My heart slammed against my ribs, the sound echoing in my ears, my brain, surging through my lungs and every part of me.

I stood frozen, my hands still in his hold above my head, held in his grasp like a prisoner awaiting interrogation.

His pink tongue flicked out, the tip tracing his bottom lip in a slow, deliberate motion.

I swallowed hard, my mouth suddenly dry. For a fleeting moment, an undeniable pull drew me towards him. I craved the heat of his body pressed against mine, the sensation of being possessed, just as he had with that white-hipped girl. As if my body had a mind of its own to take what it wanted, I inched forward. My tongue darted out, swiping across his cold thumb that was against my lower lip.

My eyes flickered to his. The raw emotions I had glimpsed in his gaze before now surfaced with startling hunger, desire, lust.

But they vanished as quickly as they appeared. His eyes narrowed, his lips parted slightly.

    AstridWell, I didn't expect that to happen so quickly. I knew I had a lot of time on my side to be able to explain myself and what had been going on, but then it suddenly blew up in my face.
