Cassiel’s POV

Julian stood in front of my desk, his posture rigid, his sharp hazel eyes burning with defiance. The dim light from the chandelier above cast a soft glow on his face, highlighting the tension in his jaw as I could see it move.

His hands were clenched into fists at his sides, and I could see the faint tremor in them—anger, frustration, maybe even fear, though he’d rather die than admit it.

The contract lay untouched on the mahogany surface between us. A silent war. A line he refused to cross.

I leaned back in my chair, fingers interlocked. “I told you before, Julian,” I said, my voice calm, measured. “I don’t do charity. If you want my help finding your brother, you give me something in return.”

His laugh was bitter. “Right. And what exactly am I giving you, Morelli? A warm body in your bed?”

I exhaled through my nose, my patience razor-thin. “You think this is just about sex?” I reached for the glass of whiskey in front of me, swirling the amber liquid before taking a s

So Julian being a lawyer just signed a contract without reading it?........ I know this is fiction but not likely to happen.

Julian’s POVThe drive back from the villa was suffocating.I sat stiffly in the passenger seat of Cassiel’s sleek black Aston Martin, the hum of the engine filling the silence between us. The events of the last twenty-four to forty-eight hours played on a loop in my head, each memory heavier than the last.Bash. The auction. The contract. Cassiel. My hands clenched on my lap as the city lights flickered past the tinted windows. We should have been heading straight to the penthouse — I had resigned myself to that much — but instead, Cassiel’s driver took an unexpected turn down a familiar street. My stomach twisted. It was my apartment.I hadn’t been back in days, but even now, the sight of the run-down building sent a wave of exhaustion crashing over me. The peeling paint, the rusted fire escape, the flickering hallway lights—it was barely livable. But it was mine. The car pulled into a spot effortlessly and the driver killed the engine.I turned to Cassiel, eyes narrowing. “Why are

Julian’s POVI didn’t sleep.Even after Cassiel left the room, the air remained thick with tension, his words lingering like cigarette smoke—You’ll beg me to keep you there.Like hell I will. The bed beneath me was too soft, the sheets too smooth. Everything smelled like him — a mix of leather and something darker, something that made my pulse spike every time it reached me. I should have been exhausted. My body ached, my mind was fractured, but rest was impossible in Cassiel’s world.I sat up, running a hand through my hair. This wasn’t working. I needed space. Air. Anything that didn’t feel like I was suffocating under Cassiel’s control.Get out. Now.Slipping out of bed, I padded toward the door, testing the handle. It turned easily. Not locked. The fact that he hadn’t physically trapped me should have been a relief, but somehow, it felt worse. He doesn’t need to lock you in. He already owns you.I shoved the thought aside and stepped into the dimly lit hallway, moving cautiously.

Julian’s POVI felt like I was losing it.“You’re restless.” Cassiel smirked, watching me. There was really no point in denying it but I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction.I exhaled through my nose in an effort to calm myself. He smirked, but there was something deeper in his gaze. Something knowing.“You’ve barely been here an hour, and you’re already pacing,” Cassiel mused. “Did you think you’d adjust so quickly?”I crossed my arms, not caring for the sarcasm. “I didn’t think I’d have to adjust to anything. This isn’t my home.”He took a slow step forward. “It is now.”My jaw tightened. “Not by choice.”He hummed, unconcerned. “Choice is a luxury, Julian. One you spent long before you ever met me.”I clenched my fists. I didn’t need reminders. I didn’t need Cassiel standing there, looking at me like I was some petulant thing throwing a tantrum over a life he’d already lost.“You can keep pretending you have control,” He murmured, closing the distance between us. “But we both know y

Cassiel’s POVJulian didn’t lock the door.Of course, he didn’t.I stepped out of the bathroom, a towel slung low around my hips, water dripping from my hair, rolling down my chest. I knew he could hear me—his breath hitched, a sharp inhale that cut through the heavy silence of the room.I didn’t acknowledge him. Not yet.The bedroom lights were dim, casting shadows along the walls. Julian sat on the edge of the bed, his back tense, his hands gripping the sheets like he was holding himself in place. Like he knew—He should leave. He wouldn’t.I crossed the room without a word, heading for the closet. I could feel his gaze on me, tracking every movement, the weight of it almost palpable. I let the towel hang a little looser, just enough to test him.He exhaled sharply.I bit back a smirk. The closet door creaked open. I reached for a pair of worn pajama pants, pulling them from the drawer, but then—I changed my mind.I turned back. Stepped out.Naked.Julian made a strangled sound—som

Julian’s POVI woke up alone. My body ached in places I didn’t want to think about, a lingering reminder of everything that had happened last night. The sheets smelled like sex — and Cassiel—rich, expensive cologne with an edge of something darker, typical him.I shoved them off in annoyance.“Idiot.” I rubbed a hand over my face, sitting up. “What the hell were you thinking?”I hadn’t been thinking. That was the problem. I’d let myself get swept up in his touch, in the way the bastard knew exactly how to unravel me for some reason. And now?Gone. No trace of him in the massive bedroom, no note, no message—nothing. My lips curled. Of course.“Typical,” I muttered, wondering what I had expected before swinging my legs over the edge of the bed. I grabbed a pair of pants from the floor, pulled them on, and padded barefoot into the hallway. The penthouse was silent apart from maids that were taking care of cleaning and I quickly had the breakfast they placed before me.If he wasn’t here,

