"Hey, Yu! Cover for my cleaning duty, will you? I’ve got stuff to deal with!" Jeni said to me before I even had a chance to protest.

She quickly grabbed her bag and rushed out, whether she really had something to do or just wanted to ditch her cleaning duty, I didn’t know. Frustrated, I threw my bag back on the desk and begrudgingly started the classroom chores.

Time passed. I let out a long sigh, exhausted after what felt like endless sweeping. I held the broom tightly in my right hand and glanced at the wall clock.

It was past 5 PM, and the school was growing quiet. Most of the students had already gone home, except a few of my classmates still tidying up.

"Why the hell did I even agree to cover for that spoiled girl Jeni? Ordering me around like I’m her maid!" I muttered, sweeping up torn bits of paper scattered across the floor.

“Seriously? These boys and their paper wars. So childish. And I’m the one who has to clean it up?” I kept grumbling, clearly not doing this voluntarily. Of course I wasn’t! It was supposed to be Princess Jeni’s job!

After finishing, I put the broom away in the corner of the room. "Done. I need a break," I told my friends as I stepped out of the classroom.

The cool afternoon air brushed against my face, helping me relax a little after being cooped up all day.

Instead of going straight home, I decided to take a short break behind the school. It was always my favorite spot to escape the crowd. Now that the school was nearly empty, it was especially peaceful.

I walked through the increasingly quiet hallways. Occasionally, I heard a few students chatting nearby, but I ignored them. "I'm too tired. Not in the mood to talk."

Once I reached the back of the school, I leaned my back against the wall and closed my eyes. "Just a quick rest before heading home," I thought. It felt peaceful here, far from the noise and chaos, as if the world had momentarily paused.

I had just started to drift into a quiet moment when I heard commotion from behind. At first, I tried to ignore it, but the sound grew clearer, like a fight was breaking out.

“What the hell is that?” I whispered, curiosity pushing away my exhaustion. I stood up and cautiously peeked around the corner of the wall I’d been leaning against.

Then I saw them, right there in the small, unused field, Bin. That delinquent from school who was always causing trouble. He was arguing with a few guys I didn’t recognize.

They were shoving each other, and Bin, God, he was snatching something out of one guy’s hand. I couldn’t see clearly from that distance, but it looked like a small white packet. Powdery. Was that… drugs?

“Oh my God… is he selling drugs? Or buying them?” My heart pounded like crazy. Panic hit me. I had to get out of there before they saw me.

I spun around and bolted. I didn’t care that I stumbled through dirt, or that branches tore at my uniform. All I knew was that I had to get away!

But then, damn it, my foot twisted when I stepped on a tree root. Pain shot up my ankle, but I didn’t stop. I forced myself to keep running, even as my pace slowed. I could feel someone chasing me, and guess who?

“Where do you think you’re going?” that deep voice rang loudly in my ears.

I turned around, Bin! And yeah … I got caught.

“Shit!” I cursed internally. Cold sweat started dripping down my face.

Before I could react, Bin grabbed my arm and started dragging me away. My breathing was ragged, my ankle hurt, but he didn’t stop. “Let me go! What are you doing?!” I yelled, trying to pull away, but his grip was way too strong.

“Be quiet,” he said coldly, not even looking at me.

My mind was spinning. I didn’t know what he planned to do, and the further we walked, the more I realized, we were heading toward the school’s storage building? The place everyone used for shady stuff. “Bin, where are you taking me?!”

But he didn’t answer. He yanked the metal door open, it creaked loudly, and dragged me inside. The dim lighting made everything even creepier. The place was dusty, full of old equipment, and smelled musty.

“Listen to me!” Bin finally snapped, shoving me against the wall. “Don’t ever get involved in my business!”

I wanted to respond, but my tongue froze. My heart was racing, my brain couldn’t process anything. I slowly backed away, fear crawling over my skin.

Before I could say a word, the door suddenly slammed open.

“Hey! What are you two doing here?!”

The voice startled both of us. We turned at the same time. It was the school security guard, eyes wide, seeing me and Bin cornered inside the storage room, with me looking totally disheveled. My torn clothes, my panting breath… I panicked.

“Sir, this isn’t what it looks like!” I tried to explain, but the security guard had already jumped to conclusions.

“Oh my God, are you two messing around at school?! This is outrageous!” he yelled, already reaching for his walkie-talkie.

I could only stare at Bin in disbelief. I’m dead.

