Minutes later, Det. Brighton was in his car driving down the road. He had his phone to his ear and was calling someone.

"Eric?" the voice on the other end of the call said answering the phone.

"Rod!"

"What? What's wrong?"

"Is Molly at home?" Det. Brighton asked.

"What do you mean is Molly at home? She's at the hospital. Aren't you there right now? You said you were going to be taking today's night shift."

"I am. I was."

"So what's going on?" Rodrick asked. He was in bed and was fast asleep until the call came in and he woke up to answer it.

"She's gone."

"What!" He sat up as his heart immediately began to race. "Gone? What do you mean gone?"

"Gone as in missing. She's missing."

"Eric what are you talking about?" Rodrick asked, throwing the covers off of him and moving to the edge of the bed.

"I was away from the room for about twenty minutes and when I got back she was gone."
