Chapter 5

Danika

"Wake up."

"Wake up, child."

A soft voice surrounded me all of a sudden. I opened my eyes. Light streaking through the slit as I tried to focus.

Suddenly, I woke up in the forest. I looked down but I am still naked from last night. The bruises disappeared, the pain gone as if it never even happened.

"Where am I?" I squinted when I saw a white wolf peeking in the woods.

I stood, not taking my eyes off the wolf when it moved.

"Don't be afraid, little one." the wolf spoke in the same, soft voice that awakened me.

"Who are you?" For some reason, though, I didn't feel afraid.

"Why am I here?"

The wolf with white, silky fur stalked towards me.

"That is exactly my question to you," she replied. But my brows knit at her answer.

"What do you mean?" my brows knit.

She halted in her paws and sat on ground in front of me. The wolf was huge, and when it sat it looked even taller than when it was in all fours.

"Why are you, still, here?" she asked the same question. Her voice reverberated through the air. Something about her presence, her form, the way her fur glowed under the glistening moon, told me what I needed to know.

"Moon goddess?"

The wolf smiled, leaving me stunned.

"Why... How?"

I looked around and saw no sign of the pack house anywhere. It only meant one thing. I am in a dream and the moon goddess is in it.

"Your prayers will not go unanswered, little one,"

I sobbed, letting go of all emotion as I crashed my body against her fur. Her scent soothed me like no mate bond possibly could. Her scent was one embedded in all of us at the moment of our birth, for it is her we came from and her we will return. I just wanted to stay in this dream and never wake up, knowing I would only face hell afterwards, I would rather not return.

I choked in my sobs as I drowned in my own grief, only now knowing how desperate I was for some sense of warmth, peace, and comfort. I was dying to feel the same after my parents died, and one day I hoped that my mate would give that to me. But I was wrong.

I buried my face in her soft, silky fur and sobbed nonstop when I felt a small hand caress my hair. I gasped and pulled back to see the face of our moon goddess herself. She is just as beautiful as they described in the books, maybe even more because I have never met anyone so stunning in my life.

She smiled, but there was a hint of pain in her smile.

"Moon goddess?" I wiped my own tears and held her hands that cupped my face.

"I am sorry, little one, for the mate that disgraced you, the pack that turned its back on you, but I am here and I will help you."

I blinked back tears as pain crashed into me. The memories flooding back into me as I experienced them all anew.

"I will help you change your fate. You must," she said almost in a whisper, like a secret that must be kept only between us.

"How?" my lips trembled, I gripped her hand.

"You must leave the pack, but only temporarily and seek refuge in the Lycan King's side,"

My brows shot up to my eyebrows and my eyes widened at her.

"The Lycan King?"

She nodded her head and her eyes glistened with tears, but not of fear. Hope.

"The Lycan King will take you in. You have to trust him," She said like the words she spoke did not just sent a shock waves across my skin.

The Lycan King is known for his cruel ways in punishing those who disobey. Some tortured, some even impaled and their headless bodies left for display in the gates of the kingdom he ruled with an iron fist. I can't leave the pack to enter those gates that scream death itself!

"I can't!" I refused as tears rolled down my cheeks.

She cupped my face tighter and whispered in her soft voice, "This is your chance to change your fate. Tomorrow, you will see. Take the opportunity, and once you have, I will come to you,"

She pressed her forehead against mine, but as soon as her words set in, the world vanished. Darkness crept in before I forced myself to wake up to my original world.

My eyes widened as I sucked in deep breaths, hauling my battered and bruised body off the cold floor. The pain came back with a vengeance and it made my body throb.

Just as I suspected, I was back in my room.

It was all a dream.

"Moon goddess?" I called in a whispery voice but nothing.

With a heavy sigh, I got up and dragged my weak body in the shower. I hissed as the cold water hit my spine. I looked down and saw that the blood had turned the water pink. I sighed and tried to let the cold water soothe my skin. A few minutes later, I heard a crash right outside the bathroom.

"Where is she? Where is that f*cking b*tch?" a venomous voice bounced in the tiles of the bathroom. My breath hitched.

Linda.

