Xander didn't wait at all before running to his mate and engulfing her in a warm, tight hug. His mate gave Umbrie another last glare before hugging Xander back and maybe it was intentional or not, she wobbled very closer into him and dug her face in his neck.

Umbrie was hurt. Deeply hurt, both physically and mentally. She had seen how he had wanted to rush to her and help her but had immediately diverted his attention to an unknown lady, one who's his mate. Giving them one last hurtful stare, she managed to stand up and leave quietly without disturbing them.

She was greatly temped to turn and watch as Xander pushed that lady away from him but she knew that her wish was just something that could never happen and she'd only cause herself more pain.