I cried in Bin’s arms, unable to hold back the storm of emotions inside me. The feelings of loss, fear, sadness, and anger all tangled into one. I wasn’t ready to be apart from him, even temporarily it felt like a nightmare I didn’t want to live through.Without a word, Bin slowly pulled back. The eyes that always carried so much certainty were now damp. He looked at me for a long time, as if memorizing every detail of my face, as if this might be the last time he could see me this close.“Wait for me, Yu…” he whispered, his voice almost breaking, before lowering his head and pressing a soft kiss against my lips. The kiss didn’t last long, but it was enough to make my heart ache even more. I wanted to believe everything would be fine, but the uncertainty in his words only made me afraid.I broke the kiss slowly, tears still streaming down my face. “How long?” my voice trembled.Bin sighed, his fingers brushing gently against my cheek, as if he didn’t want to leave any deeper scars in

“There they are…”The policeman’s voice reached my ears faintly, yet it was enough to make my heart race faster.I reflexively turned my head, following the direction of his finger. And there, under the glow of ambulance lights and police headlights illuminating the dusty road, three figures were walking toward us.Bin in the middle, Nunu on his right, and Hasan on his left. The evening breeze blew gently, tousling their messy hair. Their clothes were dusty, torn in several places, and streaks of dried blood clung to their faces and hands. But those wounds only made them look fiercer. Their breathing was still ragged, yet their strides were steady, as if refusing to show the pain weighing down their bodies.I froze in place. My eyes couldn’t leave Bin.“Bin…”His name slipped from my lips, fragile, almost like a choked sob.And at that moment, my tears broke free.I couldn’t hold it back anymore. My shoulders trembled, my hand shot up to cover my mouth, muffling the sobs I couldn’t co

The faint wail of an ambulance finally reached us from afar, growing louder with every second. A small sense of relief washed over me, but the knot of worry in my chest refused to loosen. When the ambulance stopped near the rice fields, a group of medics jumped out, carrying a stretcher. Their steps were swift and precise as they hurried toward the hut where we had taken shelter.Trailing behind them, several police officers followed. Their uniforms stood out sharply against the golden fields, dimming under the glow of the setting sun.Their arrival should’ve made me feel safe. But it didn’t.Siska quickly helped Rocky onto the stretcher, making sure his wounds were stabilized. His face was still pale, but he was fighting hard to stay conscious.“I’ll go with Iky,” Siska said briskly, climbing into the ambulance beside him.Meanwhile, Arum wrapped an arm around me, guiding me out of the hut and across the narrow ridges of the rice field toward the roadside. I had no idea how bad my ow

I was already running through the rice fields, my breath ragged, chest heaving up and down. But beside me, Rocky was in even worse shape.“Damn…” Rocky hissed weakly. I glanced down and saw the small dagger still lodged in his calf. Blood was starting to seep out more heavily now.Panic hit me.I quickly pulled a handkerchief from my pocket and tied it around Rocky’s calf to keep the blade from shifting as we moved. Hasan immediately helped, massaging Rocky’s shoulder to keep him conscious.“Just hold on a little longer, Ky. We’re almost there,” Hasan said, trying to stay calm though I knew he was just as worried. We kept moving. The muddy fields made every step heavier. Each time Rocky stumbled, he winced, sweat streaming down his pale face. Finally, the hut was in sight. Siska and Arum were waiting there. As soon as they spotted us, they rushed over.“Iky! Oh my God!” Siska gasped at the sight of the dagger still stuck in Rocky’s leg. Her eyes widened, but she quickly steadied herse

Time seemed to slow down.I froze, my heart sinking. This wasn’t the Bin I knew. This wasn’t him. His eyes were dark, burning with rage. His jaw was locked tight, his movements brutal, completely out of control.“AAARRGGHH!!” the pierced guy groaned, but Bin didn’t care. He kept pounding, grabbing the man’s collar, lifting him slightly, then striking harder.“BIN, STOP! ENOUGH! DON’T KEEP GOING! PLEASE! IF YOU DO THIS, YOU’RE NO DIFFERENT FROM THEM!”My voice cracked through the air. I didn’t care how terrified I had been. I didn’t care about the pain I’d just endured. The only thing I cared about now was Bin.His fist froze midair. His breathing was ragged, chest heaving. I just needed to hold on until he came. But before I could think any further, the guy lunged, his hand reaching for my chin.I jerked my head aside and kicked out as hard as I could to push him away.“You bitch!” he roared, gripping my shoulders so tight it hurt. Pain shot through me, but I refused to give in.Suddenly—BANG!The warehouse door burst open.
