Kieran’s POV
The council was causing a lot of trouble.
The council leader, Azaro, remarked, "My King, we're just expressing what the people want." Why are you hesitant with her if we have been putting trespassing werewolves to death in accordance with Section 45 of the Constitution, which states that "Any werewolf who enters our lands uninvited must be put to death." "Because she is my partner." Your future monarch. I left the words lingering. "Tell me, is an invitation required for a queen to stand on her own land?" They all looked at me as if I had gone crazy.“Yes, she’s my mate. You heard that right.” I turned to Azaro, eyes sharp. “And unless I’ve missed something, there’s no law forbidding me from taking her as mine, is there?”
Azaro’s old heart probably skipped a beat. “No, my King. But... how do you know she’s truly the one? The fated mate?”
I blinked. “Did I not just tell you she is? What more do you need to hear?”
Their disapproving looks were almost comical—like I’d just told them the moon was made of cheese.
“And what if the people rebel?” another council member asked, cautiously.
I smirked. “Then as their King, if they can’t accept or recognize their Queen, I have every right to disown them from the coven. That’s Section 105, isn’t it, Azaro?”
“You are correct, Your Majesty,” he said, voice tight.
“Then it’s settled. From now on, you will address her as your Queen.”
That’s when we heard the rush of footsteps echoing through the halls.
The guards I’d stationed outside Anastasia’s room burst into the council chamber, breathless. A serious offense—interrupting council proceedings could get you executed. But I’d given strict orders: if anything happened to her, they were to come to me immediately.
“Speak,” I commanded.
“My King,” one of them stammered, “Lady Lianna arrived and ordered us to abandon our post. She entered the room.”
“What?” My voice dropped with fury. “I gave you direct orders not to leave that door or let anyone in. If anything’s happened to Anastasia, you’ll suffer my wrath.”
I was already storming down the corridor before the last word left my mouth.
Lianna. She’d never been rational, especially when it came to werewolves—blaming them for her brother’s death. Gods only knew what she’d done.
I slammed open the door—and froze.
Water exploded out of the room, flooding into the hallway. Lianna’s body lay sprawled on the floor, soaked and motionless. Her guard was down too. The entire room was submerged, almost to the ceiling. It was like a tidal wave had crashed into it.
“What in the gods’ names...?” Azaro muttered, pushing past me and dropping to his daughter’s side. He frantically tried to revive her, forcing water from her lungs.
I found Anastasia curled in a corner, shivering. Her teeth chattered uncontrollably. She looked terrified—too scared to even raise her head.
“Ana,” I said softly.
She turned slowly toward my voice. And then, without warning, she stumbled into my arms, clutching me like her life depended on it—before passing out. Even unconscious, she refused to let go.
I called for Matif. He arrived quickly and bent over Lianna. At first, he hesitated—clearly not thrilled to help her—but seeing Azaro unraveling, he finally muttered something in the old tongue. Lianna sputtered, coughing up water, and her eyes fluttered open.
The second she saw Anastasia, panic crossed her face. She scrambled to her feet like a mouse fleeing a cat and ran out of the room. Her guard, now awake, followed her without a word.
Azaro turned to me, still kneeling in the water. “My King... what just happened? Is there something you haven’t told us?”
“There’s nothing you need to know,” I replied flatly. “The information you're entitled to has been given. This meeting is over.”
I gestured for Matif to follow me, and together we carried Ana to a new room. Hers was destroyed—soaked and uninhabitable.
Once she was safely lying in bed, I turned to Matif. “What the hell just happened?”
He hesitated, then asked, “Have you ever heard of the Moonborn Siren, sire?”
I searched my memory. “No. Why?”
“You’ll understand your mate better once you do.” That was all he said before bowing and leaving like a cryptic old seer.
Gods, I hated when he did that.
After the maids finished drying and changing Ana, I headed to the royal library. I searched every corner until I found a thick, deep blue book embossed with swirling silver patterns. The title caught my eye: The Moonborn Siren.
Back in my chambers, I sat beside Ana’s bed and flipped open the ancient pages, glancing at her now and then as she slept.
The book described a powerful being created by the Moon Goddess to end a centuries-long war that ravaged both land and sea. This being—half-wolf, half-siren—was blessed with the blood of the sea and the heart of a wolf.
