He was incredibly handsome. He had light blue eyes and thick brows. His nose was sharp, and his lips were soft and thin. A bit of stubble covered his jaw, giving him an even more attractive look.

“I am so sorry, Sir,” I said quickly, trying to step back. He smiled at me.

“Are you alright?” he asked gently.

I nodded. Somehow, the moment he held me, the dizziness faded.

He handed me a bottle of water. I felt a bit embarrassed, but I accepted it anyway.

“Thank you,” I said softly before drinking. I gulped down the entire bottle. I had been that thirsty.

“I think you were dehydrated. That is probably why you felt dizzy,” he said. “Are you hungry?”

“No, Sir. Thank you again for helping me, and sorry for finishing your water,” I said with a shy smile.

“Oh, by the way, I am Leonardo Romano,” he introduced himself.

His voice had a slight accent. I could not quite tell what his nationality was, but it made him sound even more charming.

“I am Natalia Luciano,” I replied, expecting a simple hand

  • The Forbidden Affair: The Man I Should Never Have Known   Fix my office, it’s messy. And go to my house tonight.

Natalia’s POVI got up to go home. My whole body ached, and I winced from the pain. I glanced at Sir Marcus beside me. He was still asleep, his arm wrapped around my waist. I carefully moved his hand away. Thankfully, I was able to remove his arm without waking him. I adjusted the blanket to cover him properly, then picked up my scattered clothes from the floor one by one. I headed to the bathroom to get dressed. Before leaving, I decided to check on my child. I opened the door and went straight to the crib. My baby was peacefully sleeping, I had already breastfed earlier. I gently touched the top of her head. I always wanted to see her before going anywhere. I kissed her forehead softly.“I love you, my child. Even if we do not get to see each other when you grow up, you will always be in my heart. You will never be forgotten. I hope you can forgive Mama someday. I am sorry I will not be there as you grow. If you ever get a new mother, I hope she loves you the way I do.”I could not

  • The Forbidden Affair: The Man I Should Never Have Known   I want to have sex tonight

Natalia’s POVI was so happy. Finally, I got to hold and see my baby. She is beautiful, she has Sir Marcus’s eye colour. I gently stroked her head. She had fallen asleep after breastfeeding. I was relieved that I still had milk; I actually thought it had stopped. Carefully, I placed her in the crib and decided to step out of the room. On my way out, I met her nanny.“Ma’am, Sir Marcus wants to see you. He’s in his room,” she said.“Okay, thank you,” I replied, heading towards the room she mentioned. I wondered why he wanted to talk to me. I thought I could go home after feeding the baby.I knocked three times. He did not respond, so I opened the door anyway.“You called for me, sir?” I asked. He turned to me while facing the window. He was holding a glass of wine.“I want you,” he said in a low voice. His words caught me off guard. I could not move. He came closer, walking behind me. I could feel my skin react when he moved my hair to the side. Then I felt his warm breath on my neck.

  • The Forbidden Affair: The Man I Should Never Have Known   A man was holding me.

Natalia's POV"Sister, come eat. You look so tired," Cassandra said, holding my arm gently. After what happened between me and my boss, my stomach started to hurt. Maybe it was from lying on the sofa for too long."Sister, is your pregnancy making things harder for you? You really look exhausted. Right, Cassandra?" our youngest sister added."Yes, and I think your job might not be good for the baby. Plus, you travel so far. Your boss did not even bother to drive you home," she added, shaking her head.Despite the pain I felt, I smiled at both of them. They are my strength. I keep pushing through because of them."I am okay, really. And my doctor said the baby is doing fine. Do you two want to know the gender?" I asked, trying to change the topic. I knew they were about to talk badly about Sir Marcus again."What is it?" they asked at the same time."It’s a girl." I gave them a big smile. I would have shown them the ultrasound picture, but I did not get a copy from Sir Marcus."Wow, si

  • The Forbidden Affair: The Man I Should Never Have Known   I still felt anxious around him

Natalia’s POVI started craving certain foods, corn and pineapple were what I really wanted. I loved how they tasted and how colourful they looked. While walking past a fruit stall, I saw some corn and a whole pineapple. I bought them immediately. I even asked the vendor to peel the pineapple for me.I was so happy because I got exactly what I had been craving. As I walked into the building, I accidentally bumped into a woman, which made her spill the coffee she was holding."I am so sorry, Ma’am," I quickly apologised. She glared at me with anger because the coffee had stained her clothes."See what you’ve done? You ruined my dress! You clumsy fool!" she shouted.“I am really sorry, Ma’am,” I said again. I took out my handkerchief and tried to wipe her stained clothes, but she pushed me and slapped me across the face. The force of her push made me react, and I accidentally pushed her back. Because she was wearing high heels, she lost her balance and fell to the floor. My eyes widened

  • The Forbidden Affair: The Man I Should Never Have Known   Why am I the one who looks like the villain here?"

Marcus povI noticed Natalia looked pale and tired. It irritated me. She was supposed to take care of her health, she was carrying my child.“Sir, here’s your coffee,” she said quietly as she placed the cup on my desk.I glanced at her. Her belly was starting to show.“I’m not paying you to neglect yourself! For goodness’ sake, you’re carrying my child! And you look like you do not even care about your condition. Look at yourself!” I snapped. My voice grew louder, nearly shouting. “It’s my child who’s suffering, not you!”She stepped back slightly, startled by my tone.“S-Sir, I’m not neglecting the baby. I sleep at the right time. I don’t skip meals. I’ve also been taking the vitamins my OB-GYN prescribed,” she explained.“Then why do you look so thin? You were not like this before. You’re supposed to gain weight when you’re pregnant,” I said with growing annoyance.“There are pregnancies where women don’t gain much weight. This is just how my body reacts,” she said calmly. I stared