Cassiel’s POVI placed my phone down on the desk, fingers tightening for a brief second before releasing. My gaze stayed fixed on the cityscape beyond the massive glass windows, but my mind wasn’t on the skyline.Julian had almost gotten inside.Too close.I exhaled through my nose, my jaw tightening. I should have anticipated this. Julian wasn’t a fool—he was stubborn, perceptive, and far too reckless for his own good. It had only been a matter of time before curiosity led him where it shouldn’t.But not yet.He wasn’t ready. Julian sure as hell wasn’t ready. The next time he gets that close…A muscle twitched in my jaw. I didn’t like dealing with threats — not when it came to Julian. But there were lines even I wouldn’t allow to be crossed. My fingers drummed against the desk. I’d have to handle it.And then the door flew open. Not violently. Not the way an enemy would enter. But with the kind of audacity that belonged to only one person.I didn’t move. I heard the sharp click of h

Third POVRenata walked away from Cassiel’s office and paused at the hallway before the secretary’s office. She pulled out her phone from her purse and dialed a familiar number then held her phone to her ear, her nails tapping against it in an impatient rhythm. The call connected and the voice on the other end spoke in a hushed, almost amused tone.“Your breathing sounds tense, Renata.”Her jaw tightened. “Tense? Tense would be an understatement.” She exhaled sharply, her eyes closed in an effort to stem the irritation she felt. “Do you know how long it’s been since I’ve seen him?”A pause.“Cassiel?”“Who the fuck else?” she snapped, her patience wearing thin.A chuckle. “Careful, querida. You don’t usually let a man rattle you.”Renata’s grip on her phone tightened. “Don’t be fucking stupid. This isn’t about him rattling me.” She leaned forward, pressing her elbow against the wall. “It’s about that little purchase of his. The one that was supposed to be a passing amusement.”“Ahhh,”

I glanced at the darkened skyline beyond my office window, loosened my tie and was about to pour myself a drink when my phone buzzed. I answered after noting the caller ID was from the penthouse and tensed. The maids only called me if there was an emergency. Julian I snatched it up. “Speak.” A hesitant female voice came through the receiver. “Sir, it’s Lucia.” I frowned. One of the maids. “What is it?” “It’s about Mr. Julian.” My grip on the phone tightened. “What about him?” Lucia hesitated. “He… hasn’t left the bedroom all day, sir. He refused lunch. We tried to coax him, even Mrs. Rojas spoke to him, but he won’t eat.” My eyes darkened. Mrs. Rojas was one of the older maids, a woman with a voice as warm as fresh bread and the patience of a saint. If Julian had refused even her— I exhaled slowly, my jaw ticking. “Prepare dinner,” I ordered. “I’ll be home soon.” “Yes, sir.” I hung up and immediately turned to Enzo, who was still lounging in the sofa across f

Third POVCassiel turned, meeting his gaze. "You tell me."Julian stepped forward, voice low. "I went into your study because I needed to see if what I suspected was true.""And?""You tell too many lies with too calm a face."Cassiel slipped his shirt on. "Then stop trusting me."Julian flinched. "Maybe I already have."The silence that followed was sharper than any argument. Cassiel finished dressing, adjusted his collar, and walked toward the door."Where are you going now?" Julian asked.Cassiel paused, looking over his shoulder. "To finish what you just made harder."And then he was gone.Julian sank onto the bed, the quiet roaring in his ears.He had poked the sleeping typhoon. And now the storm was coming. It was well past midnight when the screech of iron gates raked through the silence of the estate. Even if it meant crawling into bed each night beside the man who wore a devil's smile.Later that morning, Julian put on a robe and walked downstairs. Miss Maria was already preparing breakfast, humming quietly."Morning, sir," she greeted, offering a soft smile."Morning," Julian returned with a small nod. "Has Enzo left already?""Yes, sir. He set off to meet Mr. Cassiel earlier this morning."Julian nodded again, hiding his relief behind a sip of coffee. So, the study would remain untouched for a while. Third POVHe opened the door to find Enzo standing there, his expression unreadable. “Julian. Cassiel asked me to check in. He’s running late.”Julian nodded. “Thanks.”Enzo hesitated. “Is everything alright?”Julian’s smile was tight. “Of course. Why wouldn’t it be?”“Right.” Enzo handed him a small envelope. “He said to give you this.”Julian took it, closed the door, and opened it. Inside was a handwritten note:“I’ll be back soon. • The Devil In A Suit   Chapter 75

