It seemed peaceful. Isabelle's head was on Adrian's shoulder as he locked their hands together. A shy smile played on both their lips.

"So...," Adrian whispered. "What do you want to know?"

"Everything," she smiled. "It would be shameful that I know nothing about my husband."

He was still. History must be a sensitive topic for him. She was about to talk but her shushed her.

"I was birthed to King Augustus by a court lady. Lady Judith," he smiled. "My mother was what anyone could wish for. She was beautiful, humble and innocent. She died when I was just eight."

"Spencer told me she was murdered," Isabelle interrupted. "Is that true?"

He sighed. "Yes, she was murdered. I was enrolled in royalty training but I did not get along with the other scholars. They claimed I was cursed. That went on for eight years until the General brought his son, Spencer to Deira. He was the only one I opened up to. I started going to war at a tender age and surprisingly, I came back victorious.
