Before she could formulate her line of attack and open her mouth Oberon opened his and started the conversation without giving her a chance to get ready for it.
“Where do you exactly fit in the deal Rhonda?” asked Oberon as he looked at her with a different kind of intensity.

Rhonda gave him an ironic look as she made a small face. The meaning of her look was apparently clear to Oberon but she felt the need to drive it home and hammer it down.
