Philip’s POV

The spoon in my hand had barely touched the plate before I dropped it with a dull clink. My appetite had vanished long before I sat at the table, but I forced myself to eat anyway. The quietness of the house only made it worse.

I had come back from my morning jog, freshened up, and was now having breakfast, but my mind wasn’t at rest. I was still bothered by what had happened last night ...how I got the wrong dress size for Marceline.

I was too embarrassed to face her. How could I forget my own wife’s dress size? If it was just a different size, it would have been better, but it was Anastasia’s exact size.

I hadn’t seen Marceline, and I didn’t have the courage to knock on her door. Now, sitting here with untouched breakfast and a restless heart, I couldn’t take it anymore.

I had to go and talk to her, to apologize. I didn’t mean to get the wrong size ... I only wanted to make things right between us.

She was probably in the garden, I thought. It was Saturday morning, and

Anastasia’s POVMy cheek burned. The sting from Celesta’s slap was still fresh, spreading heat across my face as I sat on the chair, still in the restaurant. I could feel every pair of eyes on me, but I didn’t care.“How dare she touch me! Who does she think she is?” I cursed bitterly.I had always hated Celesta. She always thought highly of herself, acting so proud just because she came from a wealthy family.I turned sharply toward Philip. He was still seated, his head lowered, his hands gripping the edge of the table. He hadn’t said a single word since Marceline and Celesta left. It was as if his soul had left his body. I scorned silently. All of us meeting here wasn’t a coincidence ... I had planned it. I happened to see Marceline’s car drive into this restaurant earlier while I was returning from the hospital, where I had just gotten my pregnancy result. I had quickly texted Philip to meet me here.I wanted to break the news to Marceline myself, right in front of Philip. But I ne

  • The Game of a Married Woman    Chapter 65: Her Nerve Is Unmatched

Marceline’s POV“I still can’t believe that witch said that to our faces!” Celesta’s voice rang across the living room. Her tone was sharp, trembling with anger as she paced back and forth. “How can someone be that shameless?”I sat quietly on the couch, my hands folded on my lap, watching her move like a storm that couldn’t settle. Her face was red with fury, her hair slightly messy from how often she had run her hands through it. She was angry for me ...more than I could ever be for myself.I chuckled in my mind at that. She had insisted I come home with her, thinking I would go back to my house and cry over it.“Did you see the nerve she had? Talking about being pregnant and smiling while rubbing her stomach!” Celesta snapped again. “Ugh… this is making me sick. I’m losing my mind!” she screamed angrily. Her voice echoed through the living room. I breathed out, remembering the scene again. Truly, Anastasia’s nerve was unmatched.... the way she stood there and said she was pregnant

Marceline’s POVCelesta and I had just finished our meal in the private room upstairs and were heading down to go home.Just like always, I had picked her up from the airport that morning. She had just returned from one of her business trips outside the city.“I miss those days when I didn’t have to travel so often,” Celesta said tiredly.I smiled softly. “Then you should quit work and become a sit-at-home mom.”She scoffed and rolled her eyes in irritation. She had always hated that phrase sit-at-home mom or housewife. We both laughed lightly, but our steps slowed as we got to the last stair.There...right in front of us...was Philip and Anastasia.Philip’s eyes widened the moment he saw me, his face turning pale like he had just seen a ghost. Celesta quickly looked at me, her expression worried. I smiled faintly and gave her a small nod.“Marceline,” Philip called, his voice shaky as he stood up in panic.I let out a quiet, mocking laugh in my head and moved my eyes away from him. F

  • The Game of a Married Woman    Chapter 62: The Wrong Size

Philip’s POV“Unbelievable,” I muttered and dropped my phone on the desk with a sharp thud. My chest tightened with anger I didn’t even try to hide. How could she still shamelessly call me about the house as if nothing happened? As if she hadn’t embarrassed me enough.“Stupid woman,” I cursed lowly as I leaned on my chair. I wasn’t just angry, I felt disgusted.I should have known better than to have gotten involved with her.Was that why Marceline had told me to continue with her? Did she know that Anastasia was this low and had pushed me to her?I closed my eyes briefly to calm myself down, not wanting to think about that now. What was important was how to make things right between me and Marceline. It was almost work hour, I packed up my things to head home. I would have worked overtime today, but I wasn’t in the mood anymore.I glanced towards Marceline’s office just as I got out of my office and I realized that I hadn’t seen her all day. Usually, even if we didn’t talk, I’d catch

  • The Game of a Married Woman    Chapter 61: A Reminder

Dominic’s POVThe elevator door slid open with a soft chime, as Marceline and I stepped out together. We walked through the quiet lobby toward the private parking lot.We were both freshly dressed. I had gotten new clothes for her. A faint smile crossed my face as I thought about what had happened earlier. It was wild, but it was also the most passionate moment I’d ever shared with anyone.“You should rest when you get home,” Marceline said softly when we reached her car. Her voice carried that gentle concern that always disarmed me.“I will. Don’t worry,” I replied with a small smile, fighting the urge to touch her hair. She nodded lightly, her lips curving faintly before she looked away. I could tell she had something on her mind ... maybe confusion, maybe doubt. I wanted to ask her, but I didn’t want to push.“Drive safely,” I said, opening her car door for her.“Hmm.” She smiled. “You too.”She got in, fastened her seat belt, and started the engine. She gave me one last soft look
