There was some movement when Dean rapped on the door. The third in charge was standing in front of me outside the spare house's bedroom where Levi was staying. Seth, of course, had the largest room in the home even though all of the Equinox Wolves were staying there.

Levi yelled out, "What?" and I trembled within in response to his husky, male voice.

Dean called and said, "It's me."

Levi screamed, "Good, pack your crap. We're going today. I want to go before I have to see her again." I whimpered inconsolably in my head, but my face was expressionless. Before attempting to open the door, Dean gave me a sympathetic look. It was secure. Dean, it's locked, said Seth.

You need to speak to your mate, so open it up, man.

Levi stormed across the room while growling. My partner is. When the door was opened, Dean and I were in his direct line of sight.

"Your mate is right here," I said, frowning. Levi gave me another quick glance, his face as expressionless as mine. In all honesty, he was the most handsome man I had ever seen, and I couldn't help but admire him once more. He was gorgeous.

My companion glared at Dean and shouted, "Why did you bring her here, Dean?"

She's your partner, and bringing her here was probably the only way to shake you out of these crazy beliefs, so why not? When Levi moved out of the way because he didn't want to touch me, he shoved me toward his Alpha, and I almost fell into the bedroom.

I exclaimed "Ow" as I regrouped. I stared at Dean as I turned around. "That hurt, asshole, I haven't Shifted."

He said with a wink, "Sorry child. Before turning on his heel and walking away, Levi frowned and sent a glance between Dean and I. Levi paused for a split second and then moved out of the doorway after giving me a quick glance.

He motioned for me to "leave" and pointed to the door. Despite the pain in my heart, I managed to maintain my composure. I moved inside the room and sat down on the edge of the big bed, attempting to mentally inhale a mental gulp of courage. Despite how stupid I might have felt, I knew I had to stand up for my companion. Because I did want Levi to try to love me or at least show some signs of doing so.

I said, noting my voice was a little wobbly, "I'm not leaving, you owe it to me to at least speak to you." Levi gave me a brief moment of attention before firmly slamming the door. In horror at the sound, I leaped. Levi took notice of my anxiety and grinned at me as a cat would at a mouse.

He called me "nervous, freckles."

I sneered, "No.

"You should be," he said, approaching the bed where I was sitting.

You won't hurt me, I'm your mate, I swallowed.

He reached me and looked down at me, "Who said anything about hurting you, freckles?" I gasped for air as I stared up at him. However, it wasn't because I was afraid; rather, it was because I was anxious and unsure of what to say to him. Come on, freckles, why are you here if you won't go?

I leaned in and said, "I'm your mate," gazing into his stunning blue eyes.

You are a child.

I'm 16 years old.

You're a kid, like I just said, he shot back.

I said, for the first time addressing him by his name, "Seth, but I'm still your mate." When I uttered Seth's name, his eyes shrank. But he said nothing. I understand that I'm much younger than you and that I'm not as attractive as many of the other She-Wolves, but I'm the only mate you're ever going to receive. I'm yours and your mine.

Levi remained silent for a short while before nodding. "I understand that you are my only friend, but that doesn't make this right. Imagine learning that your friend was a two-year-old toddler." I pulled a face as he turned to face me. "Exactly. That's the age difference between us. It's weird and wrong, like you dating a baby."

I am still your partner, though.

Yeah, he murmured. "What happened to your face?" he said abruptly as he softly ran a hand through his dark hair. I blinked in perplexity. He said, "Your face. It's bruised. What happened?"

"I fell".

It appears as though you were involved in a fight, not in a fall. He looked at me with a heavy, dark brow. I shrugged indifferently, not wishing to discuss anything.

I redirected the conversation by saying, "You're changing the subject."

You're now altering the topic by changing the topic.

I responded, crossing my arms over my chest, "Now you're changing the subject by saying that I'm changing the subject by changing the subject."

"What?" he asked, his brows drooping.

I yelled aggressively, "I'm your mate." "Don't you give a damn about me?"

Please be understanding, Mabella.

"May".

He rephrased, "What?"

I told him, "May. I go by May, not Mabella. I hate that fucking name."

We are that couple that sometimes mates aren't just meant to be, so May, you need to accept that we probably won't work out. He grinned down at me indignantly. You're a nice kid, but I'm not interested in you as a partner.

I snorted as I began to experience yet another wave of tears brought on by his rejection, "Can't you just wait for me to grow up?"

Because May is not the only factor.

I yelled, a few tears streaming down my cheeks, "You're just using this age thing as an excuse. It's because I'm not pretty, isn't it? I bet if I was pretty you'd want me. I wiped them away furiously.

