Staring at Don Bernardo with deep hatred in her eyes, she tried to process what he just said to her. Not only did he refuse to let her go but he's saying he has a mission for her now?

“Is this a joke? What mission could I possibly finish in a few days? The shortest mission took a week to finish. You expect me to accept that?“ She asked angrily.

She hates the fact that she'd spend another moment working for him. Her greatest wish in the last few years is to start afresh. She's been in situations where she almost died many times. It took a lot for her to not attack him. It was the strength that kept her going.

“What do you want from me? We had an agreement and…”

“I think you need to watch your words while talking to me. I am still your boss and you should be thankful I am not scolding you for that.“ Don Bernardo said not showing a single ounce of remorse.

He knows that she holds a deep grudge towards him but he doesn't care. She must hate him because of their past history together but they've gone past that now. Don Bernardo has led the organisation before Rose joined them but they started having more successful missions when she joined.

Don Bernardo is in his forties now and he has built up a lot of assets. He is a cunning and very dangerous person who would do anything to get what he wants. He leads the organisation who steals and targets corrupt and rich politicians.

“I don't care what you think anymore. You can kill me if you dare. I am done with you all and that's it!“ She looked at Kay who has been silent the whole time.

She met Kay working there before she joined and he has been looking out for her since then. He is five years older yet he's the sweetest person who encourages her to go on.

“Wow. I mean, you must have grown enough wings to talk to me now. I'm not surprised, you've been working under me for long. You must have learnt something.“ He banged the table in anger.

She didn't flinch. Her mind was made up when she was coming. It's either she dies or lives. Another person came in at this time and it's one of Don Bernardo's closest men. His name is Harry and he doesn't like Rose unlike Kay.

“Boss, I am here with the information on the next target.“ He dropped the files on the table for Don Bernardo to see.

Don Bernardo picked up the files and smiled sheepishly. “Finally, the moment I have been waiting for. I've finally gotten what I want.“

Rose rolled her eyes, she did not like his smile one bit. It means he is still not giving up on going after people all in the name of teaching them a lesson.

“Here.“ He dropped the files in front of Rose. She gave him a glare, “This is your next client. Everything you need to know about him is in there so you should-”

She frowned, “I do not know if you are being stupid or not. You think I'll still accept your mission after I told you I am quitting?“

“What do you think you are doing? How dare you speak to him that way?“ Harry fired at her.

“This is none of your business you rat so shut the fuck up!“ Rose fired at him.

“What? How dare you-” He wanted to say but got pulled back by Kay who twisted his hand. Harry glared at Kay, “What are you doing you bastard? Let go of me at once!“

“This is between the boss and her. You shouldn't meddle.“ Kay told him.

He sneered, “You fucking- “

“That's enough Harry. Kay is right. This is between Rose and I. Just stand back.“ Don Bernardo cuts Harry off.

Kay let go of Harry while Harry angrily held his twisted hand. He knows he can't win against Kay because Kay is more trained than he is.

Rose stood up, having enough of Don Bernardo's bullshit. She was determined to leave.

“I'll be leaving now. I hope you find someone else to do your bullshit for you.“ She said ready to leave until Don Bernardo made her stop.

“Are you sure you want to leave? You know the reason why you have been able to cooperate with us for five years. You still want to try?“ He said calmly.

She turned around, she tried to suppress her emotions and hold back the tears threatening to fall.

“You still don't know what happened back then and what is going on now. Don't you think it will be easier for me to do that than kill you?“ He threatened her.

She sat back on the chair. “You know, you have been doing this to hold me back for the last few years. You don't have any intention of letting me go, do you?“

He shook his head, “You are wrong darling. I have no intention of holding you back after you contract has ended. I have a lot of people who will still be doing the job for me.“

“Then why don't you leave me the hell alone?“ She shouted.

“Because this is the biggest and most dangerous mission. You are the only one who can pull this off.“ He stated.

Her eyes got darker, “Are you saying this mission could end my life?“

“No. But if you are clumsy, it could. You must never let your identity be known. That's why it's your last mission. You have been having it easy all along, finish this mission and I'll never bother you again.“

Rose could not say a word. He wants her to go on a dangerous mission that could end her life. Why would he do this to her after all she has done for him? She would have run away if she could but she has no choice but to obey at this point.

“How am I supposed to believe that?“ She questioned him.

“It is in the contract. I won't bother you again after you complete this mission so don't worry.“ He promised her.

He saw her being hesitant, he realized she might be scared because of the mission.

“Come on, it's not that serious. I just need you to get me his secrets like always and also something very important for me. Then you'll be fine.“ He said seeing her hesitant.

She picked the files and opened it to check the person who is her next target. The files almost fell off her hand as her pupils dilated in shock. She cleared her eyes to be sure she wasn't seeing wrong.

“This person… this is my next mission?” She asked to be sure.

“Yes, that's him. Nicholas King. He is not a politician but rather a very powerful businessman.“ Don Bernardo told her.

She shook her head, “But I can't…”

“Then you know what will happen.“ He told her.

She stopped to look at the files again. This man is Nicholas King? This is the same man that paid her two million dollars yesterday. How is she supposed to go after him now?

“How can this even happen? I am doomed!“
