Juno and Callum stepped out of the café together. His arm rested comfortably around her shoulders, while his other hand held her handbag.

He gave a faint smile. “This must really be bothering you, for you to let me have my arm around you like this,” Callum teased.

Juno glanced at his hand draped over her shoulder, as if only just noticing it.

She wrinkled her nose. “Yuck,” she said, though her tone was half-hearted and playful, and she quickly pulled his arm away.

Callum chuckled. “I knew it was too good to last.”

Juno rolled her eyes, smirking. “Yeah, yeah. Don’t get used to it.”

They made their way back to the wellness center, the late afternoon sun slanting through the glass windows, painting golden stripes across the polished floor. Callum still had that teasing half-smile on his face, but Juno could tell his mind was somewhere else, hers definitely was.

As they entered the hallway, Callum’s tone dropped low. “We’ll start small, okay? Maybe check Cassie’s messages, her behavior pa

JUNO HAYESWe finally sat down at the dining table, the polished wood gleaming under the chandelier light. The air smelled like rosemary and garlic, warm bread, and something sweet baking in the oven. My stomach rumbled involuntarily, despite the adrenaline still buzzing in my veins.Cassie had apparently taken over the kitchen with Adrian’s reluctant help. There were roasted chicken legs glazed with honey and mustard, a steaming dish of mashed potatoes with little flecks of chives, a salad with what looked like cranberries and walnuts, and a loaf of fresh bread that made my mouth water.“Wow,” I said. “This smells amazing.”“Thanks, Mom!” Cassie said brightly, sliding a plate in front of me. “We figured dinner would be better than whatever boring takeout you were planning.”I glanced at Adrian, who was serving himself quietly, his sleeves rolled up and a faint smudge of flour on his cheek. He smiled at me politely. “Cassie insisted, so I helped.”Callum, seated to my right, picked up

JUNO HAYES“...We’re going to act like nothing just happened,” Callum said, his hands pressing lightly against my shoulders. I looked up at him, standing right outside my front door. The warm glow spilling from the window told me either Adrian or Cassie or maybe both were home.My eyes flicked to my car, and Callum caught the movement, gently turning me to face him. My body still thrummed with adrenaline, anxiety, and that lingering fear from only minutes ago. I couldn’t stop wondering who had really been following us. Could it really have been Emma, like Callum suggested? We couldn’t be certain.Callum, however, wanted us to stop thinking about it. Hard to do when he was the one who’d planted the fear in me in the first place. Now he wanted us to focus on the reason he was here: since I’d confided my suspicion that something inappropriate might be going on between Cassie and Adrian, he’d suggested coming over for dinner to see for himself. We would have been here anyway…if not for th

  • The Hockey player's submissive professor    Don't Turn Around

JUNO HAYESI turned to look at Callum for the tenth time in a row now, then down at his grip on the steering wheel. It was tight, like he wanted to squeeze the life out of it. Poor steering wheel. And that wasn’t all. He was quiet. Too quiet. It was so un-Callum-like that it started to make me uneasy.I sighed. “Okay, let it out. What’s wrong?”He glanced at me, his brow creasing before his eyes flicked back to the road.“What do you mean?”He actually looked confused. Like, genuinely confused.“Hmm, I don’t know,” I said, tilting my head. “You’ve been pretty silent since we said goodbye to Emma. You only spoke when you insisted on driving.”He didn’t answer. Just kept his eyes locked on the road ahead. When I thought I wasn’t going to get a word out of him, he muttered something under his breath. It sounded like Emma. That name dragged my thoughts back to a few minutes ago and to how grateful I was that she wasn’t badly hurt. She’d even been nice about it, which was wild considering

“Boss, there’s something you need to see. I’m sending it now.”A call came through for Rhett just as he stood beside his mother in the kitchen of the Voss mansion. His eyes darted around the room, no one was paying attention. His mother was focused on whatever the chef was preparing, and his siblings… well, as long as they weren’t looking his way, he didn’t care what they were doing. He didn’t reply. Instead, he ended the call. Not even a second later, a text and a few photos appeared on his screen. Rhett’s eyes widened. His fingers curled tightly around the phone until it creaked under the pressure.Lorelei Voss looked up from the counter. She noticed the veins standing out on her son’s temples, the way his jaw clenched, and how his teeth ground together. Something was wrong, she could tell instantly but she didn’t pry. Not yet.Rhett saw red. It felt like a pool of blood had flooded his vision as he stared at the images. The first showed Emma hugging Juno—Juno’s expression frozen in

  • The Hockey player's submissive professor    Crossing Lines

JUNO HAYESI put the car into park, made my way out of the car and towards the wellness center. The morning air felt colder than usual, or maybe it was just me. My chest had that same tight feeling it got whenever something didn’t add up but I was too tired to chase the answer.I told myself to stop thinking about it. About them. About Cassie’s laughter echoing behind me like a song I couldn’t turn off.Adrian wouldn’t. He couldn’t.And Cassie, she was just a kid. My kid.Still, the image of her pink lipstick on his mug wouldn’t leave me alone. Neither would the smell of coconut on his shirt.“Focus, Juno,” I muttered under my breath, forcing my thoughts to straighten up as I walked into the building.I didn’t want to think about it.About them. The automatic doors slid open, letting out the familiar scent of disinfectant and coffee. A few students waved from the front desk, and I forced a smile that didn’t reach my eyes.“Morning, Dr. Hayes,” someone called.“Morning,” I replied, my
