Chapter Seventy-Three: “Stay Hidden”

POV: Lucien

I didn’t know how I managed to get Ronan out of that area without him causing a scene. His eyes had gone wild the moment he caught sight of Evric’s mansion. His body wanted to move. His heart was screaming for Selene. But I couldn’t let him go there. Not yet.

Too many things had changed.

Too many truths would crush him.

And he wasn’t ready.

I brought him deep into the woods, a place only I knew. A tiny cottage covered in moss and leaves, hidden far from the royal roads. It was the place I used to escape when the pressure of my duty was too much. No one ever came here. Not even guards.

I opened the creaking wooden door. Dust hung in the air. Cobwebs in corners. But it was still safe. Safe enough.

“Sit,” I told Ronan.

He didn’t speak. His face was pale, his jaw clenched. He looked like a ghost who had come back from the dead.

He sat on the edge of the bed, his shoulders shaking. “Where is she, Lucien?” His voice was broken. “Where is Sele

Chapter Ninety: “Why Does He Feel So Familiar?”Selene’s POVThe crowd was loud. The warriors were fighting. Blood splashed on the ground, and the wind carried the scent of sweat, dust, and rage. But my heart wasn’t focused on any of that.I kept looking at one man — the one wearing a mask.He stood at the center of the ring like a shadow. Silent. Still. Dangerous. Yet something about him felt… wrong.Or was it right?I wasn’t sure. From the moment he walked out, I had felt it. My chest tightened. My stomach twisted. My heart — it started beating so fast I thought it would explode. It didn’t make any sense. I didn’t even know who he was. His face was covered, his voice quiet, and he hadn’t even looked at me directly. But still…Why do I feel like I know him?“Selene,” Lucien said from beside me. “Don’t stare. You’re drawing attention.”I turned away quickly, embarrassed. “Sorry,” I muttered. But I couldn’t help it. Every time I looked at him, something inside me screamed.I rubbed my

  • The Luna’s Return   Recognition

Chapter Eighty Nine ; Recognition Lucien’s POVWhen we arrived there, I made sure we sat at the back, so Ronan wouldn’t see Selene and Selene wouldn’t notice him. That was the plan. The field was already crowded. Wolves from different regions had gathered to watch the challenge. Some came to fight. Some came to prove their strength. But Ronan… he came with a purpose.I followed Selene and Evric when I saw them leaving the house. I couldn’t just stay behind. I didn’t know what Evric was planning, and I definitely didn’t want Selene walking into the middle of that battle without knowing the truth. So I caught up with them. Now, sitting behind them, I kept looking around. My heart beat fast as I searched the crowd. Ronan hadn’t come out yet. But I knew he would. And when he did, I knew everything would change.Selene looked beautiful, glowing in her soft dress, her hands resting on her belly. She smiled a lot, but I could tell she was hiding things. Her smiles were too controlled. Her l

  • The Luna’s Return   The Masked Challenger

Chapter Eighty Eight : The Masked ChallengerPOV: RonanI stood quietly among the crowd of challengers, my face covered with a dark mask. The sun was high, and the fighting ground was filled with tension. The Alpha Challenge was not a small event—it only happened once every few years, and today, every eye was watching. But they were all watching me.Not because they knew me.But because I was the only one wearing a mask. Some laughed. Some whispered. Some looked scared.I didn’t care.Let them talk.I wasn’t here to make friends.I was here to take what belonged to me.The elders walked in. Dressed in long robes, they stood on the high platform and looked over the field. One of them raised his hand.“The Challenge begins!” the voice echoed. The crowd cheered.Warriors began to step forward in pairs. Growls. Claws. Blood. The ground shook as the wolves transformed and attacked one another.Dust filled the air.Bones cracked. Some warriors were fast. Some were strong. Some were foolish.

  • The Luna’s Return   The Day Everything Could Break

Chapter Eighty Seven : The Day Everything Could BreakLucien’s POVI woke up early that morning.Too early.I couldn’t sleep all night. My heart wouldn’t rest. Today was the challenge. Today was the day Ronan would fight. He was going to do something bold—something dangerous. He was going to challenge for the title of Alpha. No one else knew. Not the council. Not the guards. Not even Selene.Only me, Ronan, and Dareth. We made a plan. Ronan would wear a mask, dress like a stranger, and enter the challenge silently. Nobody would recognize him… not at first. That was the only way he had a chance. But if someone saw through the disguise—if someone like Selene noticed the way he stood, the way he moved…It would be over.I dressed in black from head to toe. A long cloak covered my body, and I kept my hood low. I planned to go early, find a quiet place to hide, and watch. I had to make sure Ronan was safe.I had just stepped out into the hallway, hoping to slip away before anyone noticed m

  • The Luna’s Return   Fire In Bones

Chapter Eighty Six : Fire in My BonesRonan’s POVI slammed into the ground hard, the wind knocked clean from my lungs. Gravel bit into my back, my arms trembling as I tried to push myself up again. My shoulder throbbed. My chest burned. But I didn’t stop.“Again,” the voice barked, cold and unforgiving. “Get up, Ronan. Or you’ll stay the broken prince forever.”I growled low in my throat. My body screamed to rest, but my pride—what little was left—dragged me to my feet.I’d lost count of how many days I’d been here.Up in the high reaches of the Morvyn Mountains, where time seemed to hang frozen and the mist never left the ground. Where no pack dared claim territory, and the old ways still whispered through the stones. It was here that I was reborn—or trying to be.My trainer, Dareth, had once been an Alpha of a pack that no longer existed. A ghost of the past. Ruthless. Wise. Merciless.“Your enemies won’t give you mercy,” he growled, circling me like a vulture. “Why should I?”My l

  • The Luna’s Return   The Pain

Chapter Eighty FiveThe Pain Lucien’s POVShe has moved on.That was the first thought. Cold. Final. Like a knife to the chest, clean and deliberate. It echoed as I walked away from Evric’s chamber, the door clicking shut behind me with deceptive gentleness. I didn’t slam it. I didn’t curse or shout or drag her out to explain.Because what would she even say? What would I want to hear? Her face was turned toward him, eyes half-closed, lips parted in a sigh of relief. His hands—his hands—were on her, steady, firm, comforting. And she let him. Welcomed it. Sank into it like it was safety. But she doesn’t know. She doesn’t know Ronan is alive. She doesn’t know what we’ve been preparing for. She doesn’t know what’s coming. And yet… that didn’t stop the hollow ache forming in the pit of my chest. It didn’t stop the betrayal twisting through me, irrational and sharp. She was never mine. I had no claim to her. I was his brother. The one who stayed silent while he vanished. The one who watch
