Later in the day, I went to meet Emma in her cubicle. 

I wanted to apologize for my cold behavior earlier. And being a sweetheart she was, she shrugged it off. 

"You don't need to apologise, Sofia. I can understand. I would've reacted the same way if I found another girl in my man's arms out of the blue," she said, smiling in understanding.

I didn't comment on the fact that she addressed him as my man.

Squeezing her hand, I lowered down my voice to a whisper to avoid giving any new topic of discussion to some interested ears around us. "Thank you. And why didn't you tell me about your ex? I found out about it later from Adrian."