Levi sighed heavily and sat awkwardly down next to me on the bed after saying, "Oh May." He comforted me by placing his arm around my shoulders in that manner. He gave me a small smile as he wiped my cheeks. I'm sorry, freckles, but I don't think we're going to get along. I'll leave with my Wolves today to make this easier on you.

I hiccuped as I sobbed hard, feeling as though my heart was breaking. Please, Mabella, put an end to your crying. I turned to cry on his shoulder and he squeezed my shoulders. My heart felt like it was being torn apart, but I felt silly and silly. I broke down in tears. I really don't like to see you upset, so please stop.

I sobbed, "You did this to me, you were supposed to love me and care for me, and now I'm going to be alone forever because you don't want me." As I sobbed, I clung to his shirt with both hands in an effort to hold him close. Levi uncomfortably encircled me with his arms, holding his breath as he moved one of his hands along the back of my body. I felt even more like a child being soothed by their father when he removed my baseball cap so he could clean my face more.

When I realized how sad I was acting, I took a small step back. I could smell Seth's masculine aroma because we were so near. My stomach was filled with butterflies as I gazed up into his beautiful eyes. Levi gave me a sympathetic look as he peered down at me.

I did the only thing I could when he opened his mouth, undoubtedly intending to further break my heart apart. His refusal was once again silenced when I leaned in and kissed him. As someone who had never kissed somebody, I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing. Before I realized what I was doing and moved away, our lips briefly met.

Levi blinked in disbelief as he stared at me in uncertainty before he kissed me once again. His lips were rough and brittle yet had a lovely taste, and I closed my eyes as we made passionate contact. As we kissed, the light dark stubble on his face tickled my face.

Seth's hands moved around me, no longer consoling me but rather holding me up against him as my body was on fire. My fingers untangled their firm grip on his shirt before my fingertips crept slowly up his chest. I could feel his heart throbbing strong and heavy. We kissed heavily, my thoughts of rejections vanishing and being replaced by sweet and passionate sentiments of need and lust.

When we broke away, breaking the kiss, I glanced up into his lovely blue eyes. "I am so fucked" he muttered gently, looking down at me.

"Seth" I whispered out, not sure what to say. He glanced at me for a bit longer, before turning and flinging me into the centre of the bed. I yelped in shock when Seth's dazzling blue eyes shined at me. A second later he was on top of me, kissing me deeply.

A faint groan spilled out of my mouth, as he pressed his body on top of mine while our tongues tormented one other. Seth's body seemed hard and solid above me, but I couldn't feel any of his weight. In fact, I felt weightless.

Levi broke the kiss, and leaned backwards just enough to pull off his shirt. My eyes lit up in want, as I noticed his huge muscled chest - his skin ivory and his six pack firm and shining. Tattoos glistened over his back, but I didn't get chance to look at the design because a second later his lips regained mine.

Levi pulled back again and his hands nervously grabbed at my shirt as we continued to make out for a few more minutes. He removed it as I leaned forward, making him see my entire body. Levi didn't seem to mind that I was only wearing a sports bra because I found them to be more comfortable.

We started kissing passionately once more as I accidentally kicked off my shoes. As our lips struggled against one another, my legs were encircling his waist. Levi kissed me from my neck down, covering my chin in the process. His lips kissed and nipped my skin while his hands raced up and down my sides. I caught hold of his musculatured back with my hands and let out a breathy sigh.

He took a brief pause as his lips came within millimeters of my skin and his breath brushed over it. He hesitated, and I shuddered. He murmured, "Damn, damn, damn."

I questioned, "What? Is something wrong?"

Levi sighed, "Yes, I'm just going to hell." After a brief period of confusion, his teeth began to rip into my skin. My skin was torn by his teeth, and I screamed in agony as a small amount of blood leaked out. As my fists sank into his back, I started to cry out in agony.

I was being marked and claimed by Seth.

He was forced to admit that I was his mate.

He owned me; I was his partner.