According to the legends, the Moonborn Siren was the prophesied savior of the ocean, the rightful ruler who would free her people from the tyranny of a cruel sea queen. She bore the true royal bloodline of the sea folk, the only one able to command both the moon and the tides. Among the merfolk, she was known as the Daughter of the Sea. The one destined to wield the Trident of Power.
I looked up from the page and saw Ana stir, her brow furrowing in her sleep.
Something twisted in my chest.
That reaction was foreign to me.
But I knew what it meant.
She wasn’t just my mate. She was something far greater.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this book. Now i want you to please add this book to your library and share it with your close friends.I promise it will be worthy it.
POV: The Sea Witch"Your Highness," Agatha greeted with a deep bow, and I gave a slight nod in acknowledgment."I heard you summoned me, my Queen," he said, a sly smirk tugging at his lips. Mischief danced in his eyes.Agatha was effective brutally so but he was also unpredictable. He had a habit of improvising, following his own impulses even when no command had been given. That made him useful… and dangerous.“I want you to go to the surface and take care of someone for me,” I said coldly, careful not to reveal too much. Especially not the part where this someone was the last living heir to the royal sea bloodline. If there's one thing I’ve learned from my past mistakes, it’s that the sea folk grow bold whenever they sense royal blood still flows. Since the trident lit up again, whispers of rebellion have grown louder. Some factions have stopped paying their tribute. Others outright ignore my rule.I had thought killing the King and Queen would be enough. I believed I could reign ov
Alicia’s POVMy mother’s hologram paced anxiously across the water’s surface, her form shimmering with tension.“You know, Alicia,” she said sharply, her voice like ice cracking over still water, “I’ve given you countless chances to redeem yourself and yet, you continue to fail me.”I clenched my fists, lowering my head like a scolded child.“I’m sending the backup plan to the surface,” she continued. “He will take care of her this time.”Then she vanished, melting into the pool with a soft splash, leaving only the ripples and dread in her wake.My breath hitched. No. She couldn’t mean him. Of all people… even I wouldn’t unleash that kind of monster. If he came to the surface, the destruction wouldn’t stop at Anastasia. The entire realm would suffer.I turned back to the pool in the cave, the residual power of the Ocean Tiara still pulsing faintly in the air. Sitting on a jagged stone, I tried to collect my thoughts. I couldn’t let Kael and Anastasia’s bond grow stronger. It was alrea
Alicia’s POV“Has she died yet?” My mother’s voice rang like thunder across the oceanic void, cold and unforgiving.I lowered my gaze to the coral-strewn floor, shame prickling beneath my skin. “No, my Queen,” I murmured, voice trembling with the weight of failure.A surge of electricity lashed out from her fingertips, zapping my shoulder. I winced but didn’t cry out. Pain was nothing new from her.“You’ve become distracted, haven’t you?” she hissed. “Too preoccupied with that mutt to remember your mission on land.”She was never a mother to me—never warm, never proud. The world thought I was her prized creation, her golden daughter. But I was just another pawn in her cold game of thrones. I had tried for years to earn her love, to please her, to be more. But her heart… it was a stone buried deep beneath centuries of bitterness.“So what made you come crawling back here?” she snapped, her voice sharp like a blade. “I was clear: don’t return unless she’s dead and you have her heart.”S
Victor’s POVEver since my visit to the dark witch, sleep had become a curse. Night after night, I found myself trapped in the same nightmare—her voice echoing like poison in my mind, warning me of a mistake I refused to admit. And in every dream, the face I saw... was hers.Anastasia.Radiant. Terrifying. Untouchable."You should have killed her, Victor. Why did you let her walk away from the pack alive?" the witch had rasped as she stirred her cursed brew. "You have no idea what you’ve unleashed on the world. Do you even know who she truly is? What she’s capable of?"I remembered standing there, arms crossed, feeling a tightness in my chest that had nothing to do with fear—but with a dangerous kind of regret.“I get the sense there’s something you’re not telling me,” I had pressed, narrowing my eyes at her.The witch had paused, setting her spatula down with a slow, deliberate clink.“There is, Victor. Have you ever wondered why I supported your union with Alicia so easily?”That ca
