a liar," I encouraged myself and took bold steps towards the hospital's entrance.

"Here comes the cheating lying slut. Here for your antenatal?" I heard a voice say, drawing my attention in the direction of the voice.

I met the gaze of Monica and Nina. Melody's friends. They never liked me. They always found a way to throw one insult after another at me. Melody would always step in and stop them. I have held back the edge to give them the beating of their life out of respect for my friendship with Melody.

"Hmmm, I heard you showed Jeremy your true colours," Nina said with a mocking smile.

"Yes, he finally found out what a slut you are," Monica added and they both laughed.

"If I am a slut, what does that make your brothers?" I replied despite my situation.

I was not going to give them the chance to bully me.

Monica and Nina gasped at my reply.

"You idiot. My brother will never look at a woman like you," Nina said angrily.

"Yes, you are right," I said nonchalantly. "He is below my class," I added, and Nina tried to grab me, but Monica stopped her.

"Calm down, Nina," I heard Monica say before turning her angry gaze towards me. "And Jeremy is now above your class. That is another reason why he dumped you on your wedding day. Go check the gutter for men of your kind," Monica said to me.

"Funny, yet Jeremy loves me," I said confidently.

"Sure, he does. He loves you so much that he married Melody. Melody is now Mrs Wilson," Monica said, laughing, and Nina joined in the laugh.

I recalled what Melody said to Jeremy while they were both standing in front of the washroom door. So he married Melody for real? I thought and lowered my gaze.

"Loser," Nina and Monica said and left laughing.

So Jeremy and Melody are now married? I thought. No, he wouldn't do that to me. I know he is still angry at me, reason he is not answering my calls. Let me get this pregnancy test report to him, and we can be together again. I thought and walked into the hospital.

At the reception, I spoke with the lady behind the desk. I told her what I came there to do. She quickly directed me where to go, and I did. I had already done a urine pregnancy test. I wanted something different. I walked into the consulting room to see the doctor.

"Hello, Ms Brown, what is wrong with you?" the doctor asked as soon as I was seated in front of him.

"I," I began and paused.

I thought about what I was going to say. I wanted to know what was happening, and I needed a negative pregnancy test result to tell Jeremy I never cheated on him.

"I want to check if I am pregnant," I said, and the doctor stared at me.

"Okay," the doctor said. "Are you trying to get pregnant?" he asked, and I shook my head no.

"Okay," the doctor said.

"I took a pregnancy test at home and it was positive. I doubt the results because, well, I just wanted to be sure," I informed the doctor hesitantly.

"Okay, we can run a blood test, and that will even reveal how far you are. It is more accurate than the urine test," the doctor explained to me. "Okay, you can go to the lab now. They will take the sample for the test," he added, and I nodded.

I left the consulting room and was directed to the lab. My sample was taken after the lab technician explained everything to me.

"It would be ready in a couple of minutes," the lab technician said to me, and I exited the small room.

I sat in the waiting area, and each minute passing by felt like an eternity. My thoughts shifted to Jeremy, and I retrieved my phone from my bag. I went straight to my contact. I only had six saved contacts. Jeremy's contact, Melody's contact, the contact of my superior at the restaurant and three other bosses from another job. I scrolled to Jeremy's contact and tried calling him.

I waited for him to answer, but he didn't. I tried again and was met with the same results. He didn't answer. I decided to send him a message.

Hello, my love. I know you are mad at me right now. I promise you, I never cheated on you. I don't know how the test results showed positive. I am at the hospital right now, I'm taking another test to prove to you I am not pregnant, and I never cheated on you.

I typed the message, and after reading through, I deleted everything. I decided I will find him once I have my negative pregnancy test results in my hand.

"Ms Brown," I heard my name, and I shifted my gaze in the direction of the voice.

"Your result is ready, you can go see the doctor," the man said to me, and I stood up, heading back for the consulting room.

Inside the doctor's consulting room, I sat down on the provided seat. My heart raced against my chest as I waited to know what the results said.  I was feeling tense as I stared at the doctor, who stared at his screen with a frown. His face relaxed, and with a smile, he met my gaze.

"Okay, your result is out. Congratulations, Ms Brown, you are pregnant. Two weeks away," the doctor confirmed happily, and the colour drained out of me.

"That is impossible," my voice dropped to a whisper, with an expression of shock registered on my face. "I have never been with a man," I whispered the words out, and the doctor frowned. "How is that possible? Are you sure that is my result?" I asked in my normal tone, but the disappointment in my voice was so evident.

"Well, in this era, one can get pregnant in so many ways, not just the traditional way. We have methods like insemination, where a woman gets inseminated by a donor's sperm. That is the most common," the doctor explained.

"Insermination," I repeated the word like I was hearing it for the first time.

"Yes," the doctor confirmed, staring at me with concern. "Have you been to the hospital recently for any test or examination of any sort?" he asked me, looking very serious.

"Yes," I quickly replied. "But it was just for a routine medical examination," I added.

"What can of medical examination?" the doctor asked me.

"They took a blood sample from me, and later I was sent to a room. I was made to lie on the bed with my legs raised. A nurse went under me for a while. I am not sure what she did, but it was uncomfortable. She asked me to lie down for a while before I was allowed to leave," I informed the doctor.

"Hmm," the doctor said, staring at me. "You might wanna visit that hospital again. Find out exactly what happened there," the doctor advised.

"You think they did this to me?" I asked anxiously.

"Just go back to the hospital where the examination was done. I am sure you will find out what happened," the doctor said.

I stood up and exited the consulting room after the doctor handed me a hard copy of my pregnancy test results. I rubbed my belly gently.

