In the end, Simone hadn’t dared to ask, although a few questions burnt her lips and haunted her all day.

And before long, it was Friday afternoon. She was excited to be going to New Orleans, a place she had never visited, but also apprehensive of what this trip might mean for her blooming relationship with William.

She was just ready to board the plane when she received a text from a number she didn’t recognize.