Third POVCassiel stood up from the bed, his movements fluid and purposeful, the golden rays of dawn filtering through the half-drawn curtains to cast streaks of light across his back. Julian’s eyes trailed him from where he lay on the bed, sheets barely covering his waist. The intimacy of the morning had not dulled the tension between them — it only amplified it. Silence stretched between them, long and thick, but neither of them spoke.Cassiel crossed the room, pulling on his shirt one sleeve at a time, eyes focused on the buttons as if they held answers to unspoken questions. Julian shifted on the bed, his body aching slightly from the roughness of the night before. The love they made — if it could be called that — had been more desperate than tender, more about claiming than connecting.Cassiel’s voice broke the silence. “I might not be back for two days. There’s some unfinished business I need to deal with.”Julian sat up slowly, wrapping the sheet around h

  • The Devil In A Suit   Chapter 74

Third POV Julian lay sprawled on the bed, his skin still glistening from their hurried session, but his body far from satisfied. His chest rose and fell in uneven breaths, his gaze never leaving Cassiel’s form as the man stood at the edge of the bed, slipping his arms into the sleeves of a crisp, fresh shirt. There was something primal in the way Julian watched him — the easy strength in Cassiel’s muscles, the lazy confidence in his movements, the way the early light caught the sharpness of his jawline. It stirred something deep inside Julian — a raw, gnawing hunger that their rushed coupling had barely managed to soothe. Still breathing heavily, Julian pushed himself up onto his elbows, voice a low, sultry murmur that caught Cassiel’s attention immediately. “Take me with you. To the bathroom.” Cassiel turned to him, one brow arching, a slow smirk crawling across his face. "You’ll be the death of me," he murmured, voice th

  • The Devil In A Suit   Chapter 73

Third POVThe late morning sun cast a warm glow across the bedroom, soft and deceptive in its peace. Cassiel stood near the wardrobe, buttoning up the cuffs of his deep navy dress shirt, the color sharpening the angles of his powerful frame. Julian watched from the bed, still draped in casual loungewear, a quiet observer to a world he had learned to navigate with caution.Cassiel’s voice broke the silence first, calm and low.“I’ll be heading out later today,” he said, glancing at Julian with a small smile. “Some unfinished business to deal with. Enzo will be coming with me.”Julian smiled back — sweet, easy, as if his heart wasn’t already coiling with suspicion inside his chest. He stood from the bed, padding over to where Cassiel stood adjusting his cufflinks.“Stay safe,” Julian murmured, reaching up to fix a slightly askew button on Cassiel’s shirt. He leaned in, brushing a short, feather-light kiss against Cassiel’s lips. • The Devil In A Suit   Chapter 72

Third POVJulian smiled — a smile so practiced that even he could barely tell the difference anymore — as he lay like a log of wood beneath Cassiel’s wandering touch. Cassiel’s hand ghosted over his waist, dipped lower, traced back up in featherlight strokes meant to soothe and seduce. Julian allowed it, his body pliant, his mind elsewhere. He prayed in silence.Prayed for the sun to rise.Prayed for an escape.Prayed for this twisted play to end.The night stretched painfully long, but eventually, the heavy weight of Cassiel’s body shifted beside him, the man slipping into a deeper sleep. Julian kept perfectly still, his breathing even, his heart barricaded behind thick walls. Every second he spent tangled with the man who sold his brother was a second he lost a piece of himself. Yet he endured. He had to.When faint light finally crept across the windowsill, Julian tossed slightly, feigning a stretch, only to find the bed startlingly empty. The sheets were still warm, but Cassiel wa

  • The Devil In A Suit   Chapter 71

Third POVJulian returned home with a forced calm stitched into his every movement. His week-long vacation had been anything but restful. Behind the luxury hotel walls and scheduled solo explorations was a man spiraling through discovery, betrayal, and the kind of anguish that curled like smoke beneath the surface.Cassiel had been waiting for him at the entrance of the mansion, arms folded, wearing the softest smile. A smile Julian used to fall for, once. A smile that now felt like a blade hidden in velvet."Did you enjoy yourself?" Cassiel asked, stepping forward to press a kiss on Julian's forehead.Julian nodded. "It was what I needed. Time to think."He didn’t lie. He did think — relentlessly. About Bash. About the strange silences in Cassiel’s stories. About the hushed conversation he overheard weeks ago from the hallway. His brother had vanished in a whirlwind, and Cassiel's concern was too polished, too convenient. He knew something. Maybe everything.Inside the walls of their

Third POVThe soft gray hue of dawn crept gently across the sprawling city, casting long shadows over Cassiel’s king-sized bed. Sheets were tangled at his waist, the warmth of sleep still clinging to his skin as he stirred. But the space beside him was empty.Cassiel blinked slowly, adjusting to the early light. Silence hung in the room like a breath not yet exhaled. And then he saw him.Julian.He stood by the floor-length window, bare-chested, arms folded loosely across his torso. The city below stretched endlessly—a living mosaic of people, cars, lives—and Julian, in that moment, looked like a figure painted into stillness.Cassiel didn’t call out. He rose quietly from the bed, letting the morning air cool his skin as he tiptoed across the marble floor. Every step brought him closer until he stood just behind him, close enough to feel the calm tension in Julian’s shoulders.Without a word, Cassiel slid his arms around Julian’s waist, pressing his chest softly against his back.