I am pregnant. How do I explain this to Jeremy? He will never believe me. I thought standing in the corridor after exiting the doctor's consulting room.

What happened that day at the hospital? I thought. I need to know. I thought, and with that, I left the hospital intending to go to the hospital where I had my medical examination done.

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Epilogue

It was over. The struggles, the battles, the lives lost, both innocent and guilty, all of it had led us here. To victory. To peace. A new era of freedom and respect for every form of life.Damien was everything I had ever wished for in a man. A great husband, a steady leader, an understanding partner, and a tender, devoted father. My love for him ran deeper than words, rooted in the very marrow of me. He wasn’t perfect, no one is, but I loved the man I saw. My man. My wolf. I was not born a wolf, yet the wolf spirit had found me, bound itself to me, and in doing so became a part of me. Together we carried this role, side by side.Sometimes, at night, I linger by the nursery door, just watching. Four little angels, sleeping soundly, their tiny breaths filling the air like music. Four heartbeats, steady and strong, each one a promise I never thought I’d live to see. Their soft sighs soothe me, their cries remind me we survived. Life had given me more than I dared to ask. And though cari

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 141: My Luna, My Love

Ariana’s POVThe newborns were so small, so fragile, yet so perfect. Their little breaths rose and fell in rhythm, their tiny fists curled tight as though they were clutching onto life itself. Holding them in my arms felt like holding the world....both terrifying and wonderful. Damien and I lay side by side, the weight of everything we had been through melting into this moment of peace as the babies finally drifted into sleep.A soft knock broke the stillness. Damien slipped from the bed and returned a moment later with a rare smile lighting his face."The baby nest is ready," he announced."That’s wonderful," I whispered, carefully scooping the little girl into my arms. She stirred but didn’t wake, her warmth sinking into my chest.Damien cradled the baby boy, and together we carried them out of the room. Michael pushed the door open for us, revealing the chamber opposite Damien’s room, the same room where I had once stayed when I arrived in his apartment, frightened and confused, wi

Third Person POV"Our future," Damien whispered, almost to himself, as the newborns stirred beside him. Tiny cries and soft movements filled the quiet of his room, grounding him in the moment. "It’s here."Ariana’s voice carried warmth and relief as it drifted through the receiver. "With everything that has happened, this is great news." But her tone faltered slightly, the weight of reality creeping in. "What is going to happen to their mother?"Damien’s jaw tightened. He glanced toward the door, where beyond the walls Victoria lay under guard. "Their mother made her choice. I will not condemn my pups with her. She will face punishment after her trial. That is all the grace I can give her. Tomorrow it begins." His voice softened as his gaze fell on the swaddled infants. "But these children will be raised by you, my Luna."Ariana was silent for a moment, processing his words. When she spoke again, her voice carried both sadness and conviction. "From the beginning, you said Victoria wou

Third Person POVMichael’s voice carried a finality that settled the air. "They’ve been captured. Victoria and Alpha Leo."Damien didn’t wait. He rose immediately, the weight of the war still clinging to him, and strode out of the hospital. Ariana remained behind to watch over Eve and Analica, who still lay unconscious, suspended between worlds."Where are they?" Damien asked, his voice a low growl as Michael fell into step beside him."In the basement of your apartment. Shackled to the ground," Michael replied.Minutes later, their car pulled into the familiar drive. Damien moved with lethal calm down the stairs, into the dim basement where two figures sat bound. Victoria, pale but defiant, and Alpha Leo, eyes glittering with something between arrogance and madness.Damien dragged a chair across the floor, its scrape echoing like a warning. He sat, posture controlled, though his wolf pressed hard beneath the surface. Michael remained to his right, steady, silent."For a woman in your

Ariana's POVThe battle was chaotic. Claws, blood, and earth shaking beneath the fury of wolves. But I couldn’t sit hidden away in the cabin, safe behind walls, while Damien fought for us. I was his mate. Together, we were stronger. He needed me near, even if my body trembled with weakness from Sapphira’s awakening.I made Analica take me back to the battlefield. She hesitated, worried for me, but I wouldn’t be denied. My place was by Damien’s side, not in the shadows. She helped me lower myself to the field, close enough to feel the vibrations of snarls and impacts, yet far enough that I wasn’t swallowed in the storm. I sat, closing my eyes, and let Sapphira stretch within me, the spirit of the White Wolf weaving her strength into Damien’s. My heartbeat steadied. Through that tether, I poured into him, steadying his wolf, giving him every shred of power I had left.Analica obeyed my command to search for Victoria. I could only recognise a few wolves in the blur of fangs and fur: Dami

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 137: The Battle

Third Person POVThe clash of wolves tore through the night. Bodies slammed into one another, teeth snapping, claws raking flesh. The battlefield was a storm of fur and blood, howls rising and breaking against the trees. Damien’s wolf, Kai, loomed in the centre of the chaos, black fur bristling as he hurled Leo’s wolf across the field with a savage twist of his neck. The rival alpha crashed into the dirt but rose again, snarling, eyes feral red.Around them, Damien’s guards fought against rogues in brutal packs of two and three. Blood spattered the grass as jaws locked on throats, as claws dug trenches into earth and skin alike. A pair of rogue wolves soared overhead, using magic-enhanced leaps to crash down in unexpected places, scattering defenders.Inside the cabin, Analica dragged Ariana away from the worst of the fight, her magic shimmering faintly as a shield around them. Ariana’s breaths came shallow and weak, her human body unable to hold the strain of the White Wolf’s earlier