The moment the crystal spirit vanished, a monstrous growl echoed through the cave—low, guttural, and bone-chilling. I stiffened, instinctively clutching Kael’s cloak. Even standing beside the Vampire King, I could feel the shift. Something wasn’t right.“What was that?” I whispered, heart racing.“I don’t know,” Kael said, his voice tense. His stance turned guarded, eyes narrowing into the shadows. Then, it leapt.A hideous beast emerged from the darkness—its form grotesque, with three snarling heads, claws like blades, and an odor so foul it turned my stomach. Its aura oozed danger. Death.“What do you seek?” it growled.I wanted to scream. Faint. Run. But I forced myself to stand tall. I had to be brave—for Kael. For myself.“We seek the tiara... and the golden rose,” I said. The creature laughed, a cruel, jagged sound that echoed across the stone walls.“Then you’ll have to pass through me, child.”With a flick of its hand, a violent gust slammed us against the cave wall. Pain shot
Anastasia’s POVAfter the awkward hug, I quickly pulled away from Kael, cheeks burning.“Shall we go?” he asked casually.I nodded in confirmation, eager to shift focus from the strange little moment we just shared.Since we were heading somewhere snowy, we needed proper clothing. I put on the thick fur coat the maids had laid out for me and made my way back to Kael’s room—only to walk in on him changing.Naked.I froze mid-step, eyes unintentionally dropping to... it.Dear heavens. It was... massive. How was I ever supposed to take that inside me one day? Absolutely not. No way.Kael noticed my stunned expression and smirked.“How about making a portrait of it?” he teased. “That way you’ll always have a picture.”I nearly choked as he casually wrapped a towel around his waist. My face must’ve been crimson red. I couldn’t even look him in the eye. I didn’t know if I was overheating from the thick layers of clothes or the image I’d just burned into my memory.Thankfully, in what felt l
ANASTASIA’S POVI don’t even remember what set me off. One moment, the concubine and her guard were confronting me, their voices sharp and cruel—and the next, everything unraveled. Something inside me snapped.I didn’t know how or why, but the room began to fill with water. It crept up the walls, flooding the floor, sealing the doors shut. They screamed, pounding against the exit, but the water kept rising. I stood still, frozen in place as they choked and drowned right in front of me. And all I could do was watch. Before I could even register what I’d done, the doors burst open and more vampires rushed in. Water gushed out into the hall, soaking the palace floor. Panic hit me all at once. I scrambled into a corner, trembling. I’d broken one of their laws—maybe even committed murder. What would they do to me now? I was a werewolf. Mercy wasn't something vampires were known for.But then I caught a scent—familiar, grounding. Kael.I lifted my head, and there he was, standing over me. R
KAEL – POVI was still in shock over everything I had learned about my partner. I must have dozed off without noticing. I haven't had a dream in literally centuries, but this one didn't feel like a dream. It was authentic. Even though I was drowning, I managed to breathe. It was a weird, dreamlike, and strangely soothing feeling. My body floated, drawn by an invisible current that led me in an unknown direction. I was standing in a chilly, underwater cavern when I eventually stopped. Bioluminescent colors, ranging from blues to greens, danced across the walls like liquid light. I froze as I turned to my left. Anastasia was standing next to me. "Ana?" Startled, I blurted. "Why are you in this place?"She appeared equally perplexed. "Kael? What is this? What is happening? "I don't know," I said. "I recall dozing off, and then all of a sudden I'm here. underwater. It shouldn't be possible to dream. Since I became eighteen, I have not dreamed. Her gaze expanded. She spoke slowl
Victor’s POVAnastasia was one of the most beautiful women in the pack, but accepting her as my mate would eventually destroy me. Once she learned the truth about her parents’ death, I would lose everything. It’s an understatement to say I didn’t feel anything when I rejected her. I did.But pain or not, I had no choice.I was Alpha now—but that title came at a blood price.I earned it the day I plunged a sword into Anastasia’s father’s heart. The witches had made it clear: a Beta family like mine could only take full control of the pack by eliminating the Alpha bloodline.Alicia was alluring in her own way, but something about her always made my instincts prickle. She was... more than she let on. After the public rejection—and the chaos it caused—I brought her to the palace. Since we hadn’t officially marked each other, she stayed in a separate room. After escorting her to her quarters, I headed to mine.My wolf was restless, gnashing inside me with grief and rage over rejecting our
