Zique held Kiara’s hand as they headed down the path towards the pack hospital. The woods were quiet since there was nobody else here, nobody but the trees and the animals that lived within and below them. The narrow patch of grass beneath their feet was trampled and dry, making it different from the healthy ones that grew beside it. It was really what defined their path because this particular section of the forest bed was dead due to how many times it had been stepped on.

Zique’s steps were slow, Kiara’s too, they were both basking in the comfort of their company, the pack hospital wasn’t too far away from them, but Zique was probably the only one ecstatic to get there.
