Chapter 9

“Sienna Qin, your child is gone. I want you to know that he’s dead.”

“You have no right to stand next to Ziggy, as Mrs. Qiao. You can’t even keep a child, he doesn’t want you.”

  The voice laughed.

  Who was it?

Child? The child is gone? He’s dead?

  No, that’s impossible!

Sienna Qin wanted to open her eyes to see who was mocking her.

No matter how hard she tried to open her eyes, her eyelids just seemed too heavy.

“Sienna Qin, your child is gone, how long do you want to pretend to be dead? Are you afraid to face the truth? Come on, get up and see the gift I’ve brought you.”

The voice kept ringing in her ears. She wanted to slap her. She was obviously conscious but didn’t have the strength.

“If you don’t wake up, I will flush your baby in the toilet. Hahahahaha…”

She could feel the pain all over her body. But that was nothing compared to the pain in her heart.

By this time, she had figured out whose voice it was. A wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Sienna Qin yelled in her heart and, all of a sudden, she opened her eyes.

“Yasmin Wen!” She looked at the woman sitting beside her bed. “What did you do to my baby?”

“Oh, you’re awake now.” Yasmin Wen sneered and pointed to the urinal on the floor.

“Hello, you might want to see your child that has turned into blood. It’s over there.”

Qin Sheng’s eyes widened and followed her gaze in disbelief.

The white medical urinal has some dark red flesh and blood. It was indeed dazzling red.

Before she was sent to the hospital, Sigfried, whom she has loved for seven years, was in bed with her best friend, Yasmin Wen. In her own bed.

She couldn’t forget how he had thrown her on the floor and hurt the baby inside her belly.

And when she begged him to save their baby, he ignored her pleas and left with Yasmin Wen in his arms.

Recalling this awful scene, she felt a pain that penetrated deep down to her bones.

And now, Yasmin Wen was showing her the dark red substance inside the urinal.

  “No…no…”

She shook her head, screamed and struggled to get out of bed. But she was too weak to stand, and she dropped to the floor.

She looked at the urinal near Yasmin Wen’s feet and tried to get up but failed as she didn’t have enough strength.

She wept, feeling the pain even deep inside her organs.

  “My baby…”

She had just started to experience the joy of being a mother. How can it be gone in an instant?

How can it be? And why was this happening to her?

She felt her lungs seemed to explode with each breath.

“Sienna Qin, you have to sign these papers. Otherwise, you can’t have the remains of your baby.”

A piece of white paper, printed with black bold letters was being waved from left to right before her.

The big words “Divorce Agreement” was clearly printed on top.

Shocked, she sniffed, and said without hesitation, “I’ll sign.”

Love has always been a unilateral effort. Now that the child was gone, what’s the point of staying in this marriage?
