Sheldon moved majestically closer to Jack, who was still shivering where he stood, his once-straight spine now bent like it carried the weight of the entire hall on it.

The noise around them seemed to fade, replaced by a suffocating silence that pressed against everyone’s ears.

“Jack, you’re way out of our league thinking you can have my sister,” Sheldon said calmly, but the calm in his voice was far more terrifying than any shout.

It was the gesture of someone who already had his enemy in his palms, ready to finish it.

He dropped his hand casually on Jack’s shoulder, the touch light yet heavy with meaning. “If you try anything with her, I’ll tear you apart.”

Jack’s throat bobbed as he swallowed hard. His lips trembled, but no sound came out.

Sheldon laughed softly, the sound sharp and mocking in the tense air. “Also, if you have any energy left, focus it on the Collins family instead. After all, the Collins family will go bankrupt soon, and you will be broke.”

“What?!” Bosco and Elliot gasped in unison, the sound tearing through the hall like a ripped curtain. “Bella isn’t some lost child? She’s Dad’s illegitimate daughter?”For a moment, the world seemed to tilt. The chandeliers above glittered coldly, casting harsh light on faces frozen in disbelief. Whispers that had been simmering all evening finally boiled over, spreading through the hall in shocked waves.“She’s… his biological daughter?”“So Julia was the one abandoned?”“My God…”Gavin stood stiffly in place, his face drained of color. The fury he had just unleashed seconds ago collapsed into something far uglier, panic. His lips trembled, but no sound came out. For the first time that night, the powerful patriarch of the Reynolds family looked small.Bella, still restrained by the officers, laughed hysterically through her tears.“You see?” she cried hoarsely, her voice cracking. “You all finally see it! I’m not lying! I heard it with my own ears when I was little! Dad said Julia

Bella turned to face the knife resting on the table beside her. For a split second, the world seemed to freeze, the glittering hall with its crystal chandeliers casting prismatic light across marble floors, the shattered pride hanging thick in the air, the hundreds of eyes watching her crumble under the weight of her own lies. Then her fingers closed around the cold metal handle. She grabbed it tight, her knuckles whitening until the skin stretched taut over bone, her eyes boiling with unrestrained rage as they locked onto Julia with singular, murderous focus."I'll kill you!" she screamed, her voice cracking and splintering into something feral, something barely human, as she lunged forward without hesitation, without thought, driven purely by hatred and desperation.Julia's breath caught sharply in her throat. Her mind went completely blank. Every instinct that should have told her to move, to run, to protect herself—all of it failed her in that critical moment. She could only

The moment the officer's command rang out— "Take them away!" the atmosphere inside the hall shifted completely, like a storm breaking loose after hours of suffocating heat. Panic, disbelief, shame, and fear collided in the same space, leaving no one untouched. The guests pressed backward instinctively, creating distance between themselves and the unfolding disaster, as though misfortune itself might be contagious.Elliot was the first to react."No! Wait!" he screamed, his composure shattering in an instant like glass striking concrete. Gone was the smug confidence, the arrogance of a man who believed his surname could shield him from consequences. Two officers moved in without hesitation, twisting his arms behind him with practiced precision. Metal cuffs snapped shut around his wrists, the sharp sound echoing through the hall like a final verdict no appeal could overturn. Elliot struggled violently, his expensive shoes scraping against the polished floor as he tried desperately

Bella felt her knees buckle the moment the officers' presence fully registered. The air in the hall seemed to thin dramatically, pressing against her chest until every breath came out shallow and uneven. She staggered backward, her heels scraping against the marble floor, her fingers clawing at nothing as if the space around her might offer support. Her lips trembled violently, and a low gasp escaped her throat, sharp and broken, like someone drowning on dry land."What do you want?" Megan asked, stepping forward instinctively, her voice sharp with alarm but cracking at the edges. She positioned herself half in front of Bella, as though her body alone could shield her daughter from the uniforms, the badges, the authority that now loomed like a verdict already passed."They're here to arrest your precious daughter," Julia said casually. Her tone was almost gentle, frighteningly calm compared to the chaos spiraling around them. She stood upright, shoulders relaxed, hands loosely by

Jack raised his trembling hand to his face, gasping sharply as he wiped away the cold liquid dripping from his eyes, nose, and chin. Wine dripped steadily down his expensive tailored suit, staining the pristine fabric and soaking deeply into his silk shirt beneath. The humiliation burned far worse than the alcohol itself ever could. Slowly, painfully, he lifted his head to look at Julia again, his eyes bloodshot red, his jaw clenched so tight it ached, rage and disbelief twisting his features into something almost unrecognizable."Julia, what the hell are you doing?" he stuttered hoarsely, his voice breaking, half consumed by fury and half by wounded pride.Julia stood before him without a single trace of regret written anywhere on her face. Her back was perfectly straight, her chin lifted high, her eyes calm but sharp, like a blade that had been polished and refined by years of pain. The grand hall was dead silent, every breath held, every eye fixed intently on her. The woman th