  • She Is The Luna   Chapter 169

Danika's POVThe last challenge involves healing. Which is quite easy but harder for some. Or in particular, Perriwinkle."I can do it. Just give me five more minutes." she grits. The elders shake their heads. Elder Garrick looks furious. Silas looked speechless but his eyes kept on finding its way to me."The trial has ended. You lost." Elder Nora announced, no amount of speech can change her mind."No. I'm not finished." Perry's words came out through a whisper."Perry, it is done." A gasp erupts through the crowd when Silas spoke. His voice firm and his eyes are burning into mine."NO!" she screams, and her eyes, fully-black from a darkness I haven't seen before, shoot to me."So it is you." she says deathly cold, and stands. Her face darkens and suddenly I have a bad feeling about this."Perry, that's enough." Silas says warningly.Perry snorts, and in a flash, she is behind me, dagger pointed to my neck and I freeze

  • She Is The Luna   Chapter 168

Silas' POVI grunt, panting as I thrust in and out of the beautiful woman on my bed. She is one of the best candidates but I would say she is the best. I am sure she would be my luna, so why wait? I thought, flipping her over and spilling me juices into her sweet little p*ssy."F*ck, baby, you're so good." I compliment, and she hums in respone. For some weird reason she only responds that way during sex. I always hit her in the back so I couldn't see the expression she makes every time I thrust, but I would like to see it now.I flip her on her back and begin pounding her wet, tight p*ssy, but when I look up, my face falls at the look on her face. She looks disgusted and bored to the point that it made her face turn green."Perry, what's wrong baby?" I ask in concern but she only shakes her head and stand up."I'm going to go get cleaned up," she mutters, and my heart fills with a sadness I can't explain.I sigh and move to take the shower next room. She doesn't like it when I invite

  • She Is The Luna   Chapter 167

Danika's POVI told elder Nora everything that happened since I disappeared. Meeting the with coven owned by hybrid wolves, meeting Jonah and saving him from his darkness, and now Stephanie. I haven't told her about the part about the implant, however. I can't really trust her with that information. "Thank you for telling me, Danika. I assure you no harm will come to them," she assures me, and I nod sighing in relief. "But," she pauses, causing me to shoot my eyes to her. She looks conflicted."I need to discuss this with the council. If they find that strigois can be subdued and saved to the point they regain consciousness and humanity, we might be able to stop a war." she says, her soft expression now serious.I gulp and nod my head, looking over my shoulder to see a sleeping Stephanie on my bed."I will have someone prepare a room for her if you -""No," I say, and shake my head. "She stays with me."Elder Nora nods in understanding and bids me goodnight. Well, in fact, morning, b

  • She Is The Luna   Chapter 166

Danika's POV:With Liam as an escort, we did not have any difficulties entering the border. I reveive a few scoffs by people here and there, curious gazes, and sneers of judgement among others. I let them roll off my shoulders like water on duck's feather. A few, though, have interesting expressions as they eye both men strapped to my sides. They are acting like my body guards, which I appreciate but would prefer they don't. Adeera's spell is mostly wearing off and I could feel more and more like myself now.More than that, his scent is strong from all the way here. My heart is pumping hard and fast I couldn't breathe. I feel a large hand squeeze my shoulder. Looking up to see my father giving me a small smile."That panicked look must mean something. Is he here?" he asks, a knowing look in his eyes. I nod once, and he looks at me as if he understands.Just as Liam reaches the top of the stairs going to the castle's main entrance, the doors burst open and my wolves peer excitedly thr

  • She Is The Luna   Chapter 165

Danika's POVMy breath leaves my lungs in a broken gasp, staring at him. Liam gasps at the same time and narrows his eyes at him in my peripheral.“I left because your mother and I were bound by an old blood covenant,” he continues. “A familial soul-tie. It made me a threat to you. They would have used me to control you.” he says and as I attempt to comprehend his words, my hands tremble."Control me?" I question. He nods and looks at me sadly."They want to control you like they did your mother. Like you, she is a moon descendant, and the power that comes with it is something most will use to fulfill their own will. I promised her I will never let that happen. Your fate is for no one else to decide. Not by a witch, not even by a goddess. Your fate is yours and yours alone.""How... How did you find us?" I ask, looking between him and Liam.“Well it's who I found first,” he says softly, “I never expected to find you. Well, a part of you, through one of your mates. You life essence he
