Aria's POV

The delicate lace, this specific shade of pink, the tiny bow... I'll recognise it anywhere. I've seen it in her laundry basket, joked about it in her closet.

My best friend. My brother.

Ugh! I feel like I'm gonna throw up with the pineapple juice now tasting like bile in my throat. First things first. I can't stand to be in Drew's room for another second.

I run out of Drew's room, and into mine. I tuck the underwear inside the lowest drawer in my bedside table, shoving it under an old pile of t-shirts. I throw my bag on the bed.

A lot to take in. This is a lot. How do I wrap my finger around the fact that Drew and Lily have been... I don't understand? Since when has this been going on? Has it been for long? Have they been seeing each other under my nose? Have they kept me in the dark for so long and made me a fool?

Calm down, Aria. You can fix this. Just call Lily and tell her that you know. Good idea.

Jason's POVCoach called me. The old man actually called me. He spoke to me for what felt like eternity but it was probably only thirty minutes. But the only damn information I got is that I'd get my spot back in the team if I can be good to Aria. Of course I can. And I will. If it means being on the ice again.I shove my phone in my pocket and let out a low groan when it immediately starts ringing again. I reluctantly retrieve it and glance at the caller ID. Principal's kid? Aria's calling? I swipe green and keep silent. Then the sound of her crying voice hits me. Aiden was shouting at me from across the quad, yelling something about stopping and joining the guys from a night out early, probably to hit up some bar, or a party, but I tuned him out. Her hiccups. Her cracked voice. Her teary... Since she said Lily, it's evident she called me by mistake, but still. She also said she's outside. As I slam the door, I look right and there she is, eyes puffy and red, but no tears. "Sunshi

  • The Goalie's Tutor   Chapter Nineteen

Aria's POVMatt is so clingy. It's annoying because he's a male and I'm a female. I thought girls were the clingy ones? I'm not an expert in relationships but I need some space. What am I even saying? We are not in a relationship yet. Not officially.I sigh and eye him as he keeps glancing at me as we walk. As soon as I stop in front of Coach Blaise's office, I face Matt."Can you wait out here? I have to talk to someone." I tell him."It's fine. I'll wait," he smiles softly.Damn, that smile of his. I can't help but smile and enter the office. Coach Blaise is seated behind a huge, imposing desk, leaning back in his chair, his arms crossed over his massive chest. I suck in a breath and take his imposing build in. He's a huge man with inky black hair and grey eyes. His gaze falls on me, and he smiles, which eases the knot in my stomach."Arianna, to what do I owe this visit?" He asks as he motions to a chair in front of him. "Jason," I say simply and his brows raise. "I... I need t

Aria's POV"Drew!" I yell, leaving my seat and running into his open arms. My brother holds me to himself, laughing as I tighten my arms around him, drinking in his cologne, my head to his chest. This is one of the rare times I get to admit my brother is taller than I am.When I pull away, I look up at him and smile again. Is it weird that I only saw him this morning before leaving for school and I'm acting like I haven't seen him in months? Maybe. But that's how it is for my brother and me. I wonder what he's doing here. Maybe he's here to see Dad? I try not to frown at the disturbing thought. Dad had really cut off Drew's allowance. Mum's search for a job made the tension back at home heighten. They aren't speaking. I hate thinking of how bad things have become ever since the Monroes waltzed into my family.A warm hand over my face, brushing the strands of my hair brings me back to the present. "So, you're the infamous Jason Monroe?" Drew's eyes flick to Jason.I turn around and st

  • The Goalie's Tutor   Chapter Seventeen

Aria's POV It's a good thing that I get to watch Jason in distress for the five minutes that he stares down at the topic I picked. That's it. I'm gonna make him regret ever saying mean words to Matt. He looks like he cries when he gets a B. Who does that? He makes Matt sound not so enticing again. He makes him sound like a nerd. And although I don't have anything wrong with dating nerds, but still... I can't be considered a nerd by guys and still be in a relationship with one. Matt is not a nerd. He's a nice guy. He's funny and unlike Jason, he takes his studies seriously. Plus, he's not as blunt as Jason, and he's sweet. He'll do. Back to Jason, like I said to him... calling his name is bad enough for me. Maybe, I'll resort to he-who-shall-not-be-named. I fight back a laugh as the thought comes to my head. Then I look at Jason who's glaring. "What?" "I'm wondering what is funny, sunshine. You're supposed to be teaching me and not making fun of me." He says. A sly grin appea

  • The Goalie's Tutor   Chapter Sixteen

Jason's POV "Jason, where are you going?" Liam asks, eyeing me wearily as I shove my hands in my pockets and walk out of the classroom. "Anywhere but here," I say. I walk down the hallway, ignoring the stares, the drooling, the fascination and awe... there's really nothing to be fascinated about. Maybe a week ago, before I discovered my grades were trash... when I used to feel like the king of the ice? Now I feel like crap. A week without my spot in the team is making me seriously lose my shit. My head keeps spiralling. I need an outlet. I have to pour out the pent-up frustration and anger on someone. As I walk past the garden, I stop. Soft laughter filters through the wind to my ears. I can smell the strawberry and chocolate perfume... which says so much about my tutor. What is she doing here? Nobody comes here. And why is she laughing? I turn around and walk forward to see. There she is, standing with the new guy. My jaw ticks as he says something and she laughs about it. A