It wasn't a gentle dawn. As like the planet itself knew what was coming, it tore through the sky in ragged crimson and gold streaks. The packhouse was filled with muted growls and the sound of boots on the floor when I woke up. Already, warriors were in motion, prepping, drilling, and inspecting. Sweat and the biting tang of wolf musk mixed with the lingering smell of strain. With his arms folded and his eyes looking everywhere, Ethan stood in the middle of the main hall. Every wolf was drawn to him just by his presence, their discipline almost flawless, their loyalty keen. I sensed the boundaries of the storm, but even now the Alpha contained it in his chest. Through the relationship, I sensed it. He said, without looking at me, "You'll be in charge of the scouts." His voice was forceful, authoritative, and precise. "You must be seen by your pack as more than just my mate." I felt a knot in my stomach. Me? In charge of the scouts? Despite my trembling voice, I squared my shoulders. "

Eventually, the courtyard dispersed, but the Bloodfang messenger's words stuck to me like smoke. union. coalition. Queen. Bile sprang in my throat at its arrogance. Ethan walked quickly inside the packhouse, his jaw clenched. No one dared to slow him down, and the wolves parted swiftly as we went by. Not because I had chosen it, but because he hadn't released his grip since the courtyard, I rushed to be by his side. I was reminded of both anchor and chain by the burning sensation of his palm. We arrived at his workplace. The sound of Ethan slamming the door shut echoed like thunder in the room. He paced back and forth as waves of rage rolled off him. His shoulders were taut, his fists clenched, and he walked like a predator surrounding its prey. His voice was low and deadly as he murmured, "They think they can take what's mine." "They believe they can stand on my property and claim it as their own." I had to keep my voice steady as I leaned on a chair's edge. A provocation occurred. T

Perhaps it was just the shift inside of me, but the air outside the office was cooler than when we had entered. As Ethan led the way down the corridor, his hand briefly touched mine not holding, not claiming, but grounding my heart pounded uneasily. With each step resonating with the weight of what lay ahead, we descended the stairs. There were murmuring in the packhouse. Wolves bowed their heads to Ethan and stepped out of our way. However, their eyes oh, they stared at me. Some squinted with mistrust, while others showed open contempt. A few appeared uncertain and interested. Pretending that their looks didn't make me feel uncomfortable, I raised my chin higher. I refused to act like prey if I was going to stand next to Ethan right now. The night air outside struck me clean and harsh. We could see the courtyard in front of us, the gravel covered in long shadows from the candles. The messenger was there, flanked by two guards. The Bloodfang insignia glowed dark against his coat, but

Thunder was still rumbling in Ethan's office even though the storm outside had long since gone. His hold on my wrist was as firm as iron chains, but it didn't cause any bruises. The packhouse was out of sight as the door closed behind us, leaving just him, me, and the heat from our impact. My back struck his desk's edge. As he bent over me, his eyes blazing and his chest heaving as if he had wrestled that same night, the polished wood sank into my back. With a low, menacing voice, he replied, "You don't get to disappear on me." Despite the fact that my pulse was a rogue drum, I raised my chin and refused to back down. "I didn't vanish. I turned to leave. There is a distinction. "Wwalked off?" He laughed bitterly and sharply. "Mabella, don't leave me alone. Not from your friend. Not from your Alpha. He didn't mean for the words to cut so deeply. My friend. My Alpha. My neck was encircled by two chains that pulled in opposing directions. "You think I'll bend if you throw titles at me?"

Tension was high in the packhouse the next morning. The smell of silver and blood still permeated the air as whispers hummed down the corridors. Warriors moved like shadows; some were hobbling from the battle the night before, while others were brimming with anticipation for the next one. I didn't get much sleep. I always saw Selene's smile when I closed my eyes; it was piercing and perceptive, as if she were ten steps ahead of us. When I entered the battle room, Ethan was already there. The table was covered with our territory's map, which was marked with marks. His jaw was clenched, his shirt sleeves were rolled up, and the coffee fragrance stuck to him like armor. He said, "Sit," without raising his gaze. I raised an eyebrow. "Not much of a welcome in the morning." When he finally turned to face me, his eyes moved over my face as if to confirm that I hadn't vanished over night. "We don't have time to say hello. Today, we set the trap. I was interested in that. "Trap?" He gave the m

  • The Luna's Choice   Chapter 68

Every moment I was at the office made it feel smaller. I was only reminded that the world was still turning and that fights were still being fought without me by the faint murmur of voices and activity in the packhouse beyond the door. I was told to keep put by Ethan. However, Ethan also believed that if I told me something, I would follow through on it. which was untrue, as history had shown. Leaning on his desk, I gazed at the map that was affixed to the wall. My gaze kept returning to the south boundary, where the red marker indicated the attack spot. The description the rogue had provided a tall, dark-haired she-wolf who paid them in gold was all I could think about. Selene Davor was the only name that kept circling like a vulture in my mind. Before I arrived, she had been a member of Ethan's pack for years until she departed, supposedly of her own volition. Tall, deadly, and driven... as well as having a personal grudge against every lady who attracted Ethan's interest. She and I
