A few seconds after his command, Eleanor felt strong manly hands hold her arm, roughly pulling her from the ground. She helplessly tried fighting against them, despite knowing it was obviously futile. They dragged her down to the dungeon and locked her up in a cell.Eleanor curled up on the floor, sobbing silently. Maybe she should have told him not to go with her, this wouldn't have happened. She doesn't need anyone to tell her if anything happens to him, they'd definitely kill her. And there would no one to save her. She wasn't scared for herself, she was scared of loosing the only person she loved dearly. The one who has been good to her and didn't treat her anymore like a slave. She endangered his life and the life of her people. She hates to think if anything happens to him, the king would make her people also suffer it. Worst of all he can choose to eliminate her. What the hell was she thinking all this while? That this would be a fairytale with no life threatening challenges. N
The Queen felt her heart sink deep into her stomach when he said those words. "What do you mean he can't survive?" Her voice almost came out as a whisper."I'm sorry my queen, that's the truth." Mabuse replied, an apologetic look on his face. "The poison is so toxic and could kill a person immediately, I can't tell you he'd survive." Queen Ariel glanced at her son, laying unconsciously on the bed and back at the physician. "Something has to be done." She shook her head in disbelief. "He can't die, you have to do something.""Like I said earlier your highness, it's a fifty-fifty chance, I can't tell if he survives or dies."Queen Ariel stared into space, dumbfounded. This wasn't how they planned this. She never thought her plans would fail and put the life of her beloved son in danger. He can't die. She lost her first son, she can't lose the second. She can't survive it. Now the thought that it's actually her fault her son is in situation right now, make her even more scared. If he di
"Was this your plan all along?" A figure dressed in black cloak asked another figure standing beside."Well, not exactly but this is good though." The second person replied."Whatever, I just wanted to make sure this isn't a waste of time.""Have no worries, this is going just fine.""Okay."*Nikolai walked up the stairs, heading to his father's chambers. He doesn't even have an idea what he's trying to do but he just let his mind lead him wherever it wanted. He was about walking into the hallway but froze when he heard voices."Elliot, what is it you have to say?" He easily recognised the voice as his father's."You know me Axel, I'm here just to share a little advice." Nikolai resisted the urge to walk into the hallway and pushed that man away. He has just devious plan plotted in his head."Elliot, I need no advice right now. All that matters is my son." Nikolai could sense the distress in his voice. He must've been feeling shattered about what happened to Luciano, knowing it's his
'The slave has escaped'' That was the only word that was heard throughout the entire castle the next morning. The king had sent the guards to go fetch her and that was the moment that realised she was gone. The king went into rage immediately, he had ordered them to bring her for execution."How did she escape?!" The king roared, glaring at the guards standing before him. "Where are the keepers of the dungeon?! Get them!"Gwen moved away from the huge door when she heard the order, running into the hallway and down the stairs, she had been eavesdropping on them. Eleanor escaped. She didn't know what emotion to settle on. She was happy she escaped but where did she go? They had absolutely nowhere to go? Would she be fine? How did she escape in the first place? Those bars were definitely locked. How could she?She stopped in the middle of the stairs when something clicked in her head.Nikolai?Could it be?Did he help her?She remembers well he was saying he'd do something about it. Gwe
Eleanor arrived in the strange village in the early hours of the morning with the help of the map. It wasn't so hard locating it, since she has studied a lot of maps unlike other maidens. Her body felt numb from tiredness and her eyes felt so heavy, her throat sour. She travelled the entire night, only stopping to rest for a few minutes. She walked into the village, making sure the horse was following behind. "Excuse me." She walked to the first woman she saw. "I'm looking for Sophia." She spoke when the woman turned to her, a look of confusion on her face."And who are you?" She asked in a stern voice."Ermm.. I.." Gods! She didn't prepare for this. "I'm her long distance.... Niece.." She lied, keeping her eyes on the woman. She stared at her for a few seconds, like trying to see if she was lying. "Sophia never said she had relations, but just keep walking down there and ask anyone you see, they'd show you her house." She pointed her hand down the road.Eleanor only nodded and mutt
"Luciano." Helen dropped the brush in her hands immediately, rushing to him. "Don't move, just lay still." She held his shoulders, gently pushing him back on the bed. Luciano grunted, trying to get up from the bed. "No, my prince. You have a deep wound on your chest. Please don't make it worse." Helen rushed her words, trying as much as possible to stop him from standing. "Stay still. I'll inform the others that you're awake, the physician has to know." Helen moved away from the bed and rushed out of the room. She came back a few minutes later, this time around with Nikolai, The Queen and Mabuse. Mabuse did a little check on him just for a few minutes. "He's surprisingly getting better." He said to the Queen, a few seconds after he was done with Luciano. Queen Ariel heaved out a loud sigh of relief, placing her palm on her temple. "Luciano." She rushed towards him, ready to wrap her arms around him in a comforting hug when he raised his hands at her, making her stop immediately. "Lu
“Ohh,” Nikolai stared at her suspiciously for a few seconds before brushing off the look from his face. “You miss me?” He chuckled amusingly.“Yes, I slept literally the entire day and didn’t see you.” She let out a small laugh, trying to sound quite convincing as possible.“Well, good thing you had enough rest.” He held her shoulders, staring down at her affectionately. Gwen had to avoid his eyes, afraid that he might see through her eyes that she’s actually lying to him and keeping a very big secret from him.“I….I... I have to go.” She moved a few meters away from him, tucking her hair behind her ears.“Huh?? But you just got here.” Nikolai’s face mirrored confusion immediately. “Besides, you said you missed me.”“Yes.” She chuckled nervously, scratching her hair. “I just want to check on a few things and I’ll be back.”“Ohh...” Nikolai looked like he didn't believe her but chose not to question her anyway. Besides she might really have work to do here, considering the position she
Ariel couldn’t understand the shivers that ran down her spine immediately he said those words. She knows very well he doesn’t joke with words, just like his father. Regret suddenly filled her but disappeared immediately it came. “Don’t say that, Luciano.”Luciano scoffed and ran his palm over his face. He looked like he was struggling hard to refrain himself from flaring in anger. His fists repeatedly clench together, his breaths already coming out in pants. “Leave.” He growled warningly.“There is no point getting angry Luciano, we did this for you, for your safe-““Don’t you dare say that!!!” Axel stopped talking when Luciano suddenly yelled. “When has Eleanor ever been a threat?! Just tell me! WHEN?!” For the first time in so many years Ariel saw his eyes water. She must say she’s never seen him so hurt, her heart clenched in guilt when a drop of tears slipped from his eyes. “Do you know what you are now?” He was the only one speaking now because it seemed she had nothing to say.
