Chapter 20. Brother's advice

"Stop it, Anita. What are you talking about, mother-in-law? I don't think I'll even accept the marriage proposal again. Imagine I'm already attempting to fit into the company's standards; now I'll also have to fit into his mother's expectations. "What for?" Temisa asks, and Anita swallows.

"I don't know; maybe that's how their family wants it," Anita says gently, knowing Temisa's already unhappy and agitated.

"I don't care what their family wants. I cannot allow myself to become depressed because of my marriage. When I see him and he asks me out, I will clearly tell him that I am not interested, and that will end all this nonsense." Temisa fumes.

"That's OK, girlfriend? You don't need to be furious with him; after all, you don't know whether he or his parents want the marriage. My mother believes he's probably jealous and dislikes ladies who are too pretty in order to avoid admirers."
